Same here, I don't want to have a complete rig with pedals and a fixed wheel to race, but using just a regular controller is a big compromise in control.

i do the same, game gives you bad car, can drift amazingly because lack of traction, get simi decent car and can no longer drift. i never learn drifting as it seems voltaile as it changes despite roughly doing the same thing. it's like trying to improve your throw there's just small details you can't pick up on easily
