@@DFWsCars, I have to disagree. The H2 was a rolling abortion from the minute it hit dealership showroom floors. I worked at a Hummer dealership when the first ones came out, and we went through more transmissions, rear ends, transfer cases, and front differentials than you might even believe. After I left that job, it literally took me a year to forget the part number for the transmissions cause we replaced so many. The driver's view (as even mentioned in the video) as laughable, and the most common buyer/drivers were small soccer moms who couldn't see shit out of the tiny windows. GM should be ashamed that they did this to the previously proud Hummer name.
Now get some spinner wheels and a crazy subwoofer setup like you're balling in 2003.

As someone who has also owned multiple 70s land yachts this is not the only vehicle in his fleet that is inches away from single digit mpg. I'm actually surprised it does this poorly. It's not as if this exact same 6.0 wasn't available on GMs other SUVs, it just wasn't the default option. You cannot tout 4.8 or 5.3 mpgs if they aren't available.

Exhaust noise is manifold bolts breaking. You can buy clamps to tighten them so you don't have to remove the heads and extract bolts for $50.

Having driven Hummers in the Army, I have to admit the H2 was a lot more practical for civilian use than a "civilianized" Hummer. While it wasn't a "real" Hummer, it still managed to capture the spirit of the original in a pretty good package. I really loved the look of the yellow H2s. It's too bad it was the victim of GM's demise.

@Damnpunk 78 regarding reliability they seem to be pretty decent. The good old LS Motor and a 4L60 they should last just as long as a cruiser regarding the motor and gearbox. Not sure about the rest of the car.
But yes. Quite flashy if you can live with 20-25 liters per hundred which really isn't that bad considering, it's got a 6 liter motor moving near 3 tonne.

I don’t know if this applies to Gm but in older fords when the floor mats are soaked on water that means that you heater core is probably bad and it costs around $2000 to fix because of where the heater core is located... the heater core itself is around $50 but it’s just the installation

My dad bought an H2 back in ‘03 too and we kept it until 2013. Even being 10 years old and having 80k miles it sold on Craigslist for 17.5k. The only thing we had to replace was the rear air shocks since they dry rotted over the years. The water on the carpet is probably from the seals from the orange lights on the roof, that happened to ours too.
I agree these will probably be a collectors item in a few years, the 2008/09’s go for a ton of money still on eBay.

My first job at age 19 was at a car dealership and the used car manager drove one of these as a demo. Keep in mind this was in 2006 and they were well past the 'cool' stage and deep into 'heavily embarrassing' territory. But this guy loved it. He had me take it to the gas station for him one night and I could just feel everybody judging me.

When I saw the adidas and watches I knew I’d like the episode.
Airbag cover was changed clearly. The noise is clearly the tires, the water under the floormats is most likely caused by a blocked drain channel in the roof or from one of the roof marker lights seals going bad - common problem with the H2. The H2 came with a spare tire carrier out back on some variants; that frees up a lot of space in the trunk. Wheel bearings going bad are common and are characterized by a squeaking noise from the front end. The engine is indestructible. And truth be told, the face-lifted versions post 2007 were actually a great improvement in terms of interior quality. Plus the addition of the 6 speed really changed the way the car drove. Swap out the clutch fan for an electric one.
