I’m not surprised both of you have not heard of Moon River probably because this was written way before you were born. The song was composed by the great Henry Mancini with lyrics by Johnny Mercer and used for the famous 1961 movie “Breakfast At Tiffany’s” with the legendary Audrey Hepburn. She wasn’t known for her singing abilities but she did sing this in the movie. Later it was popularised by Andy Williams. The song won the 1962 Academy Awards for Record of the year and Song of the year. Many artists have since covered and performed this classic song but it’s only fitting that this iconic song is song by a truly iconic singer… Morissette.
Usahay) is the grand of all Bisaya songs, is what grand mother sings to the mother’s now ( Luzon, Bisaya and Mindanao ) are the three main regions of the Philippines. Luzon is the only Tagalog region 🇨🇦.

Yes, Morissette is a multi-language singer, singing with ease in English, Tagalog, and Cebuano which is her native language aside from Tagalog where the Filipino language is based. Watch her singing the song Resignation in Korean language. It's a must-watch performance, too.
What a treat, you choose the best Morissette concert to react on her birthday! WTG guys. "Usahay" is a Visayan folk song of Morissette's first language. Almost everybody from the Visayas to Mindanao region knows about this song. Bought my sister a ticket and she's in the East coast. She was so filled with emotion she was sobbing her ass off when Mori played this song.Btw, shoutout to Adonis Tabanda & 3rd Ave Band for his once again brilliant arrangement of this concert. Him and Mori has done magic in the past, but this right here is perfection!

Moon River. What a beautiful classic song. I loved it when Audrey Hepborn sang it first. Then other past superstars like Andy Williams. Now future superstars like Lucy Thomas and this young lady are bringing songs like this back for the new generation. From the movie in 1950's , Breakfast At Tiffiany's, sang by Audrey Hepburn....Andy Williams really popularized the song during his hour long variety show in the 60's....and yes I use to watch it....I'm that old. Its a beautiful song. Usahay is a very popular Bisaya song ( her native dialect)

Can't imagine Henry Mancini ever could have believed this simple song could be manipulated into such a complex master work. Audrey certainly didn't have the chops to do anything like this. The best Moon River redition ever but I still partial to the version she and Dabe did during the pandemic. And Usahay... Wow. I discovered this mashup in Nov of 2021 and found myself humming Usahay while putting up the Christmas tree.

Some say her 1st language is english,2nd is cebuano(her native language, and 3rd is tagalog(national laguage). But for me her 1st is cebuano,2nd is english and her 3rd is tagalog

Of course you guys were too young to have heard Moon River. I grew up listening with Johnny Mathis’ version of this song. Your grandparents might be familiar with the song. And part of listening to Morissette is watching her hands.
