Allegedly the person who called 911 found Ethan and that's when she ran outside but fainted and someone walking by saw, and grabbed the phone to talk to dispatchers, and said SHE was unconscious. There was a lot of action that attracted the attention of other passers by. And that explains the weird 911 call

Unless they have video proof of their whereabouts through Ring doorbells or cctv which is completely possible in these days with so many people have video cameras all over the interior and exterior of houses. They could have a video of a person sleeping on their couch or at a 24 hour diner eating the whole time. Typically if police do rule someone out completely then they have solid proof. They just don’t clear someone on a whim.

I think it is possible to rule out specific close people that would be first suspects. If there's no chance they could have been in the vicinity, it is legitimate to rule them out. The police need to focus their attention where it will yield the probative information. If some people can be ruled out, that is actually helpful.

Just a theory - you have no evidence that happened. Too many rumours abound in this case! Kaylee's dad said she was apparently attacked far more savagely than the others and her wounds didn't match what the coroner stated. Some have gone on to speculate she was decapitated! Again, just rumour - no evidence. The current suspect is the Food truck hoodie guy (Jack S), although cleared by police, he has a very suspect alibi of a five hour drive to a cabin in the woods. He has also been shown in hunting photos using knives to dismember kills. He was allegedly thrown out of his fraternity for abuse/anger issues and supposedly chucked out of the bar on the day of the murders for creeping out women. So many rumours, but no evidence...

@@samanthab1923 There’s actually a quite convoluted rumor which actually may be factual about the initial 911 call. The story is that Bethany (?) and Dylan spotted Ethan on the floor in a puddle of blood, grabbed a cell phone and ran outside to call 911. While one was making the phone call, the other one passed out in the yard. The one on the phone was so frantic and unable to speak coherently that one of their friends (who i assume they’d already called) arrived and took over speaking to the 911 operator. This person wasn’t clear as to what was actually going on, so they reported to the operator that they needed an ambulance for an unconscious person, assuming that the girl on the lawn was the one who needed help. In the meantime the girls were able to convey to the visitors what they’d seen inside the house. At least one person and possibly more went inside to check things out, thereby possibly contaminating the crime scene. - I have zero knowledge if this is factual.

Thanks again for another excellent recap. I love you guys!!! I have to take a moment to go off in to the weeds and address those that are asking, "why were the two girls sleeping together"... so here is my take. I am a married woman who is 60 years of age, and I have been doing this with my best friend for years and years, every time she comes for a few days she sleeps with me, and my husband goes to the guest bedroom. Like most girls, of any age, we like to talk, catch up on each others lives, gossip, giggle, make plans ...etc..., this usually goes on into the wee hours of the morning and I don't want to keep my husband up waiting on us. It's also not uncommon to eventually lay down and get "comfy" as we continue to talk. Soon we are yawning not long after we are both sleeping. According to the reports the two girls in the same bed have been best friends since they were kids. On this night they have been out drinking. I speak from experience when I say to sit on the bed gabbing with your bestie, after a night of drinking, (yes, even this old lady still parties once in a while), eventually the alcohol will make the eyelids droop, and it harder to complete sentences, so you close your eyes, and drift off to sleeping and soon after your friend is out too. Often the next day we are both apologizing to the other for "passing out while you were talking"...which then sends us into a laughing fit because we have no idea who zonked out first. I am sure I am not the only adult female who does this with her best friend?

Bundy came to mind for me when he randomly attacked those college girls in their beds. Sometimes there isn’t a personal connection or a motive beyond someone who just wants to kill for the thrill of it. I don’t think the person was aware that there were roommates on the first floor. It seems risky to attack people on the 2nd floor and 3rd and leaving possible witnesses on the ground floor. I just hope this doesn’t go cold. I can’t imagine losing a loved one that way.

Firstly, my deep condolences to the family's and friends of all of the victims. As for what do I think.

I was waiting for you to do this one , great recap ! A few things I've found , some fact , some speculation. 1) An article on Newsbreak (possibly 'The Independant') stated that one girl was given a receipt at work with words 'You better watch out !' by a customer. 2) 'Harsh Reality' (not confirmed by police) said one of roommates came screaming out of house and fainted. Person 'on scene' took her phone calling police without yet having knowledge of murders. Ethan was found outside bedroom , near kitchen , and this is what she saw. 3) The 2 girls were in same room. This is a horrific case and the father of one of girls has actually put more info out than police.
I believe it's someone a bit older that knows the at least girls , possibly all 4. He's owned the knife some time and still has it. Police have said , but not confirmed , killer came in through patio doors. I question who was main target. Since they won't tell Ethan and Xana's timeline , leads to lot of speculation. Insinuation has been made that Maddies murder was the most brutal. I believe it was Xana that had her father come and change lock on door , another reason for mystery as to the target. I just hope police are more knowledgeable than they appear and this psycho , madman is caught soon !

The fact that he stabbed 4 people is a mystery in it self it takes a lot if strength to continue that repetitive motion especially if they all fought back. He has to be in excellent condition. It had to be very messy too he must have had blood all over himself how did he leave the house like that ? I doubt he had time to clean up so someone had to have seen something or maybe he lived near by or had someone help him. This case is so mysterious and I hope that they find this monster soon. Honestly, if these kids were hosting "small gatherings" of college co-eds MOST nights of the week [presumably, by frat/sorority standards] I'd look HARD at any close neighbors who were 'regular' permanent suburban residents; NOT unafilliated to the university..
    HEAR ME OUT--
Years ago, & LONG before times were so economically tough for middle class Americans, my parents owned an extremely expensive two-story home near-by to a famous Long Island, NY university. They jointly poured their life savings into this home, bc it was in a great school district & my step-dad's 2 boys were in grade-school at the time. The property had exorbitant biennial taxes attached to it, but, they thought it a worthy investment that would build in value if cared for properly.. Their nextdoor neighbors moved out 4 yrs later & the home was sold to a man who bought the residential property & [illegally] turned it into a multi-bedroom rental property-- specifically to board college co-eds. Within 3 months it became a local "party house". The neighborhood was in chaos & my parents who were regular people with 9-5 jobs & very long commutes had to deal with loud music, frat parties of 200+ people every day of the week, graffiti, kids driving onto & PARKING on their lawn, burglaries, a rapidly declining property value AND a disinterested Suffolk County Police force who literally did nothing, university officials who ignored ALL complaints, and ALL this WHILE the their yearly town property taxes remained a whopping $18K.
The neighborhood deteriorated so quickly that selling their home at 'fair market value' or anything near it was an impossibility.
My step dad who is NOT at ALL a violent man was driven nearly to the point of violent confrontation over the situation within 6 months & I'm not exaggerating. *_Do NOT underestimate the anger of a home owner driven to sleeplessness & financial ruin_*
by "innocent" college kids who think partying at high volume until 4AM on Tuesday nights is their God given right.

There is another logical answer. 🤔 a person has come forward on social media claiming to be a friend of one of the surviving roommates and the person that initially talked to 911 from roommates phone. This is how they said it went down.
The surviving roommates went to the second floor and saw Ethan outside of Xana’s bedroom, and it was carnage. They also saw that the sliding glass door was open. They panicked and ran out the front door and in their extreme distress immediately fainted. A friend arrived and saw the girl fainted, picked up the surviving roommates phone and called 911 explaining that someone was unresponsive - referring to the surviving roommate, NOT referring to any of the 4 victims as this person had not entered the house yet and had no knowledge of the carnage inside. If this turns out to be factual it makes perfect sense.

This will be more difficult because hunting is big part of Idaho culture. So I'm sure many people own hunting knives. This is pure speculation but I recently watched a CSI episode that was eerily familiar and the killer hit a house that was shared by 6-7 young showgirls and one boyfriend of one of the girls. He first herded the girls (one-by-one) into a single room with a gun pointing at them and tied them up. Then he took the girls out one at a time to a different room and killed them with a knife.
Maybe the killer was inspired by that episode? Maybe it's purely coincidence? But that is how the killer in the episode was able to subdue 5 "young/strong, and in a few cases, slightly intoxicated early-20s co-eds". 🤷🏼‍♀️

  • @VTPSTTU
    @VTPSTTU 2 роки тому +12

    Thanks for the recap.
I'm going to offer a hypothesis, but I consider this idea to be very preliminary. In many ways, I expect to be proved wrong at some point.
I think someone came to the house to kill one of the two women upstairs. I don't know whether he really knew that much about the house or whether he's just a proficient killer. He got into their room and killed them both. In the commotion, they made enough noise that Ethan and/or Xana heard something. I think Ethan came into the living room to start to investigate and saw the killer coming down the stairs and covered in blood. I think he rushed back towards Xana's room and the two of them tried to resist the killer in her room. I think that the killer killed both of them in the room and then escaped the house. I'm not sure that the killer locked all of the bedroom doors. I've heard that the two surviving roommates eventually opened a door and saw a scene of horrible bloodshed. They ran outside while calling 9-1-1, but the one talking to the dispatcher fainted as she talked. Another friend picked up the phone and completed the call.
I'm not sure whether I believe that the killer is really only twenty or twenty-one years old. I've heard that Kaylee and Madison were in the same bed. I'm sure that when they first awoke during the attack, they thought that someone was playing a prank on them and just going too far. By the time that they realized that they were mortally wounded, they were too weak to fight effectively. Even so, I think someone would have to be very confident and very skilled to attack two women at once with a knife. Likewise, the killer disabled Ethan before Xana could call 9-1-1. Maybe she was frozen in terror and didn't try to call, but many people are pretty good about doing something with their phones in any situation. Ethan seemed to be a fairly fit guy, and for the killer to neutralize him quickly also points to skill with the knife and physical strength. This kind of knife skill and likely physical strength makes me think that the killer is a little older than early twenties. Granted, some killers can be very proficient at a very young age. I'm just struck by what seems to be tremendous skill, strength, and confidence in his attacking all of these people with a knife. Maybe he also used a Taser or stun gun. I can understand the police holding back that information.

Apparently the four victims did not lock the bedroom doors before they went to sleep. I have shared a house a couple of times and ALWAYS locked my bedroom door. That might have prevented the killer from easily accessing the bedroom, but who knows?
Unfortunately, with all the activity in discovering the bodies and all, I'm sure it would be quite difficult to ascertain which footprints are the murderer's. It seems that nowadays you need to have security cameras around the whole property. Although that doesn't prevent a crime; just gives a clue as to who might have committed it.
Such a sad situation - may God bless the victims and may they rest in peace.
