this is where everyone realizes that actually the real protagonist of the story was the one that everyone felt untill then as the leading antagonist one - Aida is an opera with a big plot-character twist, that actually Aida isn´t the real big deal of the story but Amneris!!
The opera pivots on Aïda's plight, and Verdi would not agree with you. Amneris is a great role, but stop making a contest out of who's the most important. Save that for A.L. Webber shows and "American Idol."

Amneris is the daughter of the Pharaoh and has to be sang with unflinching authority and conviction. Legato too. Singing has to be legato, legato, legato, whether it's Puccini, Verdi, Mozart, Wagner etc.

Oui, bof. Ecoutez Resnik dans la même scène pour savoir ce qu'est l'émotion à l'opéra. Là, c'est bien chanté, mais tellement lisse ! Comprend elle ce qu'elle chante? Est elle vraiment mezzo, j'en doute. Pour l'émotion et la vraie voix du rôle écoutez Régina Resnik en direct et mesurez la différence d'interprétation, ici sur you tube.

Voz espectacular mezzo dramatica, caso contralto a veces, quizas le falta algo de tecnica y un poco fria en la interpretacion. Pero impresionante de todos modos.

Lo que le falta es la voz de pecho. Sus graves no son potentes en muchas ocasiones y es precisamente por la voz de pecho no bien desarrollada.
