These look like a really solid upgrade to the AS-1 shin pads. The liner is a cool feature, as well as more D3O foam.

Could not agree more, it's great to see them using it in the right spots and not just to say they added more D3O!

Thanks for the video! Looking forward to these!
    - Is there more D3O protection in the AS-V Pro compared to the AS-V?
    - Any additional difference between these two models?

You're welcome, glad you enjoyed it! So D30 is located in the same areas in both the AS-V Pro and the AS-V. The only difference would be the AS-V has D30 "Lite" in the kneecap, which is just a thinner version of D30. So pretty minor difference there. The knee wing in the Pro has better protection and the last difference would be the liner. In the AS-V Pro, it offers a better way to adjust the bottom portion when wearing the shin guards over or under the skate tongue....but it's not removable. The AS-V still has a removable liner.

@@ice.warehouse Thanks for the reply! Looks like the D30 "Lite" is on the AS-V Pro in this video as well at 3:17 time. Is this the name or the same as the AS-V? Regardless looking forward to grabbing a set to replace my Bauer S190 shins which cracked at the knee cap.

Would you recommend these, or the FT6Pros for a forward that occasionally blocks shots, but is usually more concerned with breakout skating and speed?

That's a great question. Since you do occasionally block shots, I would recommend the AS-V Pro's since you know you're getting the very best impact protection for when that time comes. You'll still be able to break out with speed. The FT6 Pro's are for the east-to-west player who really wants minimal weight and a low profile, and who isn't necessarily stepping into the shooting lane. It really comes down to what you value more; impact protection or a low-profile/lightweight fit.

Is the fit very different between these and the Jetspeed FT6 pro? Just looking for my U11 kid. Skinny kid.

The Tacks line will be a bit more bulky which offers more coverage and protection. The JetSpeed line has a very lightweight design that maximizes mobility. They fit the same, but these are the main differences between the two lines.
