There are quite a few corps moving up in the rankings and to be honest I didn't predict that at the beginning of the season. I have always been a fan of Pacific Crest. This year they are really making a push to make it into the Top 12 for the first time and I am excited for them. Blue Knights and Crossmen are also looking to make it into the top 12 so we will see how it all works out.

The show flows really well but I think 2022 scared the designers from having too complex a show theme and you can definitely tell they were very tentative with how technical the show was this year. I hope their competitive success this year gives them the confidence to bite a bit more off next year so they can peak closer to finals
Agree, I like the "concept" of the show... even better than others.
Just seems to suffer in execution and not being clean in many areas.
But I look for that to improve.
I wish them well!

They haven't cleaned their show as quickly as Crossmen and the demand is not as high. It's going to be interesting to see how the fight for the last spot for finals ends up between P.C., Blue Knights and Crossmen.
If they perform the music better, they could make finals. Also, they're at an unfair disadvantage over the other corps who are using way too much amplification. The music arrangements are excellent, the drill not so much. But they could make a big jump in score if the brass get it together. The trumpets are cracking too much. Show design seems lazy, making the same wave formation twice.
12th place is going to nice to watch between them and blue knights I really love blue knights show but I like PCs too
Now Crossmen!!!! It is going to be interesting for 10-12 place this year.
Barring a miracle, PC won't be in finals now. They started strong in the beginning, but the show design and musical arrangements gave them little opportunity for continuous significant improvement. Not the members fault. And they won't be adding any surprises either. Their creative team obviously doesn't have that kind of creative passion. Too bad. At the very least, they should have picked up that ocean tarp and dragged it across the entire corps, being it would secretly be about 5 times its original apparent size.

not sure if you realized it Justin, but I caught here in Salt Lake that they both start and end the program with their "crest" logo.
in case it wasn't clear enough.. "Goddess" and the ocean motif and Grecian columns are referencing Aphrodite (born from the ocean, as is that Drum Major's entire outfit/look
Except why have a repeat simple formation in the same show, a show that is already shorter than most other shows? Is that the best the designers could come up with? PC needs new drill designers.
This is a really cool show. I dig it and the line is solid for sure. The staging in the trombones could be better, maybe more uniform but still a great strong sound. Good job PC!!
11:12 theough 11:15. Brass (mellos?) should hold that note through those bars instead of silence. Imo.
When you say "great sound", how can you tell how much is "natural" versus great audio engineer?
Love this production! Not the cleanest but this is a good product.
They might do better if all the horns were actually playing 🤦♂️
And if the soloists didn't crack every third note.
They sound really good here. I dont think they continued with this sound in recent days and weeks. 17th place is not "really strong." PC hasn't much chance now, mainly because the show has no potential for improvement performance wise. And why the same wave formation TWICE in the same show? Lazy designers it seems.
The show was very much designed in a hole. It dug its own grave the second the pen hit the paper. The designers absolutely underestimated the performers and it showed.
