Very important video! It’s crazy that there are no loans available for EU students. I’m starting at RCSI in September and can only do it with help from the US federal government loans. I’m from a working class background but I doubt I’ll have many other people from that same background in my class. It’s a real shame and probably the main reason I didn’t go into medicine when I was younger
Cheers for the support Finn! Congrats on getting a place at RCSI, you definitely won't be the only person considering deferral to save. Either way, best of luck with it
yeah the english med gamsat scores are crazy, more places and less applicants. but prices are higher than ever. sucks because this course is meant for those unable to enter through the traditional route where majority come up from middle class/higher income backgrounds.
Hey Harry, love your videos they’re very helpful! I just have a quick question so I am going into my third year of a four year undergraduate degree. Is it possible to go straight from my last year of undergrad straight into the next year of study into first year of graduate entry?
Hi Katie, thanks for the support! Yes you can go straight from undergrad into grad med. I did that myself actually, along with plenty others in my year 👍
Hi Harry thanks for the video, For the scores which the universities publish is that a percentile score or a raw GAMSAT score of S1+S2+(S3 x 2) /4 ? Thanks :)
Absolutely, some of my colleagues did nursing before starting med! However, bear in mind that there are a couple of schools in the UK that require a science degree at undergrad and don't recognise nursing under that bracket. It doesn't apply to many schools but just in case you are applying there

Thanks for your support Victoria, and massive congrats on getting a place in med school!
Thank you for the video! I received an offer for RCSI this September but am still considering deferring in order to save up more.

swansea had a gamsat cutoff for 2024 of 53 - how low is that?!

Thanks for the support Ciara! Yes the scores they publish are raw GAMSAT scores, not percentiles 👍
Totally unrelated question, do you think nursing is an appropriate pre degree before doing medicine?
Great video!!

Is it all worth it?
