Plus she already got her all stars level redemption from just that iconic lip sync. So the only reason to come back at this point would be literally for the crown 🤷🏼♀️
I hope she continues turning it down. I'd be glad to see more of her on the show but seems like she doesn't have anything to benefit from it and it will only damage her mental health.
yeah, when they go for bullshit critics like "it feels like you're hiding behind a mask" or "blah blah vulnerability", it feels like they don't want that queen to do well and are looking for excuses to give her bad critics.
I met her recently at a cabaret show. She was in the audience near me. I was a bit embarrassed and nervous to say anything but I leant over to tell her she was gorgeous and fabulous. She touched my arm and said I was so sweet. I was too shy to say anything else or hang around. But from those few second you can tell She is very lovely and kind .
The producers tricked Laganja and Adore to watching their argument? Holy frick, that's messed up and evil. But what did you expect? Good on them for deciding to not discuss it in front of cameras but to just settle it privately. Really good on them. I always felt really bad for Laganja. Her infamous "I FEEL ATTACKED!" moment broke my heart and I just felt so sorry and sad for her. It was horrible seeing her have meltdowns like that. Thankyou so much for covering her story. She deserves a good apology from the fanbase for the way they have seen and treated her.
The producers doing what they did to Laganja is nothing short of evil. Taking away someone's literal medication and then requiring them to make television without it should be illegal.
Seriously! Who is the medical professional who authorized this? Taking away someone's psych meds before throwing them into a grueling psychological cauldron sounds like malpractice.
Laganja was a trailblazer - iconic entrances, serving werkroom and confessional looks, the catchphrases - a lot of drag race staples started with her. 🙌🏿
I honestly fell for thr narrative that they pushed about her being this over the top annoying queen, but after seeing her work outside of drag race, then rewatching her season I realized just how sweet and totally herself Laganja is. She was totally used by production to stir up drama that they wanted while tricking her into thinking everyone loved her. She’s awesome! I’d love to see her live someday!!
As someone who was watching RPDR since it aired (including Drag U and old wowpresents content), I knew the moment she walked in that she'd be understood on a much better scale years after S6 aired. Especially because she was the epitome of dumb young vs wise old trope. Thank you Miss Ganja for being your authentic self. Some of the editors of the show are disgusting. I personally think that she just wears her heart on her sleeve and they took advantage of that. It’s actually a beautiful trait. Loving people like that can be a very rewarding experience.
It wouldn't have surprised me if production knew of Laganja and Adore's friendship via social media and cast them both to intensify the drama, pitting two close friends in dramatic battle. Probably unlikely but wouldn't have put it past production to do this.
I've always loved Laganja and I knew that her mental break downs had a lot to do with marijuana withdrawal. I hated how Bianca treated her, it seemed below Bianca. Gladly seeing Laganja nowadays is refreshing since she seems to have healed and practices wellness. In my opinion Laganja is one of the best Drag Race queens hands down!
well it was the producers hyping her up and then the girls being like girl who hyped you up? Bianca saw bullshit and called it, why you mad? Because miss laganja couldn’t take it?
Watching her little documentary about preparing for her AS6 lip sync just showed so much about how Laganja has grown and matured. She wasn't this young brat who was unaware, she realized what an amazing opportunity it was and took it seriously. She probably healed wounds with that lip sync, had so much fun, and entertained literally millions while doing it! And not to tear someone down to lift others up, but what a stark contrast between what Laganja did and what Kameron Michaels did. Just showed up in a weird costume, lip synced by weirdly reaching out to the judges over and over, then had a full meltdown on social media about it blaming everyone/everything else for her bad performance.
"And not to tear someone down to lift others up" but u did exactly that. AS6 and AS5 had a bunch of different cases of lip sync assassins being brought back just to eliminate their friend or someone they have a story with. also that song is not exactly a great lip sync song, and rajah didnt do good either. kameron didnt blame anyone for her bad performance she was upset that she felt used in order to send her friend home. dont be reading queens when u dont even know what ur talking about babes. also costume was fierce. ur embarrassing urself.
@@tooncentral8400 no girl, I did not do exactly that. Laganja doesn't need someone torn down to have herself lifted, I went into pretty extensive detail about how she merits celebration all on her own. I only brought up Kameron as a contrast. Truly pathetic to cry about the chance to perform a massively popular song on tv in front of the original recording artists that you're given days to practice for. And she came up with just like weirdly pointing at the judges over and over? It's garbage mama. Put in some effort and take things seriously like Laganja.
@@1bwash the contrast of her doing poorly is fine because no one is saying that she came on the show and did amazing, but going to the lengths of calling her "garbage" and not taking it seriously? its a little much. like she isnt a war criminal she just didnt do well in a lip sync, the hate really isnt necessary. like i said, most fans agreed the song is difficult to lip sync to, and its fairly obvious that production casts lip sync assassins for the purpose of sending their friend home often. I always loved Laganja. Rewatching S6 you can see her vulnerability and it's pretty clear she had a wall up. I know she finds it difficult to go back there - there's a recent video of Yuhua doing her S6 stand-up routine and you can see she's not happy. If I was speaking to Laganja now I would say: we love S6 Laganja, struggle and all, take her aside and give her some love, she deserves it.
She has to be one of the most quoted Drag Race alumni *ever* and deserves her flowers. Although they're not phrases unique to Laganja and part of drag/ballroom culture, many more queens started saying 'yes gawd!' and 'werk, mawma' on the show after her appearance on Season 6. The moment I fell in love with her and saw her as much more than an irritating energyball and drama maker of season 6 was when she, Jaidynn Diore Fierce and some others helped on the drag challenge in one of the Germany's next Top Model seasons I watched, they were super nice, incredibly patient and talented and I gained a massive respect for these two queens in particular.
@@kinglyyasin5985 I still hope they just somehow manage to make Drag Race Germany/Austria/Switzerland happen, even with the same judges, just as long as it takes on the Drag Race format.
I’ve had the privilege of falling in love with Jay Jackson before drag race when I stumbled upon random videos at Micky’s. Laganja has always been the kindest human I’ve known. When she finally came to Florida before drag race aired, she greeted me with love and hugs and treated me as though we had been friends as long as we’ve lived. I remember we went so hard for her sharing the online voting links and making her AS VISIBLE AS WE COULD! The original buds know how wonderful she is and season 6 never faltered our opinion. Jay is a superstar. A friend. A QUEEN FOR ALL SEASONS. I’m so proud to know her.
laganja is a huge inspiration to me. during season 6, I was in highschool and really struggling . laganja had a very similar personality to me, where when i was around others, i just want to be accepted and i try my hardest to get them to like me, which could come off as fake. i felt like i understood her frustrations and anxieties and seeing her succeed has been amazing to see. love her.
My introduction to drag was falling in love with Paris is Burning, I do not think one can underestimate how influential ballroom culture has been on drag, music, fashion and performance art. It is referenced in some form on nearly every episode of RPDR.
Laganja forever. Period. So much love for her. She’s such a strong, wonderful, and kind person and I hope she has all of the successes she deserves and has worked really hard for. I would loooove to see her come back as a choreographer on the show.
Laganja would thrive as a choreographer (and has) whereas the stress of competing in an All Stars would do in all her hard-earned work to stay balanced in her life. Damn, she is a dynamite entertainer.
As a drag race x ball kid I STAN how you included the history of the dip! We been fighting for this for so long lol... however a dip is a dip in our land, HOWEVER it’s executed! I personally can do about 3-5 different types of dips myself! Theres actually a death drop in another style of dance based from HBCU’s called j-sette if you’d like to see it🙌🏾
I just watched that lip-sync assassin performance last night and wow !!!! THAT was a lip-sync ASSASSINATION 🤣🤣 The level of dance skill , the look … it was incredible💙
A ballroom style dip DEFIES GRAVITY!! It's like the dipper literally FLOATS towards the floor and lands light as a feather! I love a death drop & a shablam but a beautiful dip blows my mind every time!!
Laganja is and has always been my very favorite Drag Race queen! I can never get enough of her energy and creativity. When she returned for that lip sync, my mind just completely exploded! That was the moment i had been waiting for! Anytime her dance class comes to town i make sure to sign up and all of you ought to also if she does it again! Its an awesome way to meet her and get what’s basically a private dance tutor from her. I took my 60 year old mom once and we had a blast! Will love her always and forever! 💚💚💚💚
I really liked Laganja. She was funny and provided good moments. it is a TV show, i don't understand why people would be upset at her for acting like she is on a TV show. Great video :)
I really loved her for going unashamedly technical with voguing terminology, like she went full five elements and paid all the right amounts of respect and them some.
I used to find Laganja annoying, ngl back in Season 6. I remembered watching her butterfly makeup tutorial for the first time that I started to like her and some of her clips from DragCon, not to forget her kind and energetic interaction with fans. Since then, I am a proud Laganja fan
This girl was soooo young and taken advantage of by production. I seriously wish that we could’ve seen her once she’d grown into her element more, but also the experience of doing drag race at that time might have been fundamental to her change. Either way- the bitch is TALENTED.
I've spoken to her quite a few times on Social Media and hands down she was one of the sweetest people I've ever spoken to. I cried the first time she interacted with me because I look up to her, but I'm glad that she's living in her truth, and is doing great. Love you Laganja!!
Shangela is also in the drag family, and Gia Gunn was adopted in later. Willow Pill is Yvie’s daughter; Vanjie is Alexis Matteo; the list goes on and on…
Just saying Season 6 wouldn’t have been anywhere near as iconic without Laganja. She brought the entertainment, the drama, and gave us timeless and historic moments on Drag Race.
I hated the way she was treated. Even when she was being mistreated she took everything on the chin because she was obviously ready/willing to learn. Her youth was definitely taken advantage of imo
About the death drop: I have many friends on the ballroom scene, and there's a lot of controversy about the term, but I really don't wanna focus on that. My comment says about the risks in doing the Dip without the correct technique: it can damage some parts of a person's body in a way that can be even irreversible, with the most risky sports on the elbows, the knees, and the back.
When bianca assumed laganja was faking excitement and surprise for her parents showing support, all because they already knew she was gay at the time. Bianca completely missed the point of what it meant for ganja, given that she fully transitioned nowadays.
You are incredible. So grateful to have discovered your channel today. Going thru it (life) and deep diving… and your content is somewhat quelling my anxiety as best I can beg for at this point. ♥️ Oh and I remember seeing Laganja on SYTYCD and was stunned bc I hadn’t been introduced to modern day drag until then but had been a major fan of that show from the get. I didn’t even put it together that it was her until awhile after I watched her on RPDR. I adore and respect her deeply. She stuns me every time. Loved this video! Anyway, happy day/month/year to you :)
I'm so happy Laganja didn't go back for All Stars. She definitely called it that they would try to work the "crazy" angle and put extra pressure on her to try to get her to crack. Her lip sync on AS6 was proof that all her haters were wrong, and that's all the "Rudemption" she needed.
Season 6 was my first season of drag race. I watched it when it debuted. I remember seeing the commercial for the first episode with my friend and I laughed so hard at Laganja's entrance line I had to record it and would rewatch it constantly until the episode finally aired. I really liked watching her the entire season, I didn't think she came off as fake at all, I thought she was entertaining and funny. I also remember really enjoying her runways (and I don't think she really received much praise for her runways, maybe ONE compliment or two).
Initially I found Laganga a bit flighty but as the season progressed, I found a soft spot for her. She's intelligent, sensitive and funny. I'm glad she's found her path and life is good for her. 💕
atp I’m so tired of the “you’re being fake” statement. What’s so bad about being super energetic and having a tv persona. I remember really getting mad with the treatment of Laganja bc ok maybe I understand why the judges would say to her to be more “real” but why the queens 😭 why does it affect them that much that they had to call her out in untucked. Same with Jan, I think her true self is just naturally energetic and positive
I think 2 things happened during s6 and laganja's presence. I think we saw the first time someone full of energy and excitement of representing her and her drag. And a little bit of not having her Marijuana. But I think laganja was just happy to be there that she just was on cloud 9 all the time. Amd I don't think the fans of the show were ready for such high energy. Almost like silky. S11 silky was just so excited to be there and wanted camera time, and over time queens know to stay and get the air time you gotta make love to the camera. And that's what maybe laganja did and that's what silky did. Now after years of finding out behind the scenes T and giving time to understand the two queens we see who they really are and not some tv character. They are nothing but pure joy and charismatic to their authentic selfs and art of drag. So proud and love them
I don't know if you've gotten a microphone for your more recent videos or if you've found a better set up for recording but it's much easier to hear you and I greatly appreciate your videos and the effort you put into them I enjoyed kiki-ing(sp) with somebody about drag race! I don't really know any other gay people I live in the country in Ohio and I work in a factory. My best friend is a straight guy, and drag race is not his thing not that straight should have anything to do with weather or not you like... If you can't tell I have ADD and sometimes I can't make it through a single sentence. But the point is it's nice to have somebody to ki ki with!
As a gay kid yes I’m in a gay family gay families are amazing but the best advice I can give don’t choose a family for pageantry or ballroom choose them for guidance and love
i hate how laganja was portrayed in season 6. they made her seem crazy when it was just anxiety and stress, i know exactly how she feels and id prob explode the same way she did in that situation. laganja really did change drag and i adore her. because of her i use the term medicated when i smoke my medical green. i know what its like to not have your anxiety medication and its not pretty. i am oddly calm in front of a crowd and a camera though. maybe because since i was born my dad made home movies whenever we went on vacation or had a birthday or christmas. i was used to a camera being there so i can act myself around one. i never feel like i have to perform in front of a camera. production will do anything to get emotions because it makes money so it was most def them wanting emotion porn. all they care about is money at the end of the day and thats it. if its not making them money, it needs to leave. omg the ballroom era...is THAT what thats called? i think thats why people dunno about it. its called ballroom and theres already a ballroom type of room for like fancy dancing, not THIS kind of dancing. i love ballroom dancing omg. the drag ballroom dancing i mean. is that why theres so many ball challenges in the show??? a nod to ballroom scene stuff and fancy balls?!
I found drag race in late 2013. 1st watching reruns & then the new season 6. I have a special place in my heart for Lagnja & all the s6 girls! Love her! +Her lip sync assassin lip sync was everything! 💚

I would absolutely live to see laganja astronja come back to drag race as a choreographer I would love to see her lead the dance and even appear in drag somehow
Also if they were to let her come back let this girl just bring some edibles with her, damn. Nobody's getting an advantage in Drag Race with a little bit of weed and it's legal where they're taping it. I do agree with her not wanting to go back although I'm sad about it

I've spoken to her quite a few times on Social Media and hands down she was one of the sweetest people I've ever spoken to. I cried the first time she interacted with me because I look up to her, but I'm glad that she's living in her truth, and is doing great. Love you Laganja!!
Laganja is legendary. I have always loved her since seeing her entering the workroom for the first time and her journey to who she is now.
Shangela is also in the drag family, and Gia Gunn was adopted in later. Willow Pill is Yvie’s daughter; Vanjie is Alexis Matteo; the list goes on and on…
Literally all Ganja had to say was "Alyssa Edwards is my drag mother" and everything would've made sense.
Keep shinning queen, you were a star long before the show aired, and you will always be that star.
In one of the Best Crossovers Ever, Ganj also made a guest appearance (pre-Drag Race!!) on Ask a Mortician.

I love Bianca, but that comment about Laganga's parents during Untucked was uncalled for!
I saw her at werk the world in Scotland and holy shit her performance was phenomenal
House of dry is so iconic I can’t
Initially I found Laganga a bit flighty but as the season progressed, I found a soft spot for her. She's intelligent, sensitive and funny. I'm glad she's found her path and life is good for her. 💕
This was very educational and Fantastic video!
Thank you very much! 💚
atp I’m so tired of the “you’re being fake” statement.
The Green Queen + The Green Gay = HEAVEN! 🥰🥰🥰
So proud and love them
Laganja is one of my favorite queens, she is hilarious and talented
I know! I'm sad some of my older videos have low microphone quality. But I'm glad I fixed it for my newer content
This is the redemption she deserves: no production filters, no deceptions, no ridicule
As a gay kid yes I’m in a gay family gay families are amazing but the best advice I can give don’t choose a family for pageantry or ballroom choose them for guidance and love
@@CashelOConnolly that too
The more videos I watch the more the production team seem to know the right buttons to push to make good edits :O
Walking with Laganja in Nature is one of my favorite things
One of the most talented a kind queen ... She's amazing
i hate how laganja was portrayed in season 6. they made her seem crazy when it was just anxiety and stress, i know exactly how she feels and id prob explode the same way she did in that situation. laganja really did change drag and i adore her. because of her i use the term medicated when i smoke my medical green. i know what its like to not have your anxiety medication and its not pretty.
i am oddly calm in front of a crowd and a camera though. maybe because since i was born my dad made home movies whenever we went on vacation or had a birthday or christmas. i was used to a camera being there so i can act myself around one. i never feel like i have to perform in front of a camera.
production will do anything to get emotions because it makes money so it was most def them wanting emotion porn. all they care about is money at the end of the day and thats it. if its not making them money, it needs to leave.
omg the ballroom era...is THAT what thats called? i think thats why people dunno about it. its called ballroom and theres already a ballroom type of room for like fancy dancing, not THIS kind of dancing. i love ballroom dancing omg. the drag ballroom dancing i mean. is that why theres so many ball challenges in the show??? a nod to ballroom scene stuff and fancy balls?!
getting recommended this video on 4/20 feels so appropriate i couldnt pass it up
no wonder gia and laganja were super close, trans solidarity
These videos are so so good ❤️ Your work is awesome
Although I do agree with your video regarding laganja my only problem with her was her over excessive use of AAVE
I found drag race in late 2013. 1st watching reruns & then the new season 6. I have a special place in my heart for Lagnja & all the s6 girls! Love her! +Her lip sync assassin lip sync was everything! 💚
ICONIC QUEEN! She is a trail blazer in this franchise
You are worth subscribing and turning on the bell like what!!! Please never change your work is amazing and with so much respect and love. Thank you for sharing.
Missed opportunity to say “ during this time Laganja went back to Tex-ass”
Me reading the thumbnail: Laganja slaying S6 and ASS
On collegehumor’s streaming network (dropout) there is a variety game show (game changer) where Laganja was a guest star. She was funny, gorgeous and gracious when a contestant splattered her with pottery juices. One of them was a huge fan so it was extra lovely
When Ganja and the other Queen accidentally and epically hit the splits at the same time....yasssssss
I think that was joselyn fox :)
💀💀💀💀 the Jackie Cox as Michelle Visage pic omfg
couldn’t have happened to a more deserving queen💚💚💚
jackie cox as michelle gets me EVERYTIME
I would absolutely live to see laganja astronja come back to drag race as a choreographer I would love to see her lead the dance and even appear in drag somehow
Obviously it depends on how a contestant acts, but it would be stupid for production to not give Laganja a redemption story.
I was very judgmental of her and shame on me. She is a beautiful sweet person and queen. I love her spoken word 😂
Your intro still gags me 😆😆😆
judges were saying people were "blah blah blah hiding behind a mask" like girl it's drag you are wearing a mask
Most iconic queen ever 😍💛
I absolutely adore Laganja ❤️
BTW, our girl, hands⬇️, had the BEST PROMO LOOK EVER!!!
Still one of my favorite promo looks. She KILLED it
Love your videos!! You are a talented young person, keep it up!
THE ROSE SCREENSHOT I CANT
Also if they were to let her come back let this girl just bring some edibles with her, damn. Nobody's getting an advantage in Drag Race with a little bit of weed and it's legal where they're taping it. I do agree with her not wanting to go back although I'm sad about it
MY GANJA, WE LOVE YOU
