    “I want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in his sufferings.” ~ Philippians 3:10
    The words “fellowship” and “suffering” don’t look as though they fit together. One communicates comfort. The other, pain. Yet God links these words, insisting that our deepest fellowship with Him can be found in the midst of suffering.
    The word “fellowship” does not mean a club. It’s not an inner circle of elite believers or a higher level of super-spiritual saints who have arrived. Fellowship - in the Greek, koinonia - means a mystical participation together with Christ. It’s a marvelous mystery that Jesus feels the sting in His chest when you hurt.
    When I hurt, when I’m in physical pain from my paralysis, when my heart twists in anguish, I cast myself on Jesus. In the fellowship of suffering, I know He takes my pain personally, He’s close enough to catch me. As I rest in His arms, I’m amazed how often I find myself singing this hymn:
    All my life was full of sin when Jesus found me,
    All my heart was full of misery and woe;
    Jesus placed His strong and loving arms around me,
    And He led me in the way I ought to go.
    No one ever cared for me like Jesus,
    There’s no other friend so kind as He;
    No one else could take the sin and darkness from me -
    O how much He cared for me!
    Thank You, Jesus, for the warm, intimate union we enjoy together in the fellowship of Your sufferings. Bless you for catching me when I fall, for holding me when I hurt.

    And Jesus took the risk of losing Joni forever, when He answered her prayer, by her choosing to turn her back on Him. Fortunately, she struggled through suicidal depression to acceptance. And now look at the fruit of her life.

    I have been suffering with chronic pain and disability for 37 of my 64 years. I can't agree with Joni more. As bad as my pain can be, I have found that the Lord has blessed me to endure. He has blessed me over and over again to endure and even find joy! I praise Him all the day and night long through the songs I write and sing. Joni you have inspired me to hold onto the Lord with all of my might. Thank you for enduring honorably.❤

    Lost my faith because of what's happening in the Middle East.

      Genevieve, seeing the pain and conflict in the Middle East, or anywhere in the world, can indeed be heart-wrenching and sometimes shakes our faith. It's hard to understand why such things happen, especially when we believe in a God who is all about love and peace.
      We believe God feels deeply about the suffering in the world, much more than we can imagine. In the Bible, Jesus shows us God's heart for humanity. He wept over the suffering of His people and ultimately gave His life out of love for us (John 11:35, John 3:16). Even when things seem out of control, we're reminded that God's heart grieves with ours and that He has a plan for ultimate peace and justice.
      It's okay to have doubts and questions. God understands our struggles and invites us to come to Him with all our doubts (Matthew 11:28-30). Maybe, during this difficult time, there's an opportunity to explore your faith deeper, ask the hard questions, and find comfort in knowing you're not alone.

      We live in a sinful world where people can serve Satan and be deceived by him. Only in Heaven will all tears be dried.

      Israel has been harassed for years...the Balfour Agreement ensured they would have land in their area of origin and as compensation for the Holocaust. Look up the history of Israel. The land was a hug swamp. They built it up to something wonderful through extremely hard work. Palestinians were not a nation...mostly roaming gypsies who now demand recognition as a nation and who have lobbed rockets on Israel incessantly for many many years. The October attack was over the top assault on Israel. They are now fighting back. Many only talk about what is being done outside of Israel but never investigate how Israel has been harried and harassed for many many years.

      I assume that you listened to the interview, but it did not click for you.
      "God permits what He hates to accomplish what He loves." God would much rather work through our obedience than through our sin, but God will work through sin to do what is of benefit for the most people. He showed that in the murder of His son on the cross to accomplish our salvation.
      Also, God will judge people for their wickedness. You cannot murder, lie, steal, commit adultery, etc. and think that God is just going to look the other way. You cannot treat people made in the image of God like trash and expect that God will accept it. He yearns for us to repent and gives us time to repent. We enter into a relationship with Him so that He can change us and we no longer commit wickedness. However, there is judgement either in this life or the next for those who do not turn to Him.
      For you, the question is if you will let Him change you so that you become a better person to make the world a better place. Jesus Christ makes the world better one person at a time. Then, you can disciple and sow into others to make them and the world better through them.
      Honstly, what hope is there for the world other than Jesus?
