Simple DIY … Tip from a measurement technician … Unscrew the pointed tip from the dial gauge and measure with the flat end to avoid deviations from the arrow radius in the vertical measuring tip radius.
I made one,.... it works sometimes,......I'm redoing the part that holds the shafts because it must move up and down to measure the shafts,...I will use angle iron bolt it to a board weld on a nut the weld a V on top of a bolt,....then the gauge can zero out.
Was your arrow spine aliened from factory? When you placed the nok on the arrow did you just put it on randomly or place the 0 on the arrow's spine mark?
I had to chuckle when I firts saw the jig, then I saw it action. I performed better than I thought! I would replace the dial indicator with one from Starret or Mahr.
Yeah man, it’s made of solid oak and pretty dialed in! We actually have an instructional page at shootingtime.com/archery/how-to-make-arrow-spine-tester/
Aaron Ward I don’t own one but have watched Dorge demonstrate it in his shop a few times. My friend Eric in Texas has one. I haven’t done any testing with them.
@@Shootingtimearchery i made one but with dougus fir wood coming out good. the material prices are way wrong lol. the ball weight is $14 on Ebay. and oak wood is $30.
@@Shootingtimearchery nope u didn't say anything about that u said 28 inches and was using a carbon arrow... need to mention both types alot of people used wood arrows for traditional style... u missed lots of things in video about this tester i couldn't use mine for 2 weeks cause i didn't know how to use it correctly.

Placed where the manufacture had it. I wouldn’t bank on any company’s “spine aligning”. Take care.
