I personally think the A50s are aging, Astro needs to make a whole new design or product category maybe an A60

@@Twisted_Individual Nope. Tried many different brands and not just at the store. Keep coming back to Astros. Want to try the a30s as my a50s are approaching 3 years of use and starting to wear excessivly. I want to try the new Nova Pro Wireless before I make the choice though.
The A30’s look beautiful, but damn we need A60
I’m definitely sticking with the A50s until we get a Gen 5 of them or A60s whatever it’ll be. When I used the A30s my friends said the microphone picked up my breathing a lot more than the A50s did. Also I just love the sound of the A50s it’s awesome

I enjoy the feature on the Astros A50 where if you're not using the headphones, it automatically detects inactivity and powers off. While I'm uncertain if the A30 has this feature, I have noticed that the Astros A50 is considerably louder, based on multiple reviews I've conducted. Although I plan to switch to the A30 eventually, I'll continue using the Astros A50 for now, as it's designed specifically for gaming and nothing more.
The A30 do it and you can customise how soon before it will sleep and then power off.
The A30 is interesting but it loses so much of what I love about the A50: base station, flip to mute mic, decent mic, and really easy to use controls. Hoping they don’t go too much like the A30 with their next A50 rendition.
But it seems to provide something I've not seen before - xbox and PS compatibility.

@@Purgiful not just compatibility but the a30 wireless provides 7.1 and DTS with the 2.4ghz for consoles while optical port on a50 is no longer supported by ps5 and x|s
so you either have to use hdmi adapter to get high quality or you get lower quality with a 3.5 or usb
A30s look way better cosmetic wise and lighter, they sound the same if not better I remember I had the Xbox 360 a30s with the first mix Amp in black ops 2 days and oh my the crispy audio I used to get had me getting accused of cheating 😂

I have the A30s. I'm very happy with them. Had Turtle beach & Steelseries top of the line models before. (Both had plastic breakage issues) Comfortable, sound great. The only thing is the mic, which can be replaced with a $10.00 aftermarket 2.5 mm boom mic.
What mic did you buyed?
I have the A30 My cousin complains about not being able to hear me. Talk a lot will a new mic help in any way to fix that. For 230 I don't think there worth it

I have the astro a 30 I do not think there worth the price. People complain about not being able to hear me with the Mic a lot Every Time I turn my PlayStation on. I got a unplugged dangle and plug it back in. Or my mic wont-work correctly. When I watch Netflix most of time it cuts in and out the whole time. I'm watching Super knowing for $230. They are way overpriced for what they are. There's cheaper options, That are better. Don't waste your money on these. Just get A50

Watched like 10 videos on the A30 and can’t believe how many people gave this headset any good remarks. Sound is tinny and shallow, the mic sucks, the ear pads are legit the hardest I’ve ever felt.
They look great but need not look at any UA-camrs reviews for these kinds of products anymore. Sad days.

I had an older pair of A50's and unfortunately the flip mic broke.. they need to be redesigned with a detachable mic.

Those 3.5mm headphone Jack mic’s always crap out on me after a year. That alone is enough of a reason to ignore that headset entirely
You may wan't to try out the ROCCAT SYN Max Air :) I had the A50s but returned them due to some quality issues (I really liked them tho) and I was searching for a replacement headset with a dock. So far the SYN is awesome and I feel like I've found a worthy alternative. But I have to admit it's not made for consoles due to it's connectivity (Switch can be used tho since it has bluetooth).
How is the sound quality compared to the astro?
I am meant to be getting one
I just dug around and the sound quality is meant to be comparable to the turtle beach which to me are average compared to a50s or the new nova pro x
@@cryptok9185 I've just tested out the SYN Max Air vs the A40s I still have to return (gen4 with MixAmp) and on flat eq for both the SYN blow the A40s out of the water. And the A40s to me sounded just a bit better than the A50s (also gen4), they don't have that little bit of a boxy sound the A50s have in direct comparison. But back to the SYN. They sound more clean/crisp, have way punchier bass (not the "fake" bass I mean, real bass) and they sound fuller. Ofc they have pads which are different, but overall they really sound better, powerful even (and they get really, really f*cking loud). I also own a pair of DT 1770 PROs and in comparison the A40s really sound cheap, which they aren't of course. Comfort wise - if you're interested - the A40s have a bit softer padding on top, with or without the Mod Kit, but more shallow and somehow less comfortable pads. The pads on the SYN are deep, even large ears should fit without a problem. Size wise the SYN are bigger in height, the A40s almost don't fit me at all (interestingly the A50s did, they seem to be a bit taller) and I have a big head. I have my 1770s on 7 "points" visible on each size if that helps someone. One thing the A50s have is the connectivity on the dock. Aux and Toslink are nowhere to be found on the dock of the SYN. There are 2 usb-c ports and that's it, one for connection and one for charging. But the SYN have bluetooth, which to me is almost better. But that means that you can't use the SYN on any console other than one that has bluetooth like the Switch. Oh and ofc you can use both connections at the same time, 2.4 and bluetooth, I really love that feature. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask :)

I had the og a30s on the Xbox 360 best headset ever had due to the Dolby 7.1 surround sound 💯
My main problem is the app, and the fact you cannot use the PC G Hub or Astro Command center to control them. I don’t know about Android, but the headset not turning off issue, and the “cannot sink” issue happen almost daily on iOS. They’re extremely annoying; But not a deal breaker. More like a minor/becoming major inconvenience.
I have a pair of A40s with the mixamp, I love the comfort, but the wire gets in the way, and I'm getting distortion and wierd audio glitches as the amp is failing. I want to go wireless. Will I be disappointed going from A40 to A30?
Not in my experience. I would certainly choose these over the A40s

Sucks that QC of the A50s is very bad, I lucked out on my warranty claim and got some that don't pop out.
Hello, could you make a comparison between the HyperX Cloud Orbit S vs SteelSeries Arctis Nova Pro Wireless
I'd go with the Nova, the only issue is the ear cups need to be deeper as in long gaming session you get that ear fatigue from your ear being too close.
So basically same headset, one just has a charging station the other doesn’t, also one’s more comfy den the other I think imma go with the a30s cheaper sound quality is the same nd I can connect my phone for music that’s tuff

my experience w the A50s have been terrible, had the first gen, base station was buggy asf, lasted about a year until they stopped working, bought the gen 2 A50s, also had to drop even more money to make it compatible w my ps5. same thing happened, the base station was all buggy, constantly needed to hard reset it, update it via the command center, then after a year they stopped working too

Are the A50s worth connecting to the PS5 without the adapter?
I know I am late to the party, but was wondering regarding the A50 if you plug a 3.5mm jack in the base coming from an Tv, will the sound be sent wireless to the Headset and can you change the volume?

@@TheProvokedPrawn Thanks for the reply!! That is a great option, as I normally use my Logitech G935 headset wired when doing sim racing, as I cannot use wireless and a buttkicker at the same time on Ps5, so had to do a work around, but this A50 would be a great solution to race "wireless" again👌🏼

Could a30s run ps5 game audio and pc discord audio at the same time with this like how you can do with the a50s? And if yes could one mic work for pc discord while the other mic works with game chat? 🤔
You could just transfer the discord over to PS5 and get all of the audio coming from the PS5.
@Enmanuel248 nahh cause you can't hear game chat at the same time as discord chat. I like to hear both chats and talk to both on COD
@@gunshinestatee Gotcha. That makes sense. Theoretically, you should be able to connect through Bluetooth on your PS5 and Connect through the Dongle on your PC. It should work. The integrated mic should be assigned to the PS5 and the boom mic should go to your PC.
@Enmanuel248 true but unfortunately playstation decided to not add a Bluetooth feature to the ps5 😮💨 last playstation to have built in Bluetooth was the ps3
Yes it can, I do that now. I plug the 3.5 mm headphone jack into my PC to use discord and then just plug in the transmitter that’s included with the headphones into the ps5 and I can hear both discord and game chat at the same time

The A30 mic is laughably bad, and difficult to keep in place. And the cups are way to small for an adult man. Super bummed, and easy decision to return.
How is it possible that an older headset has a better mic then the newer one 😂
A30 has a 2.5mm jack which will result is a lower quality microphone. The built in mic on the a30 generally sounds like the a50 normal mic
That’s why I returned the A30s I I didn’t like the microphone so I’m sticking with my A50s these bad boys are amazing

I have the new A30s now and have the old gen A50s and i am very pleased with the new gen A30s no complaints. 👌
0 reason to buy Astro A50 when you have Arctis, Arctis PRO Wireless were already better, now you have Nova PRO which is waaaay better.
The Arctis headsets used to crack easily. Not for bad treatment, the metal hinge was surrounded by a hard plastic that would crack over time just from the flex it gets from putting it on and taking it off. Can't speak on durability of the new Nova pro headset.
My a50 doesn't have those weak points, and have proven more durable so far after over a year
Also I prefer the charging base to swapping batteries. I found out over time that I actually hate swapping batteries. Miss the Bluetooth tho

Nova pros mic quality is the worst I’ve ever heard. It literally can’t get worse I’ve heard better mics on $30 turtle beach sound quality is alright it’s on par with the a50s maybe a tad better. Love the external batteries but besides that they r garbage especially for $350
