It's like my Mum always says: "There's no 'I' in 'Astronomy Photographer of the Year'." Today's submission wouldn't have been possible without the help of the Guys working at iTelescope! I've formatted this video in a way that's kind of a tutorial on how to use the Solar scope. It's still in the early phases of its rollout, so you have the chance to one of the first to use it yourself. Veryyyy happy with the shot of the Cartwheel Galaxy, that's a target I'll certainly be hoping to improve on more in the future! See you again next week as I make another addition to my catalogue of Astronomy photographer of the year entries! Could this year be the year? 👀😉
Great video as usual! I did want to mention again that something is causing static in the audio of your videos. It’s only during your commentary, so that makes me think it’s your mic.
Whoa. Just this morning, I was thinking of Coronado and Lunt, - solar observation is indeed fascinating - when I got my Herschel's wedge delivered. Aaaand it is cloudy. Damon, you are the astronomical photographer of the year of my heart fam. I subbed when it was just a few thousands of us, and I thought, this fine young man deserves much more, and here we are at 160k. Now you go get them homie!
Great video! Does anyone know where I could buy all of the "Astronomy Photographer of the Year" books? would love to have them all! Liked and subscribed :D
The sun is a G2 type star, and they usually are light yellow or maybe white, but because of the atmosphere scattering light (or if we are taking photos, the camera or filter changes the color of light) sometimes the sun may appear orange or red. Do not be mistaken, it is not actually orange or red.
Please stop using dollars. You are english. It's doing my head in searching what dollars are in pounds. Instead of say this cost me 600 dollars just say 463 pounds.

Im so confused, apparently isnt the sun white? How come we see red?
@@nymarionythats wrong but ok
it aint white
@@fabianofragoso9498the sun is white and we only see it as yellow/orange because of earths atmosphere. If you see it from space then it’s white.
Hydrogen alpha is 656.3nm which is red

Majority of his audience is probably US based. But really, only he will know.
