That’s EXACTLY like my JR. I take him to the dog park and everyone calls him The Mayor. He loves and greets every human....and bosses all the big dogs around. Pit Bulls (the sweetest dogs at my park), Rottie’s, German Shepherds, Dobie’s. A couple times he’s bit off more than he can chew and he immediately goes belly up and screams like a little girl.
😂😂😂😂😂😂. That’s hilarious but too true! My JRT LOVES humans, but when she sees another dog it’s on!! Except that one dog down the street who she likes. I call him her boyfriend. Sometimes I put her cute dress on hoping he’ll be out that day😂😂
JRTs are a hunting breed, they were bred to go in foxhole after quarry and either flush them out or attack and bring them out. They can hunt hogs too, instinctively JRTs attack the face of prey and that's what makes other Dogs fear them.
My family used to care for a JRT during the weekdays. Our own mix of similar size was mostly chill, didn't cause trouble except with particularly masculine dogs, but that JRT was a bundle of energy looking for an outlet. That guy would sometimes go after other dogs with ZERO hesitation, ESPECIALLY if they were bigger than him. And that's not even mentioning his fondness for chasing cats. It didn't help that I was a teen and inexperienced with dogs, to the point that I couldn't always control the guy even on a leash... It could be a real chore to walk that dog. That's not what it means. It's used as a low growling / alternative to growling. It shows that he's giving up but is not happy with the situation (most likely). // Ethologist
I'm sorry if I upset the owner of this video, but you aren't doing good for your dog's. The Jack Russell is too excited, he needs to be controlled. The German shepherd tried to appease the dog to avoid attack him. You are rewarding the Jack Russell for bad behaviour, that in long term will cause trouble, especially for the German Shepherd, who is trying to do his best to avoid attacking. But in the end his instincts will prevail. And is not his fault but yours.
the JR shouldn't be on the couch, it's sitting higher than the GS. The GS is asking the owner to do something about it because it wants to. Then to pet the JR after encourages the behavior. I have GS with 2 cats so the emphasis is more so.
Notice your Shepherd was snarling and sneezing ? That's indicating, play and an attempt to appease your aggressive Jack (no sneezing) - which you reinforced by praising the Jack. This is not good or funny, your Jack needs to learn some manners. If that was a Rottie, you'd feel different.
A rottie or a GSD wouldn‘t make the situation different...this idiot should correct this jack russels behaviour before the shep has enough...if the shepherd tries to change it and dominate the russel, that will be one dead terrier
I have a mixed terrier with JR in him. He is not afraid of anything but gunfire, thunder, and fireworks. With big dogs, he’s like a mongoose. By the time they snap at him, he’s 3 feet away. No fear.
The Jack Russell knows you will protect him from the German Shepherd. And a German Shepherd knows he will be scold if retaliated like against the Jack Russell. I just like how aware dogs can be sometimes.
My grandad had a rough hair Jack Russel called Dudley, it picked a fight on a much larger X breed (if I had to guess it was doberman x something like a Labrador), the larger dog kept ragging Dudley about and launching him across the garden but even with a ripped ear and blood pouring from his mouth he was coming back for more like it was a game. Absolutely no fear in those dogs. Also just to clarify Dudley jumped a fence to get at the other dog, and it took a few minutes for anyone to get into that garden to break it up, we didn't intentionally allow it to happen.
This is beautiful because it showcases the nature of both breeds. There is no “better” dog here. We see the GS vary between defense and a sort of sensitive feeling-out mode (typical shepherd), and then we have the purpose-built JRT who doesn’t let up and won’t kneel to anyone. Both some of the most amazing dogs in the world❤️
I’ve owned both (currently have a JR) and they are awesome dogs. The GSD doesn’t need to prove anything. My Jack is nicknamed LB (little bastard) for a reason. But as tough as they are, they’re ten times sweeter.
@@rustdesk09 😂😂😂. LB lol. My husband calls our JRT asswipe because she demands a pet on the head, to be picked up, food, etc. She can be rude as hell, but I love my little crazy girl. She’s so entertaining. I’m thinking about getting her her own UA-cam channel.
*_Right on!!! The ‘pure breed’ dog talk irks me sometimes because we humans pit dog breeds against each other. I’m no authority on this but I think all dogs are/were bred with another type of dog to introduce at one time or another a new dog breed. Why does one dog have to be inferior to another?_* *_IMO, that’s akin to saying one ethnicity of mankind is superior to another. Not at all. We all come from Adam and Eve. So I say have your preference of dog breeds without making the other breeds substandard or vilifying them in some way. Let’s keep it real: how many people have owned and reared ALL known and established dog breeds to make a worthwhile comparison of each? I dare say not many if any. 🤔_*
Had a couple of female Jacks years ago, and they would always pull and growl and try to go after Rottweilers and pitbulls while leashed on our walks. They would pull so hard on the leashes that they would damn near choke themselves. Strange thing was, they would often escape and run the neighborhood all day. Always came home without a scratch, so I'm guessing that they didn't go after pitbulls and Rottweilers while they were on their own.
When dogs Sneeze after biting at a dog, it's to let that dog know that it's not gonna kill you. It's a sign of play in dog language. Now notice how the Jack Russell didn't sneeze like the Shepard did after snapping. The Jack wasn't fucking around.
I got my first Jack Russell from a drill sergeant that raised them with German Shepherds. He told me that when the German Shepherd was alive they used to sleep together and the jack russell would ride on the back of the German Shepherd around the yard. However the jack russell was one-year-old when the German Shepherd died. The person I got him from said he needed to leave there because he was really upset so I bought him.
My jack will fight any dog! Goes under the park bench and when bigger dogs crawl to get at her she pounces. She latched on to a greyhounds ear and would not let go. The jack Russell was breed to go down fox holes, that takes balls. Pound for pound they are the toughest dogs.
The shepherd knows he is much bigger when they walk around in the same house you don't think the shepherd realizes size differences? Of course they do.... If im walking around and another human is taller than me do you think I notice? Of course I do... dogs can notice a dog much smaller than them also. Hes just playing around with the Russ... hes not truly scared of it.
@@lolz616 Well I'll tell you this, a dog doesn't even know it's own image in the mirror and this a fact. Please research and maybe the dog does recognize size differences? I'm not so sure. In fact a black crows that you see outdoors everywhere actually DO recognize their own image in a mirror. That Black Crow is smarter than any dog, but I do love dogs because they have a lot of love just like toddlers!
@@chrisrawls8328 This is false. My shepherd barked the 1st time it saw its reflection in the mirror at age 1 and then within the 2nd time never reacted again and instantly knows its there own reflection. Dogs aren't all stupid.. just like humans they vary by intelligence. Shepherds are smart.
@@lolz616 Dogs do not have the ability to recognize their own reflection in a mirror the way humans and some other animals are able to. ... They will always treat their reflection like another dog or just simply ignore it.Mar 16, 2018
This didn't come from me but an article on the subject. Your Shepard simply ignored its own image the second time, because that image was no longer some kind of unknown..
Jack Russell Terriers are bad-ass dogs. Mine is a loveable mush with me, but if she sees another dog, she is at the end of her leash, growling and barking. The hackles on her back are up. She wants to attack. They know no limits and have no fear. I call her my Jack Russell Terror lmao!
No Such Luck Let loose your fearless russell on big dogs then. He will then learn fear and respect. I find funny that small dogs owners are happy that their dog is fearless and aggressive but when dog growls or barks at their dog then all hell breaks lose.
John Don Right because responsible pet owners let their dogs attack other dogs. Smfh. It happens to be a trait of the breed and cannot be suppressed. Why don't you go somewhere else with your troll comments!
I have a Parsons Russel. ( essentially a slightly bigger Jack Russell ) she's a little angel, super inteligent, always there to greet me and follows me everywhere. I couldn't recommend a better small dog, as long as you've got the energy for them.
You’re spot on. I have a fearless JR. We call him Tommy TC (tough cunt) and he isn’t scared of anything and that scares me. i love how the german shepherd sneezes to let jack rustle know hes playing but jack rustle is on alert mode
That's not what it means. It's used as a low growling / alternative to growling. It shows that he's giving up but is not happy with the situation (most likely).
// Ethologist
Heh, what a little firecracker.
Haaahaaa!!! You can't beat a jack russell. Just the best dogs ever.
Ok
Thank you! I noticed that too!
I agree
A rottie or a GSD wouldn‘t make the situation different...this idiot should correct this jack russels behaviour before the shep has enough...if the shepherd tries to change it and dominate the russel, that will be one dead terrier
Rottie* hahaha there soft as shit.. lol
Jack is the boss 😂😂😂😂
I have a mixed terrier with JR in him. He is not afraid of anything but gunfire, thunder, and fireworks. With big dogs, he’s like a mongoose. By the time they snap at him, he’s 3 feet away. No fear.
I got a 15yo JRT; she's a fiery thundercracker. The neighbour's Shetland is almost 3 times her size but afraid of her.
god bless your little buddy...
Jack Russells are always the boss! ;)
The jack russel is serious and the belgium shephard have the time of her life.
Dogs yawning is my favorite thing to watch. Lol They are so funny.
Also just to clarify Dudley jumped a fence to get at the other dog, and it took a few minutes for anyone to get into that garden to break it up, we didn't intentionally allow it to happen.
jacks have the heart the size of a tiger....ferociously loyal....
GSD:Get off my couch.
JR: NO
This is beautiful because it showcases the nature of both breeds.
Why does one dog have to be inferior to another?_*
*_IMO, that’s akin to saying one ethnicity of mankind is superior to another. Not at all. We all come from Adam and Eve. So I say have your preference of dog breeds without making the other breeds substandard or vilifying them in some way. Let’s keep it real: how many people have owned and reared ALL known and established dog breeds to make a worthwhile comparison of each? I dare say not many if any. 🤔_*
If you ever been bitten by Jack Russell then you will understand there power they can bite you're finger off
They may be small but they bite like a mf.
Figures the JR would be the more aggressive. Yet its the big dogs that get the bad rap
I had a Jack Russell/Chihuahua mix for 11 years and let me tell you that little SOB would’ve picked a fight with the Hulk, and probably would’ve won…
Unstoppable force meets immovable object XD
My jack is 12 years old, bad ass old man, love him.
My oldest is 13. Best dogs ever
The Jack Russell is the Alpha.
Alas! Once again the Jack Russell Terrorist shifting canine hierarchy upside down. Best breed on the planet.
German Shepherd showed no aggression till the Jack did. Jack needs to learn some manners. Good luck!
German Shepard growled first
@@Moviemassacre-mc1hl Growled first and got in the jacks face. Idk why big dog owners are so insecure its clear as day who was the agressor lol
Ah... the battle over the chair:
GSD: Hey, I want that...Dad, make him move.
JR: I will destroy you.
Correct that jack russels behaviour before the german shepherd does it. Unless you want a dead Jack
When dogs Sneeze after biting at a dog, it's to let that dog know that it's not gonna kill you. It's a sign of play in dog language. Now notice how the Jack Russell didn't sneeze like the Shepard did after snapping. The Jack wasn't fucking around.
My Jack Russell is afraid of plastic bags but she bark and growl at anyone she please to 😡💕
I had a jack russel, we used to call her a business women, she had no time to play. She would not play with anyone but me.
I thought about getting a rottie now I want a jack Russell
That little guy’s got some fight in him!
beautiful dogs loved this video ty
I got my first Jack Russell from a drill sergeant that raised them with German Shepherds. He told me that when the German Shepherd was alive they used to sleep together and the jack russell would ride on the back of the German Shepherd around the yard. However the jack russell was one-year-old when the German Shepherd died. The person I got him from said he needed to leave there because he was really upset so I bought him.
You'll notice the jack russell is the one on the couch. They are the littlest badasses
Russell's are bad ass dogs
This is not good. Don't leave them together alone.
You're right
Seriously. Nothing cute or funny about that. The Shepard is being incredibly patient. Irresponsible dog owners are the worst
@@nylabo the GSD is literally in the jacks face yelling at him. He got checked hard, by a tiny alpha.
@@watchingyourvideo8029 dude exactly. Big dog owners are so insecure
Uv clearly never had dogs
My jack will fight any dog! Goes under the park bench and when bigger dogs crawl to get at her she pounces. She latched on to a greyhounds ear and would not let go. The jack Russell was breed to go down fox holes, that takes balls. Pound for pound they are the toughest dogs.
I'd love to have this big dog As My own personal gaurd 🐕 Dog
The shepherd doesn't know how big it is and the Jack Russell doesn't know how small it is! Dogs are like children
John Don
Right because responsible pet owners let their dogs attack other dogs. Smfh. It happens to be a trait of the breed and cannot be suppressed. Why don't you go somewhere else with your troll comments!
My JRT is bonkers. Fearless /frenzied. Undeniably the boss.
And damned hard work.
Much like my wife....!
Owner is there, but doggo's not be wanting to hurt each other, so it's a case of who wants it more. Love my Husy an Jack Russel.
Imagine if Jack Russell's were bigger!
Mike Cornejo Perish the thought!
Jack Russels are the alpha male. They are so nice to people but so mean to other dogs.
Not from my experince
that "get him"
I have a Parsons Russel. ( essentially a slightly bigger Jack Russell ) she's a little angel, super inteligent, always there to greet me and follows me everywhere.
I couldn't recommend a better small dog, as long as you've got the energy for them.
Rat terriers are awesome dogs as well. Unlike a JR, the rattie at least has an "off" switch. :-)
Terrier traits on display. It's amazing how fast dogs' reflexes are to avoid snaps by other dogs.
JR are brave beyond their abilities. They are the O.G.
Jack Russells are strict! But you can see this means little, even though the GSD is yawning and licking lips. My friend's JRT almost made 21!
jack russells are fearless, but in a fight..im sorry he would barely put up a fight against a german shepherd XD
You’re spot on. I have a fearless JR. We call him Tommy TC (tough cunt) and he isn’t scared of anything and that scares me. If they ran from trouble they’d be ok because they’d be near impossible to catch but they don’t run from trouble. They run towards it. If a big dog got hold of my boy he’d be in trouble.
Mine lached onto a German sheperds neck and has jumped on to bulldogs ive aslo had friends of mine who's jack Russell's have gone and attacked wayyyy bigger dogs without hesitation.
@@seanpaddy5919 our jack bites the chops of my mother in law's American Staffs terrier who is about 3 times her size, but it's just sparring. Nevertheless our JRT is fearless.
I like the ole yawn and snap trick, the JR I've seen it before buddy.
At 0.22 the Jack is saying 'make my day punk!'
If that German shepherd really turned that Jack Russell would be mincemeat.
Kelly Clay you have admit thought if smaller dogs was bigger then be so dangerous
MY COUCH! MY COUCH MY COUCH FLUFF OFF MY COUCH!
He just likes to feel tall 💕
Jack Russell's are fearless
My Parson Russell just the same. Silly with people, can even get scared, but other dogs! He's a little arsehole with them!
I dogsat a Jack Russell for one month, these little cuties are small but they don't let any dog F with them.
Jack Say Back off,I Don't want play with you.🤣🤣🤣
You can see who the boss is between the two
My sister had a Jack Russel who was like this with every dog he came across.
Except my Staffy. She didn't take any of his shit and she would just stand over him until he submitted.
German Shepard: I’m gonna kill you
Jack Russell: I’m already dead
Years ago we had a German Shepherd who used to hide behind the sofa, from a Jack Russell who used to be brought to our house by its owner. It was a very aggressive snarly dog....I don't think I've ever seen a JR who wasn't.
Thank god Jack Russell's are only small dog they are like the honey badgers of the dog world ctid 😮
That Jack could own the German Shepherd, no problem!! 👌👌👌
This German Shepherd for this Jack Russel terrier would make a good multi pet household
Jack had no fear in his heart haha
Got a 16 year old blind rat terrier all of 13lbs. He still takes no gruff from any dog.
My Jack Russell is CC. Best dog ever had. Loyal and will not bow down to a much larger dog. Plus, she kills any rodent or snake. Excellent family and home companion.
lol the german shepherd is big and strong but the jack russel is crazy.
"ARE YOU PREPARED TO F***ING KILL ME?"
That little jack russell will have a hard time socialising with other dogs outside.
really?
It is just like my aunt's jack Russell Sasha
Never mess with a Jack Russell
Small dogs can be aggressive its in their nature. I had a chihuahua and Shepherd as kid and they did same thing. Amazing how Shepherd keeps its cool. If they only knew how powerful they can be
The Shepherd knows he could win a real fight but thats not his intentions here he is playing its his pack mate.
