According to Sawyer's announcement, the decision to part with Republic was mutual and amicable. In a year and a half Sawyer did an EP, LP and music video with them, which is more than most of The Voice winners manage. He's planning his next album and tour as an independent artist.
Always better to go independent in this case, he can control all aspects of his music and be as creative as he wants. Go Sawyer! Such a talented kid, I am his age and I wish I had that kind of talent! Mine stays in the drawing and sewing side of art. :)
Republic is the most garbage label around. Pure trash artists and even trashier execs. Walk wouldn't know talent if it hit him in the nose and Puffy has been a joke. Big was his only big hitter. Glad this kid got away. Hope to hear some new stuff from him soon.

It`s hard to describe what i feel when you sing.. One thing is for sure i`am really old. When you sing, It`s not about the rhythms it`s not about what’s popular. You got the big voice and that will never get old. When you sing i understand i have lived before it`s easy to accept now.

It's very difficult to find a really talented person. It's even more difficult to hear this person sound like a man that has been wondering around America for decades, a trobadour. The most astonishing of all is to see that this person keeps a low profile. I liked the studio version almost just as much as the live one. But in the end, I prefer the live one. Keep going mate!

As for low profile, he's said he doesn't like being on display- that he only wants to write and perform his music. You're right. On tour, Sawyer sings a slightly slower version of Take It All with his band and sometimes an even slower acoustic version. Tonight in Houston he said the acoustic version is more his speed than the recording. The recording's arrangement is upbeat and trendy-sounding to have broader appeal for radio play. But Sawyer's version fits the words he wrote much better. Check out the rest of his LP, A Good Storm.
This is the real Sawyer! Lovely voice, all you need is just guitar and nothing else. Too much background music will only cover up your pure, beautiful voice.

Americana/folk or folk/rock isn't that popular in the US right now. In fact, Sawyer first got recognition from an independent music chart (FAB Chart) based in the UK way back in 2011, and has had more songs on the chart than anyone else. (He writes his own music.) "This Fire" from his album "A Good Storm" tops that chart right now. Sawyer has devoted fans all over the world, but all that devotion hasn't resulted in huge record sales-yet. I love both songs on this channel but I definitely enjoy this one a bit more, it's a bit more Sawyer than Take It All, in my opinion.
You're right. On tour, Sawyer sings a slightly slower version of Take It All with his band and sometimes an even slower acoustic version. Tonight in Houston he said the acoustic version is more his speed than the recording. The recording's arrangement is upbeat and trendy-sounding to have broader appeal for radio play. But Sawyer's version fits the words he wrote much better. Check out the rest of his LP, A Good Storm.
