The body is so brilliant in the millions of things it does every single day but at the same time so clueless that it can’t wipe out cancer cells wherever they may originate. I wish we get to a point in evolution that our bodies can take out cancer by itself.
What to do when HIPEC or any other surgery is not possible for the patient as he is ineligible for it (said by surgeons). My dad is suffering from the same and been on chemo but now even folfox, folferi is not showing response. Is there any other chemotherapy drug? It's a great information you are sharing but no response to comments misses the whole point of your expertise being practically helpful. It's my humble request to Dear Doctor to please respond on the situation I mentioned. Thank you
If HIPEC is not possible, there are other surgical (e.g. PIPAC or palliative surgical techniques depending on symptoms and tumor localization) and non-surgical treatment strategies (e.g. radiation therapy or systemic therapy such as cytotoxic drug regimens and targeted therapies based on genetic analysis of tumors). For specific patient personalized therapy evaluation we do offer second opinion consultations at our Comprehensive Cancer Center www.usz.ch/fachbereich/comprehensive-cancer-center-zuerich/organzentren/zweitmeinungsformular/
