Theyre expensive to maintain and when something breaks, sourcing new parts is either next to impossible or painfully expensive. I love mine, but I should have chose something more reasonable for a first car. But don't let me discourage you man, if you can find one for cheap and you really want it, go for it. They can be great dailys if you find one that's in good condition, but sometimes the stereotypes are true lol

I live in the caribean and the guys over here think that im nuts cause im using a 20v powered liftback to learn how to drift and track it.. They say the car is a classic and that I should trash a Cressida or E36, and not a rare car like the Trueno...🤷🏾♂️

Definitely agree that suspension mods are all you really need. I've always loved drifing Roadsters. It's a slightly different driving style I find, where you have to enter the corner significantly over speed and throw it in at a good angle, then just nail thr throttle. With the low power if you try to drift with a shallow angle it'll just straighten up. Keep the speed up and just chuck it in - you can't really be timid.

So much bang for your buck with mx-5:s. It is perfect car for beginner, to get to know car control. When you master drifting with these low powered roadsters, you are already pretty good drifter. :)
@@panikk2245 well you should start off with a decent car, if we're talking about mx5's, whatever a decent example in your area is a good place to start. Talking in USD you'll spend about $600 on your first set of coilovers, maybe another $600 to get a good bucket seat in your car, deliver your differential to get welded if you don't have an LSD, another $100. After that all you really need to do is get your fluids changed and a fresh alignment to start practicing. Seat time is more important than anything. If you have extra money investing in chassis bracing and a bjgger rear sway bar will help a lot. Good luck!

I had a NA8 mx5 years ago, and now, because I'm old and married, I have a NC2 mx5. This video makes me want another NA mx5. They are all round great track cars, out of the box.

I love my 95 Miata 1.8. No real mods, but an intake and catback and cat delete. Adjustable shocks. I got it as a third owner, 77k miles on it. It's a limited R model, manual everything and was focused more on autocross, etc.
Mazda is good platform if set up correctly, especially if you bolt a turbo, always put a smile on my face when driving around or shredding at the track! Saying that if suspension setup is incorrect driving experience is horrible! Thank you Dude! 🙂
When you started talking about the lantis I was so proud that you knew what my car is even if mine does have a dead engine but at least it's the type R which just kinda makes it harder to find an engine for
All about that suspension tuning. My old 240SX had the truck motor, exhaust, coilovers and a seat. Maybe 115hp and it was the most fun I've ever had with my pants on!
NC miata owner here - love this!!! Sadly did not see an NC in entire video. seems like most drifters in this video preferred the NB and of course there were some NA's
I bought a 1989 RHD Eunos Roadster 1,6 liters here in Spain that was first exported from Japan to UK and then imported to spain, and believe me, its more fun in the curvy hills than a 911 Porsche. With some 10y old tires i could slide like hell even on totally dry roads. I had to buy new tires, but have still pretty much fun.

8:36 in the states we have a similar color to sparkle green on the NB generation, its called splash green, thats what i thought it was at first look. Ive only seen a couple in that color before they’re pretty rare.
Miata is my project car. Just swapped in a torsen diff and that gave me the inspiration to fit wheels and suspension as well. One day I want to afford forced induction.
Love the Mazdas, my first 2 cars were 1986 HB 929 coupes with the second one being the rare Australia only turbo version with an aftermarket intercooler, 3" exhaust and boost controller, was fast enough for me at the time.
