- Richard Lewis, Whitemill, contractors, carting silage from one farm to another, via a weighbridge, because it's being sold. Previous day's load was 27 t. and there has been one of 32 I was told. Here the tractor and trailer are pounding up the hill away from the farm and the sound is awesome!
Filmed in Carmarthenshire, Wales, UK. - Авто та транспорт
I love that sound!
Glad of that. So did I.
Thanks for that. Always interesting to have some extra info.
You can't have everything you like. Wouldn't life be dull? Soon be over all your favourite things and nothing left . . .
Just plugged my headphones to hear that lovely sound. Great challenge to the Deere
Thanks Hendrik. We are still windy but sunny days help to warm it up- a little!
You'll hear some more when I upload this afternoon's power-harrowing uphill with this beast!
that sound of a john deere im so used to it inside the cab
Yes, she was giving her all, all right!
Yes, I believe you would! Thanks Pat.
Thank you for the video bit.
Great video Alan! Good sound that JD!
We have a Smith 3-Axle on our farm in Ireland. Got 24 t of Wheat in it this year. We use a New Holland 7030 to pull it around. Their a great trailer and made by a great guy whose a friend of the family!
Thanks Trev.
Thanks very much.
Good one Alan.
Dry,sunny, but still freezing during the night.
Next week maybe this weekend will be better.
Listen to that beast roar!
Power tractor! Nothing runs like a Deere eheh
agree
Nice one Alan,Great Power from that John Deere,Trevor.'''
Nice one Alan and yes that was some load in that trailer.
Sure sounded like it was using every horse in it to get er up that hill.
Good video Alan a lot of weight behind that tractor 👍
It sure is, Max.
great vid
Thanks Hans. I was hoping that hill would provide a challenge . . .
Great catch! ;)
Many thanks, Andrew!
That's tough. We have fortunate round here and though everything is late it's not disastrous (yet).
Great video Alan.
Under pressure but well able for it.
Does it matter? I was told tons, but I didn't ask what sort, because it's of no consequence - the fact of the matter is that it is a lot of silage!
I'm on this job tomorrow, my first time haulign a silage trailer. Guess you've got to start somewhere. 16t is quite big for first time though :)
Big load, Steep hill- Made a big tractor look very small. Gotta feel for those buying silage! Heard of a local farm spending 800 a day on silage, ouch! No sign of spring in mid wales, still snow around. Some places only just dug out after 2 weeks snowed in
Yes, probably, but only with a run. Starting from stop at the bottom of the hill meant he had to change down - you can hear him!
Farm i work ion have a 75, absolute animal! Mind you not a match for the new 210r they got
Well done. Would have been good to get you on tape going up that hill, flat out!
Lucky you! Just don't go too fast, because it's harder to stop than start!
was this silage going to cwrt malle
My main cameras are all Panasonic. SD900 camcorder and GH3 still camera.
jest moc;)
Cough cough max legal train weight 24 and a bit tonnes!!! Another great video sir, well done
That's fine, in theory. In practise how do you know how much you are loading up, when it's muck, or silage or any other un-packaged material? You don't, you can't, and you can only guess. Which is what they do.
ha ha no bother, nice to hear some bird song at the beginning there too, what camera do you use?
Went well Alan. Got use to the trailer nicely and did 3 loads behind the MF 5465. Could of done with a bit more power going up Mathry hill though (long steep hill) as had electrical problems.

Lovely :) then again would be nice if it was at fiat 110-90 with a straight pipe, screwed to the balls :D
a "Quiet" cab, I presume!
Very.
a very quiet cab i drive a john deere 8120
So if they are best kept silent, why do you draw attention to them? In practise, you fill up the trailer with no clue what it weighs till you get to the weigh bridge!
I reckon she'd of pulled another gear!
Really? That's interesting.
I think those weights in the description are best kept quiet, as the current limit is 24,390kgs mgw!
NORCOHUCKER wrong 44ton
It’s been increased from 24.39 too 31 ton combined not 44 ton in the U.K.
So anyone reading the comments can be educated. Tractor weight should be stamped and also the trailer weight, so you should know your unladen weight before you are loaded. Giving you a rough guide as to how much you can be loaded with.
Shame - so your ear-drums are still intact! :)
No.
it would be imbarasing for the driver if he conked on the hill?
