I agree, he already did a video on Derozan's hot start this season, but it was filled with "this shouldn't work, let's see if he can keep it up" types of comments that I didn't really enjoy. He stands out a unique talent playing a style that isn't supposed to work in today's NBA (thank you free-throws!), and I would have appreciated a deeper look into HOW Derozan was making it work vs off-hand criticism. It almost seemed like a mystery to Coach Nick that Dero was "getting away" with the types of shots he takes. His footwork is probably the primary reason he "gets away" with all those things Nick pointed out in the earlier video.
This is a great video. The analysis of the different types of offense utilised by each team was articulated well and support for those statements were strong and evident. Can you give us any insight on the Warriors meltdowns near the end of the game?
BBALLBREAKDOWN hey coach what do you think of the spurs this year? im not happy with how much they depend on kawai. hes a great player but id like to see the whole team get involved more. what do you think? a video on this would make my day
BBALLBREAKDOWN now a video on how often the refs apply the rules depending on the team's strength and weakness.. like why the Celtics get a lot of games refed towards their strengths like rough will loose wisle and so on
it's nice to see a video praising the Raptors, and I've been genuinely interested in learning about how the team is so efficient offensively when they abstain from following the trends featured in the other top offences, such as shooting a ton of threes and passing the ball at a high rate. Great video Guys!
Greetings from Russia, coach! I've been following The Conversation for years now and, finally, decided to acknowledge your tremendous work in a written form. Can you hear me nodding in approval? Thank you for highlighting the beauty of the game and sharing the knowledge about it! Much appreciated.
I want to truly thank you for taking your time to develop these stats and observations, you have a great way with teaching. Not only is this informative, but it is also actionable with real time application. Do you have any information on the Brooklyn Nets or Dleague? From what I studied the majors use the minors to tryout different game strategies, I would love to compare and contrast the effectiveness and how they translate over.
Really loved the video coach! Keen for some more quality content... Maybe on the Ball Brothers and Chino Hills if possible! Can't wait for the bright future of BBALLBREAKDOWN
Wow this video is insanely informative! I would like to see a video like that but in a more general context such as how each of these ways of attacking can be executed ideally backed up by clips of good executions by various teams.
Coach Nick, this is some high tech sports watchin' right here. My new favorite show certainly. Am I late in asking for the "How the Best NBA Defenses Defend" video? I am a Rockets fan so I hate The Spurs, but I admire their simplicity. The chart shows it clearly on offense. Curious to see how this same group compares on defense based on these same categories + defending the 3 point line.
This video is GREAT! Coach, I have a question that what is biggest deference coach Mike brown and Lue's Cavs offense? Players don't change a lot, but system looks very different.
BBALLBREAKDOWN sorry coach, yes David Blatt, I really like his European style offense, but it didn't work with Lebron and NBA basketball which means really depends individual skill. But, Lue's cavs offense very fun to watch and has been working well with them. I can see Coach Lue uses a lot of simple and successful half court sets which is embodied from other team. But, I still don't know what is big difference. I wonder it may American vs European style and this is why Cavs's "American" style works well with American players.
You'd think with all these advance stats teams be better prepared for which ever offense to expect every night ..Not really the case in this era of basketball Great Video btw
Just went through your archive and found the Brooklyn Nets, I'm curious of your perspective with their new personnel, head coach Steve Atkinson and Jeremy Lin
I would like to see a video that explains why the Jazz are so much better this year, at least in terms of their record, something that is made even more interesting because they've experienced multiple key injuries to players like Favors, Hill, and even to Hayward who was out for a couple games.
it'd be interesting if you were to do this video again for this season, given that the raps changed their offensive style to less ISO and more ball movement and 3s and are still top 3 in offensive ratings.
It's quite obvious that the ball dominant era is slowly ending the NBA. The days of give it to the guy to take yout the promise land is stupid and outdated. A mid 2000s team would get waxed by one of the more modern upbeat offenses. This is the way showtime lakers and 90s bulls dominated. People look at jordan highlights and see one on one plays but overlook how great he was off the ball and how he helped to facilitate the offense. Building a modern day offense must include players who can play off the ball. It's a must in today's NBA
Michael Lee It's Coach Nick. The video tend to be simplified rather than in-depth and lengthy. Personally, I'd enjoy a bit more detail but I understand that most viewers just want a quick fix.
Hey honestly I agree, it would have been nice to see the probable ECF winner Cavs on here too. Just wanted to point out that Coach probably has good reasons not to include the Cavs and isn't a hater or anything
BBALLBREAKDOWN , i listened your conversation with coach Dave on BBALL app few days ago, and that question pooped out, you was going with Turner which i remember and in big coincidence Denver played Indiana today in London. Denver blow them from building, but my biggest take from that game is how Jokic take Turner to school. I was wondering did your changed your mind, and do you think that Jokic has quality to play on some contender team?
Can you make a video about the Knicks and their current situation? Should they blow up their roster and if yes, how is their future going to look like? Could they get rid of Melo and Noah? Should they build around Porzingis?
He seems to be a little frustrated lately. I hope that he's going to waive his no trade clause and leaves NY for the Clippers. Chris Paul is his buddy, California is sunny and his wife is not going to complain about it because LA is big enough. It annoys me when Porzingis doesn't get any touches on a posession just because Melo thinks it's a good idea to take a stupid isolation-three. Do you know if it's possible to cancel Noah's contract or is he going to sit on the Knicks' bench for the next four years?
This channel is a gem.
Video idea for you. How the Ws can beat the Cavs and how the Cavs can beat the Ws. Like which plays each team should use a lot more often
yeah, also really curious why Warriors lose to Cavs, or maybe explain how/why Warriors have these 4th quarter meltdowns.
+PUGE “PUGEPUGEPUGE” BUY ^👍
they just did...
You should do a video one Derozan's footwork on pull-up jumpshots; it's beautiful, and he's become my favorite player to watch.
Can you give us any insight on the Warriors meltdowns near the end of the game?
+Inferno cadet (Marc Caramoan) thanks!! And stay tuned, in working on something about Ws
I hate how people are commenting on how Cleveland isnt on here, all there real consistent offense comes from 2 players, thats not a team.
Awesome video Coach!
+Vortex Luigi Rosalina 55 thx!!
BBALLBREAKDOWN no problem!
BBALLBREAKDOWN hey coach what do you think of the spurs this year? im not happy with how much they depend on kawai. hes a great player but id like to see the whole team get involved more. what do you think? a video on this would make my day
I hope Coach breaks down how Rockets went from 8th to 3rd seed. Would be interesting.
Great video and you talked about the Raptors. A+ in my books
thanks coach been waiting for another vid from u guys. they're great.
+Aidan Guthrie awesome, thx!!
BBALLBREAKDOWN now a video on how often the refs apply the rules depending on the team's strength and weakness.. like why the Celtics get a lot of games refed towards their strengths like rough will loose wisle and so on
Dang this video is crazy good! So much great information to soak in and look out for the next time I watch NBA games! Thanks Coach!
+1023nick thanks so much!!! 💪🏀👍
Thanks for showing love to the raptors!
it's nice to see a video praising the Raptors, and I've been genuinely interested in learning about how the team is so efficient offensively when they abstain from following the trends featured in the other top offences, such as shooting a ton of threes and passing the ball at a high rate. Great video Guys!
Your content is getting better and better! Do you know what happened to Pro shooting systems? Their videos used to be so good!
Very nice video! I loved how the graph was organized and how you explained it and broke it down. Well done.
+24Eagle11 thanks so much! 💪🏀👍
Greetings from Russia, coach! I've been following The Conversation for years now and, finally, decided to acknowledge your tremendous work in a written form. Can you hear me nodding in approval? Thank you for highlighting the beauty of the game and sharing the knowledge about it! Much appreciated.
Great video coach! One of your best
+Richard Pearce really appreciate it!
This is one of the best basketball videos I've seen in a long time. Great work Coach.
This is just pure gold-must watch
Awesome amount of work; truly commendable how much knowledge you have and how much work you put into your videos. Amazing stuff.
I want to truly thank you for taking your time to develop these stats and observations, you have a great way with teaching. Not only is this informative, but it is also actionable with real time application.

As always coach, great analysis and insights. Been following your channel for a long time and had made me appreciate the game even more.
Easily the Best Basketball Channel on Any Social Media.. Great work Coach.
+Limitless Waley wow, Thanks!!
Really loved the video coach! Keen for some more quality content... Maybe on the Ball Brothers and Chino Hills if possible! Can't wait for the bright future of BBALLBREAKDOWN
Nice to see such a long video!
One of your best videos ever cause you did everything like normal but you didnt shit talk the Raptors like always. Youre the GOAT
Whoa, this is a fantastic analysis, thank you coach! Looking forward other videos like this!
I'm a Raptors fan but in my opinion the 6 best teams are:
1. Warriors
2.Cavs
3. Rockets
4. Spurs
5.Raptors
6. Jazz
This is one of my especially favorite breakdowns. Great work, Coach.
+Fist of the World King awesome, thanks!!
Fascinating indeed. Best video and analysis in a long time coach
+kite0impulse thanks! I'm thinking the same thing too. Big thanks to Brendan Ware for the research and graphs
Wow this video is insanely informative! I would like to see a video like that but in a more general context such as how each of these ways of attacking can be executed ideally backed up by clips of good executions by various teams.

Awesome video man, you just got a new subscriber. I'm glad that I stumbled across this in the side bar.
i love these videos, this is one of the best you've done coach!
WOW! That was great, like a graduate course in BBall! Thanks Coach!
great stuff as always coach!
Will you do a video on Nikola Jokic dropping dimes for the Nuggets?
+Mad Ayesha thanks!! And it might be the next one!!
it's great to see the Raptors get some praise
Great analytics Coach, amazing. Keep it up!
One of the greatest NBA videos of the year... All competent NBA fans should see this.
+Josiah Brady THX!! 💪🏀👊
Maybe a video contrasting these to the bottom four offenses, Coach? Or would watching hours of game film from scrub teams be too much?
Great breakdown Coach!
Very nice video. Good to see a coach's perspective.
How to have a great modern day offense in today's NBAStep 1: Shoot 3-pointers Step 2: Repeat Step 1
Not at all. That's only helps, but not really necessary.
I guess you just ignored the Raptors part of this video then.
blazefire131 Like the Mongols, Derozan is the exception
blazefire131 nah, didn't work for the warriors who blew a 3-1 lead in the finals
Cleveland relies on three pointers just as much as Golden State, so it worked for them.
Amazing content quality and entertaining analysis! Great video overall coach!
I love the graphics @bballbreakdown . Would it be possible to see some historical data and what various championship teams generally ran?
Absolutely amazing vid
would lov to see the same thing with defence
+Sam Dawkins thanks and stay tuned!!
The low post split is so simple but effective
Great video Coach!!
Can we hope to see some Euroleague breakdowns anytime soon?
this is definitely my favorite video of yours, great content.
Great video, also cavs would've been interesting to look at too.
I really liked that diagram you showed at the beginning showing the percentage of plays they run. #Imin
Great video coach, keep em coming!
can you PLEASE make a video on why the Knicks are struggling now? we were a top 3 seed in December but now are just trash
melokid99 becuz their trash. I was a Knicks fan but now I like the warriors . Knicks are my 2ND favourite team
BeefyBoy ummm bandwagon much?
you played bad teams... did you see your schedule? No tough games until about 3 weeks ago.
BeefyBoy bandwagon
most stereotypical comment by a warriors fan
Awesome breakdown coach! 👍🏻 thanks
Really great graphical breakdown
simply brilliant analysis
This is very interesting, love it, thanks coach
absolutely amazing video my man
Love your work Coach :)
+Claude Aranui thanks!!!
Great video coach. keep it up !
Let's do a video like this on the worst 4 teams and see which way the graphs goes.!! Awesome video coach.
This video is GREAT! Coach, I have a question that what is biggest deference coach Mike brown and Lue's Cavs offense? Players don't change a lot, but system looks very different.
+ito haruya Mike Brown?? You mean David Blatt?
BBALLBREAKDOWN sorry coach, yes David Blatt, I really like his European style offense, but it didn't work with Lebron and NBA basketball which means really depends individual skill. But, Lue's cavs offense very fun to watch and has been working well with them. I can see Coach Lue uses a lot of simple and successful half court sets which is embodied from other team. Coach this may just be your best video.
You'd think with all these advance stats teams be better prepared for which ever offense to expect every night ..Not really the case in this era of basketball Great Video btw
Excellent analysis!!
Very good video!! It's going to help me in my games
Do a video on the Bucks defense or team in general?
What an amazing video, thanks Coach!
+RJ31607 thx so much! I need a vacation now, ha
Just went through your archive and found the Brooklyn Nets, I'm curious of your perspective with their new personnel, head coach Steve Atkinson and Jeremy Lin
youll appreciate today's basketball more with these contrasting styles. great job coach
Well done coach. Awesome!
I would like to see a video that explains why the Jazz are so much better this year, at least in terms of their record, something that is made even more interesting because they've experienced multiple key injuries to players like Favors, Hill, and even to Hayward who was out for a couple games.
Cuts and off ball screens are the hardest actions to defend, since it requires good team communications.
wonderful video as always
it'd be interesting if you were to do this video again for this season, given that the raps changed their offensive style to less ISO and more ball movement and 3s and are still top 3 in offensive ratings.
Amazing video, earned that like and favorite.
Coach! Can you please making a video discussing why the Knicks are imploding?
This video got me even more hyped for the playoffs.
Damn what a good breakdown
Nice breakdown!
Coach Nick! Request for a Sacramento Kings related video please? Thanks, all love to you and your videos :D
Thanks coach. This video is a doozy
+William Santiago I had to wrassle it, lol! 💪🏀👊
Please coach! Do an analysis on the guard Tyler Ulis! He is such a sleeper! He deserves more minuets, if you see his games. Please coach!
Cool idea for a video. Very informative
nice analysis

Nice and beefy, love this.
Do a video on Chino Hills please!
really good video. thanks
Why shorten the top offensive efficiency teams down to 4 when the Cavs are just a shade below the Spurs?
Minnesota Nice Guy Because doing 5 teams would mean a much longer and confusing video?
Michael Lee It'd take maybe another 3-4 minutes and it would hardly be confusing..
Minnesota Nice Guy Well I guess maybe? Although, even in this video I thought some parts were a little rushed
Great video, I learned a lot to help me.
and its funny that 3 out 4 teams are in the west, now i know how lebron makes it to the finals every time
and that's whhy lebron sleeps his way through the Playoffs until EFC
Yep, only the raptors can give him a real challenge cuz they took them to 6 even tho Lowry and Demar were playing like trash.
I want the Raptors to trash Lebron.
Luis Senora honestly👌
eastern teams gets the worst stats every season...
Great video coach but why didnt u put Cleveland on chart ?
Is there going to be a defensive video? Thanks.
Nice work
If you could do the same thing with defense as far as how the best teams in the NBA defend these types of offenses that would be great.
good job coach
not a gsw fan at ALL but watching that ball move is just pure orgasmic...
+justmakemeaname haha, get on that bandwagon then!!
AYE #WeTheNorth
The best free bball content in the net.
Coach, i'm wondering would you still take Miles Turner over Nikola Jokic to build your franchise? Great video btw.. :-)
+Sammy Gravano thanks!! And I feel like this was just asked in some other video and I think I'd go with Turner but I don't know if I can commit
BBALLBREAKDOWN , i listened your conversation with coach Dave on BBALL app few days ago, and that question pooped out, you was going with Turner which i remember and in big coincidence Denver played Indiana today in London. King Joffrey he should go to the sixers, he would fit well with Simmons, and embiid
