Miss Mulatto spoke to VladTV about turning down a deal with Jermaine Dupri's So So Def label after winning "The Rap Game," which she says came as a shock to some people. However, Miss Mulatto explained that she never spoke face-to-face with Jermaine Dupri about the deal, adding that their lawyers were the only ones involved in the conversation.

Some labels mostly want to push artist to go mainstream which means you have to play the radio game and change a few things on their style/sound and mostly a lot of rappers aren’t having that! And when you take a look at the artist who end up in bad deals it’s mostly rappers! A few singers here and there but majority of them being rappers who don’t wanna go pop aka mainstream and/or whatever the label is trying to change on them. And then you just have some really bad labels that just sign artist but don’t do anything with them at all!
