Blue Angels are such a treat to see. The humidity & weather yesterday was perfect for some amazing condensation effects. They will always hold a special place for me because when I was 6 years old and my family were newly arrived in Florida, US in 1994, my dad heard about an air show at nearby MacDill AFB. As a little kid I already liked planes, so my dad figured it would be cool to go look at some planes with me. I was absolutely blown away by how many planes were there just sitting on the ground, and then the Blue Angels did an aerobatic performance. Mind-blowing. The Hornet is still my favorite plane.
👌👏👏👏...Hi Elwyn, absolutely fantastic footage as always mate!!...beautiful scenery, golden gate bridge, Alcatraz Island, & The Brilliant Blue Angels display team!!..EPIC!!!!👏👍🤪.... What a superb video yet again!!!...have a fab time mate!!😎👍 cheers Paul
The Blue Angels are have a core childhood memory without me ever seeing them at a show. Back in the 1986 I was playing in my front yard in the foothills of the Utah mountains and a single Blue Angel pilot flew over me inverted and he was so low that I could see his face looking at me as I looked at him. It was crazy its such a core memory I can still see his face almost 40 years later.
I always love hearing the audio also, the lead has always had a sing-song style comm which I find to be a fun juxtaposition to the super precision flying!
Outstanding👍 I lived in the Marina for 24 years and enjoyed Fleet week every year from Thursday to Sunday, Thursday and Fridays, being practice 🤣 Now retired in Thailand I can still feel my condo on Pierce Street shaking , the smell of aviation fuel. 🤣Having taken tens of thousands of photos these flight formations are etched into my mind forever.🙏
man what a great day for Vapes!! I usually go on the friday before but didn't wanna risk the weather being bad like is has been after the heatwaves!! Looks like I missed a great show!! Glad to see you here in the SF Bay Area as well! You appear to be in the area that I usually am when I go too! Not too far from the yacht club... As cool as this is I am still envious of your mach loop videos! Great job with this video though!! Was like being there!!
The Blue Angels fly directly over our home in San Francisco, so close that you can see the pilot's helmet. In 1983, one of the Blue Angles flew down California Street between buildings causing the mayor, Diane Feinstein to threaten to cancel Fleet Week. That was probably the last time the pilot ever flew for the Navy. Feinstein was absolutely livid at the Navy.
My parents took me to BA show at the Oakland Airport, I believe late 1950’s and there was a crash in the SF Bay. Can’t find the specific information with this crash, but I have never forgotten the impact the Blue’s had on me all my life. Between you, The Thunderbirds, and the Canadian Snowbirds, the aerobatic risky ballet you share gives me chills of delight👍! What a fantastic achievement, plus you get the Golden Gate backdrop! I envy you pilots! Again, thank you for your dedication and talent. Wow!
#4 and 6 were missing, replaced by two #7's. And I saw your note about the sneak pass. Great job. I got to see them this year at NAS Oceana. Then got to meet them afterwards at a party at the Oceanfront where the Navy Band was playing. But being at the SF bay, you don't get to see the ground work they do I suppose.
Superb tight and elegant four ship mixed with a get up and go two ship display. Could do with better "smoke on, smoke" off commands or am i nit picking. These bigger planes are easier to follow or is it just my fading eyesight - no, remember Phantoms??? Superb as usual Elwyn👍👍🤞🤞🤞
I wonder the same thing. When they did a five group and smoke came on and off with different Ships. I didn’t know if that meant something significant or they were having problems with their smoke. All in all on amazing performance!
Anywhere from the warming hut, Chrissy Field to aquatic Park. Marina Green is great spot . The airshow generally starts about 12:30 PM but the blue angels start later in the day about 3ish PM. Don’t even think about driving take public transport. If you can the marina is gridlock.
I'm sorry, how the heck do they cockpit-to-cockpit, with the top plane inverted, for so long, have been trying to work out how they do it? The lower plane must pick the attitude and the upper plane flies a reference distance away, because it would be impossible for them to both be looking at the same reference spot unless they where reading each others minds.
Wonderful to see my beloved Bay Area in this video (I know live in Europe). And what a show! Very entetaining! But it's a bit like watching football. Can't take my eyes off it although I know that what I'm actually witnessing is horribly violent (these are weapons of mass murder we're watching), dehumanizing, and pretty much the worst of what America has to offer. I wish they'd save the taxpayers money and stay home next year.
This is better than actually being there! Your photography is stunning! Thank you!
Wow, thank you! 😊
What makes it nice is when the skies are blue and clear, ty Elwyn for the upload. 👍😀
Yes it does not sure about today though

Thanks for watching 👀 it certainly is 👌
The Blue Angels are teh best. The Blue Angels Netflix program is great!
Yes totally agree, and the more I see them the more I appreciate them
I always love hearing the audio also, the lead has always had a sing-song style comm which I find to be a fun juxtaposition to the super precision flying!
Those pics at the end were amazing - nice work
Thank you very much!
Had a chance to work two air shows in the early 80s... something I will never forget. Navy league cadet program based in Tustin
The shots with the Golden Gate in the background are stunning!
Thanks I was made up 👌

Thailand is nice bro, but if your Marina condo has a beach front view then I'd rather stay there
Best camera work hands down.

Never been there , ple give me a tips , im planning tommotrow saturday, what time and whe is the best spots to watch? And what to bring. Is it free?
@@allanbetter8339 late afternoon around 3 PM. I would recommend Crissy Field area. Get there early. Weather may not be good tomorrow. Enjoy!
@@aviation-action do i need to bring folding chairs? I have 7 year ild daughter, is it free?
@@allanbetter8339 yes it’s free. The marina green is great for folding chairs. Chrissy Field also.

Cheers Bob, This was a practice so dought all of them had the smoke on off
Who is your favourite. Red arrows or blue angels?.
Blu angels, just bigger jets
@@ElwynR Exactly, the Super Hornet size reminds me of the days of the Phantom. Big, powerful aircraft.
🇺🇸💯
Go Navy! 🇺🇸
Lots of GU-11's in the pattern.
Im planning tommorrow, never seen thos before, where is the good location for viewing? And what time ? And what to bring?
Anywhere from the warming hut, Chrissy Field to aquatic Park. Marina Green is great spot . The airshow generally starts about 12:30 PM but the blue angels start later in the day about 3ish PM. Don’t even think about driving take public transport. If you can the marina is gridlock.
@@bigwaidave4865 thank you
you have the Blues radio Frequency do you have the frequency that the Fleetweek airboss uses this year I went out Friday and they changed
No not me sorry , the guy next to me had a scanner
@@ElwynR thank you sorry the Blues didn't fly today
We are on our way home! we will get there Monday night lol
Great footage. What camera do you use?
Video is sony ax53 uk version
Can someone explain why the smoke from the jets seem to be randomly on and off? Was it malfunctions or was that by design?
🎉❤😊
How do you find the frequency they use on the radio?
Not my radio sorry
Am I seeing that right? There's 2 F models and both are Blue Angel number 7s?
yes I think spare jets are being used
@@ElwynR I do remember they have 1 two seat jet which is usually number 7 that's a spare, never saw 2 number 7s like this before
Where did you film from?
Gateway pavilion Pires I believe
Do they fly under the bridge?
Absolutely not.

It's all about keeping peace ✌️
The military is way smarted than you think, all pilots are women. Female kind way smarter, dexterous , capable
