How much better is it than the original trex?
One question I have with the smartphone notifications. Can you edit or adjust the replies for text messages? I can understand it doesn't have voice to speak into the watch but if I can change the automatic replies I may get the Pro model for my next watch.
Next is does it have an SOS mode to have my phone call and/or auto text certain contacts with my location if something happens to me? My current Galaxy Classic can do this and while I haven't used it, I can see it being helpful if I get hurt during a hike.

I don't know where you got your info but your information is not correct in so many aspects. You should re-check them because many people will actually think the pro has all the features you are talking about when in fact it is the opposite and the t-rex 2 has them
the t rex pro , can you use it for surfing ? does it handle salt water? grateful..

First the amazfit trex 2 have 10 atm waterproof and have 150+ sportsmodes and the battary life is about 24 days an another point is that the amazfit t rex pro doesn't have NFC and a Microphone and any speaker

How long can these watches last on average usage , maybe 5+ years ?
I think 5 years is probably the best you could hope for in terms of the battery. I don't know if the battery is replaceable but things tend not to be these days

more than 5 years you probably can use it but the battery performance is getting degrading and your cpu or ram would run a little bit slower to process. that's the basic smart device usage.
All stats,wrong in this... saying older one is better?. It isnt.. t rex 2 is an upgrade in every single way... and has extra useful features.. going to do this getting it right is 101
