Saw your comment on the other video. If I test my starter this way with the battery on and keys not in the ignition and I hear the car turn over and not start does that mean my starter is fine???
Yes, if this method turns over the vehicle the starter is fine. Did you see the bypass with the fuse on the EWS also? It can be an easier test. A key can be ordered directly through Mini for $285 already cut and programmed but I wanted to do an EWS delete which was $339 through RPM Motorsport so I never have to program another key or have an EWS issue. I will post that video soon ua-cam.com/video/hvcpRXP7eZc/v-deo.htmlsi=AEJs9lZoqtVeyqvd
I posted another video too because I sent out my DME to have the EWS deleted and it starts every time now and I can have anyone cut a key without programming 2005 Mini Cooper R53 EWS3 removal bypass no crank test ua-cam.com/video/hvcpRXP7eZc/v-deo.html
So how do I fix if I have no spark but coil packs receive power through that wire my immobiliser just went and I have had to bypass but my engine isn’t firing only cranking any help pls
THis bypass is just to verify the starter works, it will not allow the vehicle to start. You will have to send in the DME (ECU) to have the EWS deleted or order a new key directly from Mini Cooper dealer. The key through the Mini Cooper dealer is the easiest because it will come cut and programmed to start your vehicle for about $300. I did the EWS delete so I would never need to program another key or go to the dealer.
Yes, the EWS failed so it would not turn the starter. Starter does work. Did a DME reprogram to delete EWS and it is now working with the same key. I was charged $300 to have this done and I will never have to program a key again
I SEE MY FAULT. Why was the ECU reprogrammed? Is this necessary when reprogramming the E.W S.? THANKS ALOT FOR RESPONDING 😊 My mechanic said electronic imobillizer wrong code also no power to the E.W.S. no power to fuse 5

bottom just twisted apart -- if held bottom with left hand and the top with right hand = twist bottom anti clockwise.
I was not able to disconnect mine. Thanks for the explanation for others
@@jakemir thanks for the tip on the bypass -- key didnt work, but starter turned over on bypass - saved me swapping an awkward starter motor :)

At the bottom of mine, I twisted the bottom arrow and it disengaged immediately
I could not move this one. Thanks for the suggestion
This mite sounds like a stupid question was Ur key turned in the ingition

Whats the conclusion? You didn't solve the issue?!!!!
This was just a test to bypass the EWS to verify the starter works. My EWS was bad and I had the ECU reprogrammed and deleted the EWS
