    ABOUT AMERICAN IDOL
AMERICAN IDOL, the iconic series that revolutionized the television landscape by pioneering the music competition genre, returned to the airwaves in March 2019 for its second season at its new home on ABC. The nationwide search for the next superstar kicked off in August 2018, as the Idol Bus traveled from Portland, Oregon, to Orlando, Florida, in its pursuit for talent, covering 23 cities across the country. Auditioning was made easier than ever as hopefuls also had the opportunity to submit audition videos online, as well as via select social media platforms using an official tag, #TheNextIdol, cultivating over 300,000 posts. Also, for the first time in “American Idol” history, hopefuls had the opportunity to audition through a livestream platform. Helping to determine who America will ultimately vote for to become the next singing sensation, are music industry forces and superstar judges, Luke Bryan, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie. Emmy® Award-winning host and producer Ryan Seacrest will return as host of the beloved series.

imagine being young and gay. and imagine being so true a believer that you follow your religion, whole-heartedly, a religion that hates you. and all you do is stay kind humble and true to your lord and savior, praying and hoping that god may find it fit for you, his loyal gay servant, to join him in paradise when you pass from this life to eternity - even though you're constantly told that people like you will burn forever. jeremiah, singing his song, is one of the greatest, sweetest, and at the same time most heartbreaking moments i encountered on this show. it's an example of how religion can be wrong. and if any part of it is wrong, how can you ever be certain that any of it is right?

The judges’ reaction almost feels understated here. How is this not the greatest audition they’ve ever seen???

Sobbing. It's so sad that something had to be thought and felt in the first place to elicit the emotion of this song. But it certainly is beautiful. If there's room for me, there's room for you. If there's room for any of us, there's room for all of us.

What a mistake the judges made. They never picked him to go on to the finals. He is heaven. Was sooooo upset they left out this TALENTED young man.

he’s the kind of artist that reminds me why i fell in love with music in the first place or who i really am in my own art. that’s pure passion right there.

I felt him...I love when vocalists can elicit a deep emotional reaction in their audience. I'm blown away. The emotional factor is strong with this one.
