I agree it was cool in the chunin exams because that guy could only do it with touch and it was cool with the 6 paths of pain because he could still be defeated by sage chakra and taijutsu. But now that it has no limits and is being wielded by alien gods? It just makes all the tension in these fights feel virtually nonexistent
True. But with the introduction of new powers such as shinjutsu, it could increase the tension of fights. After all I think “Boruto” is trying to get past ninjutsu and the age of ninja, and is starting to transition into the lore of mythology and gods.
@@jantheking7028 how so? Sure the plot is kinda weird but with the introduction of shinjutsu, it’s kinda obvious that ninjutsu is pretty much irrelevant now. And in my opinion a lot of the shinjutsu we’ve seen so far are pretty cool and extremely broken. Plus they literally have a shinjutsu called omnipotence… how much more godlike can you get than that?
Akatsuki was a good way on how to create varied "bosses" Aka Each Character focused on a certain form of Ninja style that they were masters of, something that left room for weaknesses.. And i wish we could get more of that .
Straight up, they're my favourite villain group in shounen. I think a lot of this is helped by Naruto being so long that it gives them a lot more development and time to show off their abilities compared to other villainous groups like the homunculi from FMA or La Squadra from JoJo's. Such a varried, unique set of abilities, with each member having multiple unique techniques and whipping out some insane things when pushed into a corner.
unfortunately that would require creativity and effort that we see the Boruto writers dont have and dont want to give, they only want to monetize nostalgia of Naruto and then tell their own story after baiting Naruto fans to watch their low/mid Chinese cultivation like story so they have to kill of anything and everything Naruto ever was and did
In videogames also where they make bosses super resistant to status effects, so if you have characters that are built for doing things like poison, paralysis, burning, etc., suddenly all the bosses are only vulnerable to brute force or some cheese strategy. Instead of making enemies immune to things, just give them more options to deal with them and that forces you to get more creative to do damage.
Akatsuki was a good way to deal with varied "bosses" Aka Each Character focused on a certain form of Ninja style that they were masters of, something that left room for weaknesses..
That is Digimon cyber series. The boss is strong and weak against nothing but defenses and attacks are buffed to heaven. Just use something with defense piercing attacks and make the final boss a joke. Instead they could have done something that would pay off team diversity, they had the mechanics but no.
Another criticism I have to give to Naruto/Boruto is that dojutsu is basically the super saiyan of Naruto. if you're not a saiyian , Namekian or any other alien race you're not that strong compared to the other cast.
Uchiha* You meant Uchiha, no dojutsu There's plenty of dojutsu that Kishi decided were not good enough because fck anyone who's not the protagonist or an Uchiha. Or hashirama.
@@ーテイル No I meant Doijutsu on a whole . The Otosutsuki, Boruto, Kawaki, rinnegan, Eida and Daemon etc. the only person in Boruto who is powerful without a doijutsu is Code but even his power is derived from Otosutsuki. @@ーテイルYou can choose not to accept it but if people have to deal with Dragon Ball Super being canon, you can deal with Boruto. At least Boruto has good writing in the manga. Unfortunately can’t say the same for Super.
I think the absorption jujitsu was his way to counter his absurdly op powers. He wrote himself into a corner where most of the powers his main heros have could one shot everyone. Hence, the necessity of the preta path
He cornered himself even more with ninjutsu absorption, rendering pretty much every other ninja useless. Only Naruto and Sasuke had a chance among ninjas and even 8 gates Rock Lee might not stand a chance against the likes of Isshiki.
The absorb power could have worked if only a few of the aliens could use it and force the cast to switch around or bring in rock Lee who could do might guy's style of youth shocking the aliens. That way we have to see the older cast make a lot of different groups that specialize in specific styles so the aliens have to team up to cover each other's weaknesses and then the stakes works that way like pain where destroying preta makes it easier to spam jutsu

Crazy how Sasuke had the rinnegan and didn’t absorb any ninjutsu in boruto while basically all of Kara, karma users, and even Naruto with ninja tech did

Did he use the rinnegan to absorb any of Kaguyas jutsu? Any of Narutos in Vinal Valley, in any of the novels or films? The problem is introducing this many jutsus and combos may be hard to remember in certain fights. The fights are as smart as the writer and let's just say Kishimoto was not always the smartest guy. He is a human after all.
“The fights are as smart as the writer” exactly 💯 that’s what makes me appreciate the FMA, HxH & JoJo’s so much more. Shounen doesn’t have to be simple fights, it’s up to the writer.
I agree with your perspective on the taijutsu fight between Baryon Mode Naruto and Isshiki. The animation was good, but I just didn't like the outfit and the fight felt so boring to me. If I wanted an amazing taijutsu fight I would have watched Kakashi v. Obito again.
The words "The fight felt so boring to me" and then "If I wanted an amazing taijutsu fight I would have watched Kakashi v Obito again" Is damn hilarious lmao
Actually, Shino's fight with Kankuro the second time we learn about people with the ability to steal chakra. We learn there that his clan's kikaichu can detect, measure, and feed off of an individuals chakra. It's what makes them so hard to host. Its even how Shino beats Kankuro. Shino has his kikaichu follow Kanuro's chakra strings back to his actual body where they drain him like a juice box.
Yeah, and it is also balanced by the fact that bugs are pretty frail, so he coudn't just throw them to the enemy and expect them to not counter it, he needs to surprise them and slide trough weak spots or else he has nothing
@@cardescomedioses3674 Exactly. It's not like he's just holding out his hands and absorbing fireballs and giant blasts, he has to use bugs which can be killed relatively easily.
@empty shogun well I don't understand the correlation between my comment and your question. What I stated was the amount of time he had to learn the techniques and learn to utilize them effectively. What you stated is a feat of something else that he was able to do but to answer your question anyway, he was more than likely able to achieve such an impressive feat because he had already had them sealed and they were touching his chakra while they were sealed inside of his technique
Pretty sure it’s hinted that once you acquire 6paths yin or yang that you already know what you can do and how you can apply your techniques, e.g Naruto immediately knowing how to fly, Sasuke knowing his Susanoo would shield Naruto, Sasuke knowing how to use his teleportation, Obito knowing how to use the orbs, even Nagato knowing how to summon the gedo statue
absorption is one of those powers that just isn't very interesting. it works the same pretty much anywhere regardless of whose using it, there's like 3 ways to deal with it across any universe/ip and its hard to spice it up without making it either useless or straight up unbeatable. its often used as a crutch and given to villains ad nauseam to raise the stakes instead of actually giving them interesting abilities. why make the character strong or difficult to deal with mechanically when you can just make them outright immune to most forms of attack? absorption and negation abilities are, in my opinion, the anti-thesis to creativity and become exponentially more annoying and lame the more characters that have it.
@@MiloJamesThatch Kishimoto chose absorption for every fight after that too, and it didn't even do anything there because they didn't even need to strategize around it, they just put magic anti-absorption juice on their attacks and that was the series from then on.
@MiloJamesThatch he chose absorption because it makes the antagonists more threatening with the least amount of strain on himself writing wise. When he wants the user to look cool he has them absorb a gigantic attack or hit a protagonist with a move that looks really painful and makes them really tired. When he wants the user to get hit, he has the protagonists hit them with something they can't absorb, usually physical attacks, or just makes the user forget they have the ability. People gotta stop pretending like authors are infallible and all knowing when it comes to their stories. Especially writers like kishimoto who clearly doesn't know or care about what he's doing half the time.

Not sure if you've done a video on this before but this reminds me how healing in the Naruto verse has evolved. It went from slowly being able to stabilize or healing a person very slowly. A few Ninja like Tsunade or Kabuto were versed well enough to heal them selves at a cost. Later on medical ninja just become a back up battery to the main characters, especially starting in the 4th Great War, or more particularly Karin.
I think with Sasuke in the final fight it's that Naruto at that point didn't have enough chakra to absorb. The line that Naruto says is not that Sasuke's absorbing his own chakra but "Kurama's chakra".

I feel like DBZ had a similar problem for a while with cell, the original androids etc absorbing ki. Was really glad when that stopped being the main thing that happened in fights lol
DBZ did it way better because only 2 characters could absorb ki: Andriod 19 and andriod 20. But in Late Naruto and Boruto, it feels like almost every character can absorb chakara
There's really only three characters in the mainline Dragon Ball franchise that can absorb ki. 19, 20, and Moro. In Naruto Chakra absorption/negation becomes omnipresent the later it goes on causing things to get very stale very fast. But in Dragon Ball it's used so sparingly that it actually can create interesting scenarios where the characters try and create workarounds to those abilities.
A better comparison in DBZ is regeneration. Most of the villains need to be totally vaporized by a stronger opponent, which limits the ways the fights can go.
@@thedarklordx Even then, there is only 3 villains that use regeneration in DBZ: Buu, Moro, and Cell. (arguably fused zamasu as well, but thats a bit different). But in Shippuden and Boruto, basically EVERY major villain has chakara absorption. Kawaki, Isshiki, Kaguya, Momoshiki, Delta, Madara, etc.
@@smilelydogge2821 Outer Karaa member Boro is the only Boruto villain without chakra absorption since Boro can only regenerate. which is why the new team 7 against Boro was one of my favored fights in Boruto. Boro could also use virus's to keep his opponents at bay.
My head Canon is that absorbing stuff with the preta path costs. So you begin with a deficit. So you ought to hope whatever you are absorbing makes up for that deficit and then some. Imagine it this way Preta path absorption: -35Chakra Healthy Rasengan: +40 Valley of the End Fatigued Rasengan: +20 Fresh batch Kurama Chakra: +40 Some things just aint with absorbin.
While I agree on the whole, I hated absorption back with the Preta path. Like you mentioned, it's like a super convenient bottomless pit and they don't seem to bother using that chakra or noting any boost to their own chakra supply in general, not until near the end where Sasuke absorbs some chakra from Naruto to power up his last chidori which was the first time I cared about the Preta Path being used. Same with the damn absorbing ninja tools and karma, the absorption seemed limitless. I do have some exceptions and disagreeances, though; Getting around Madara's preta path wasn't good; it took like ALL of them making a multi-layered plan along with the susanoo excuse just to get around it! The plan was cool, but also showcases how utterly broken Preta path is. Kaguya was definitely worse than Momoshiki. I liked Momoshiki's power in that he could absorb it, but could also fire it back amplified. And he had a weakness in destroying the eyes in his rinnegan hands, or simply catching him off guard, like striking him in the back or something. Meanwhile Kaguya was just treated as straight up jutsu-immune from any angle, no real weaknesses. I liked Delta's absorption too because at least she showed a limit to the amount she can absorb and can also fire back the jutsu, it wasn't like the chakra was being dumped into an empty void that may or may not be used later. Kawaki's I'm okay with too because he at least also fires it back in the form of a blast. Boruto's though, is just going into an empty void again, which makes jutsus feel hollow, without impact. Because when they are absorbed in that manner, they effect nothing.
critique of your point about the preta path: Nagato was an expert at using the rinnegan and is the only human character in the entire verse who grew up with a rinnegan and had it for his entire life. Madara awakens it at the end of his life and sasuke awakens it during the war arc. Out of all human characters, Nagato is the most skilled at using the rinnegans abilities because of his time and training. When sasuke fights naruto, he has only figured out how to use a couple of its abilities and even in boruto it seems as if he still isn't skilled at all the rinnegan;s powers, as he doesn't use the vast majority of its arsenal ever. Sasuke was likely not skilled enough in the preta path to simultaneously use a jutsu and absorb ninjutsu. its honestly not fair to compare nagato to any other rinnegan user because of his natural chakra affinity from his Uzumaki heritage and the fact the he spent the most time with a rinnegan than any other character. he is a special case. The rinnegan has been shown to need training in order to be used effectively during the war arc after sasuke gets his rinnegan. throughout the fight he is experimenting with it and doesn't seem to know its limitations yet. this is different from the mangekyo, which has been shown to be sort of instinctual, such as when sasuke activates the susanoo the first time or when obito awakens his mangekyo. They seemed to know exactly how to use it immediately, while the rinnegan has been shown to have a learning curve. Obito only had the rinnegan for a couple days, and only knew its abilities from watching nagato, so of course he doesn't use all its abilities.
Hiruko, a villain from the Naruto movie “The Will of Fire”, can also absorbs ninjutsu and chakra as well and he can fire back the ninjutsus he absorbed back at his enemies. He was the first Naruto villain with this power since Momoshiki has the same attack in “Boruto the Movie”, the Boruto writers just lazily rehashed it as an Otsutsuki power.
Remember that all chakra comes from the Otsutsuki Clan. ninja's would not exist if kaguya did not have sex and pass down chakra to Naruto's world in the beginning.
@@1BadAssArchAngelvs14 The Otsutsukis was shoehorned into the story by Kishimoto because Boruto needs to exist. His editors forced him to do it because they want to continue the Naruto series in some way. A major contradiction to the origin of chakra is theBoruto series making the origin of the Otsutsukis more convoluted since apparently, they are like the “Saiyans” of Naruto with a pair of Otsutsukis going to each planet to consume chakra by harvesting it’s fruit which is a major retcon. How could there be chakra on Naruto’s planet if Kaguya was the originator of chakra? Boruto is making a contrived mess of the original Naruto with its retcons.

Using Sage power could of been something to combat chakra/ninjutsu absorbtion, due to it being very hard to control. However, all Otsutsuki seem like they get that pass.
I think the biggest issue is that they’re eliminating the coolest techniques by negating ninjutsu. Regardless, they’ve kind of gotten to a point where it’s hard to challenge the characters without some negating ability since the main characters will just one shot everything.

Take it from this perspective. The shinobi world may have come too reliant on do-, gen-, and ninjutsu. Everything has become an out of this world spectacle and become over powered "magic." Even more so with ninja tools and chakra controlled "guns." If you can absorb all of that, then really all that's left that would be an effective fighting style is basic taijutsu and kenjutsu. We are seeing the literal rise of the Eight Gates and all of Might Guy's and Rock Lee's teachings and way of life. Things are on the path to possibly going back to the fundamentals, the way of life before there was even chakra.
I'd like to see more fights with weapons. Not "magical" weapons like the Seven Swords of Kirigakure, but your regular swords like the samurai had. Or ninjato. Special shurikens could also do, though. Fuuma Shuriken deserves more screen time other than just that fight with Zabuza.
Being honest, when we think about how ninjutsu works, and how it was worked exhaustively throughout the series, it makes a lot of sense that now, in the Boruto series that is a post-war era where they faced this type of techniques they ended up developing their own. It also marks the series on its unbalanced use of ninjutsu all the time with very little exceptions and the sporadic use of taijutsu and the almost non existing use of genjutsu. No wonder why they have to Amp up ninjutsu all the time and negate it all the time, because it's everything there is now. It would be incredible if the series come back to the balance of nin/tai/genjutsu and how to counter each of them.
I’m assuming the boost of characters with chakra absorption is because they wanted to tone down the fights for Boruto and in Boruto “shippuden” the introduction of shinjutsu will be jutsus that can’t be absorbed and more sage users to combat them so that way the fights can be tuned up later in the series
Well, if you look from the other point of view, all good fights were mostly taijutsu based, and kishimoto actually said, that he doesn't like, that the end of naruto were just some guys spamming jutsus. So introducing lots of characters, that can somehow reduce the amount of jutsus main characters can use in a fight is an intentional thing
You bring a good point. Not every villain needs ninjutsu absorption. At the very least, put more limitations on chakra absorption. Why not have a ninjutsu absorption that only works on lighting jutsu.
Tbh the weakness of the karma not being about to absorb ninjutsu that’s created naturally could bring ninjutsu back to relevance because it makes the characters have to fight smarter. For example karma can’t absorb shadow possession so shikamaru has that in his favor. Next fire, remember Asuma would create ash clouds and kept flint in his teeth to spark a flame, that natural fire you can use for fire jutsu. If you fire a fireball in the sky like Sasuke you can create storm clouds and use natural lighting You literally walk on earth so earth style would definitely be more relevant vs karma If you fight next to big body’s of water that’s your water element And finally wind is literally all around you everywhere because it’s the air itself so you have that advantage But tbh absorption isn’t just a Naruto/boruto issue it’s a media issue because you can point to multiple anime’s and comics that use the ability in some shape and form because when you scale powerful characters finding a way to match them becomes increasingly harder
Hand-to-hand combat is very creative from an animation point of view, Instance of using big flashy FX they have to fight in interesting ways in hand-to-hand
Boruto producers probably take a look at Naruto and have no idea on how are we gonna present a new threat that Naruto, Sasuke and the surviving characters wont destroy immediately
While it wouldn't have been a great answer, since power creep is part of the problem, let other kekkei genkai level up. At least then you could have more variety in your OP broken abilities and fights.
I believe they just added it in because they either couldn’t be asked to draw jutsus or they just wanted every fight to be taijutsu based. That way nobody would complain about the characters straight up not using any jutsu.
They realised absorption of Jutsu was getting out of hand when they retconed Momoshiki absorbing Shikamaru's shadow possession jutsu. Seems even those writing are seeing the problem with absorbing jutsu
I feel it was kinda necessary and liked the limitation Boruto gave--it only works on chakra itself, not jutsu that controls real elements. This allows for the potential of using jutsu without making fights kamehameha slugfests. (...Too bad they don't take advantage of this weakness.)
Yes, indeed. The amount of bs fans have to come up with just to justify Madara's asspulls is incredible, really. Also, all of the writing problems Boruto has can be traced back to Shippuden in some way, shape or form.

The all encompassing theme of Naruto imo which most people had forgotten is answering the question "Are shinobies just tools?". This question was raised when Sakura asked Kakashi if the way a ninja should be is really as what Zabuza and Haku were saying. Its a question similar to "Are soldiers just tools?". The shinobi in Naruto IMO is a direct parallel of real world soldiers and as we all know, soldiers are like tools and they also use tools in the form of weapons to accomplish their task. Kakashi reiterated Zabuza and Haku's wordview saying that "Shinobi must not seek a reason for their own existence. What's important is to exist merely as tools." to which Naruto then replied, "I wonder if that's what really it means to become a real ninja. I guess....I guess.... but I don't like that!" to which Sasuke then asked Kakashi if he hold the same belief. Kakashi then said "Hmmm.... well, that's why all ninja live trying to figure that out without realizing.... Like Zabuza.... and that kid (Haku)". Then with a good zooming in of the camera on Naruto's back, to which Naruto responded "Okay! I've just decided! I'm going to pursue my own way of being a Ninja! I'm gonna sprint straight ahead and pursue a way that I absolutely won't regret!". That ninja way is his iconic catchphrase which he said countless times during the entire show. The "shinobies are just tools" theme was flawlessly delivered throughout the series with all the major villains, like Nagato, Obito, Madara, and even Kaguya as well as the Otsutsuki being kind of "tools" for other characters. Speaking about tools, ninjutsu is another tool used by shinobi and we know that their are strength and weakness in every tools. We can classify them as either inferior or superior. In og naruto and naruto shippuden, ninjutsu is a widely used and superior tool compared to the typical shinobi tools like basic kicks, punches, shuriken, kunai, katanas etc. but in boruto story, the author seems to exploit the weakness of ninjutsu and introduced another set of tools called "shinjutsu" which I think is a plot device that will be used to showcase the strength or advantage of ninjutsu as well as hand to hand combat. If you think that ninjutsu absorption is destroying the plot then please do look at it and think of it in a different angle.
It was cool when only kisame and that sasuke oponent could absorb chakra, and it was still cool when pain had it, even madara he could absorb chakra but it was his special ability, i mean he used uchiha reflection with his fan, it was still cool because not all charecters had it and it didn't brake the system, i mean madara could absorb ninjutsu even before he had the rinigan but when naruto hit him with that lava style rasenshuriken he didn't absorb it, presumbly because his chakra absorption had some limits, but in burto everone can absorb chakra even minor vilians, and it doesn't have a limit, i mean samehada was the best weapon any shinobi can have in the original serios, but it's literly useless in buruto, because if you are strong enough to be relevant you propably alrady can absorb chakra
The, Ninjutsu absorption adds an interesting dynamic to battles and strategy in the Naruto franchise. It's all about keeping things fresh and exciting, in my opinion.
Sasuke couldn't do the absorption like that because, as he stated, he's not experienced enough to use multiple Rinnegan abilities together or with other moves.

That would make sense, except Sasuke aborbs both the Bijuu and Naruto's own chakra in that same final battle. He then just like... never uses it again -I honestly can't recall a moment where Adult Sasuke has used the preta path? I mean surely he's had to have used it at least once.
Nobody besides Pain should have had the 6 paths abilities imo. He was the definitive Rinnegan user, and I think it would have made him stand out more if the other users of the Rinnegan simply had different powers derived from it. It took Nagato a long time to master the Rinnegan powers, and it would make sense if he tailored them as personal techniques.
So what u say at some points and i agree with that, isn't that this ability on its own is the problem but rather that the writters don't handle it well, which is what causes problems. Absorbing energy/attacks is a staple of shonen manga since the beginning and honestly, yes even though i haven't read every shonen ever, i can't think of a series that was ruined by it. So i rly feel its formost a writting problem and more a symptom than the problem itself. Every type of attack, power or whatever can be turned bad if the writting relies on it to heavily a sign that perhabs the story or at least the authors ideas for the series have run its course. Famous example are transformations in dbz/gt/super. Just because that series overuses them doesn't mean that they aren't still one of my favorite things in shonen in general.
Naruto isn't very good at balance. Balance problems go as early as Chapter 06 of the manga where Substitution Jutsu basically cost nothing and you could even replace yourself with literally any object in sight, including an opponent, AND you could _spam_ it.
The sage mode limitation of the preta path is a massive misconception due to poor translation. The reason Naruto could destroy the preta path is because he was actively absorbing nature energy into himself. However before he could merger it with his chakra to create sage chakra, pain absorbed it along side his chakra. And pain not being a sage couldn’t control it and prettified. However if the chakra and nature energy is already made into sage chakra. Then anybody can use it, as demonstrated by madara.
"It was poorly translated" I guess I was the only person on this planet who watched it in English Dub? Or maybe the words "Nature energy... not very easy to control isn't it?" wasn't very simple to understand?
@@zqninja3334 No it was contradictory if you watch the fight. Naruto himself says Nature energy is really hard to control when pain immobilises him and absorbs his energy. However Pa Frog then goes on to say something about pain not being able to handle sage chakra. Which is I assume a translation error. Because pain’s absorbing path only lost due to absorbing Naruto energy not sage chakra. Anybody can use sage chakra once it has been created. It is creating said chakra that is extremely difficult and risking.

So far only 4 Boruto villains had it Ishiki,Urashiki filler, and momoshiki and delta have chakra absorbtion. the rest of Boruto villains do not even have it. Daemon and Edia do not have chakra abortion ether and none of the other members have Karaa have it ether not even code has the Justu absorption skill ,yet he his karma does not absorb justu it creates rifts in space in stead.
The franchise died right when they thought this slow start of a new series (Boruto) was acceptable for something with such a legacy. They need to do a FMA:Brotherhood retconning cuz they had so much potential but entirely dropped the ball in soooo many ways.
Sasuke with the rinnegan is one of the biggest downgrade there is. Dude literally can do 6 path jutsu yet the best he do is some teleporting shit that uses too much cakra. He even barely use chibaku tensei which probably is the basic rinnegan skill. He if he wanted heck could revive the whole uchiha clan.
If there were peculiar ways in Boruto where ninjutsu can actually deal damage instead of being absorbed, it would've been great. I still have hopes on the Boruto series, maybe they are going to introduce such a thing.
You technically can. You can throw or summon real objects (Ninja items are always good) and Taijutsu being a focus keeps battles better than throwing giant energy bombs.
@@awesomepotato4499 Karma is good because it needs to be absorbed by hand. Also it’s not a self-sufficient ability where the practitioner can drain chakra for more chakra for more drainage, which an Otsutsuki CAN do. IMO Boruto needs some unique way of fighting as a character which would be a breakthrough. Naruto cheated his way out with his clones in training after all.
I think you overlooked a single scene, a one page technique of Madara's that is not absorption or some special power. That he uses once and never again. The wiki calls it Uchiha Return. The wiki describes it as the user nullifying the effects of an attack by converting it into wind chakra , which is then reflected back. He can just poof any jutsu into another chakra nature and throw it's own power and effect back. Given the effect in the fight, it most likely converts it back to it's original form cause I haven't seen spontaneous explosive air before. What's even more hilarious is how the wiki describes it as a B-rank wind jutsu. B rank being for jutsu of Jonin or even Chunin and "B-rank techniques are typically useful and can be learned relatively easily with enough time, such as the Shadow Clone Technique.". So lore wise Madara and Obito already had an op instant chakra absorption converting counter technique that anybody can learn. And it's apparently so easy that even Kiba could learn it, as he already learnt shadow clones. Realistically this would've made the alien reflect attacks hilarious. "Oh you're throwing back my attack at double power? poof. Now it's gone. Poof. Now I throw it back again." The most ridiculous game of ping pong. And with it's classification of absorption, you could technically just nullify all jutsu and absorb part of it, then throw the rest back.
I actually believe that ninjutsu absorption is the fatal outcome of this world. It always revolved around ninjas and therefore ninjutsu, so it was bound that someday, there would be a "natural" counter to it. Balance is always the aim.
I will never understand people that defend Boruto and say it’s a good show. Like to even make the anime watchable they say you have to watch it like a seasonal anime. Yeah that’s what I want the sequel of Naruto to be. A show where you can only watch for about two months at best and then have to wait an entire year till you can watch it again.
I presume he means strictly from manga. That fight along with the Baryon fight and the Jigen vs Naruto Sasuke fights were pretty good in the anime. I have to agree though, the fights in the manga don't really pop like they did in Naruto and Shippuden.
Nagato wasn't "an old man" in his edo tensei fight. Remember, his hair was gray fron rinne rebirth's stress on the body and he was skinny because of the chakra depletion caused by the Gedou mado. Absorbing Bee's chakra just restored his chakra reserves.
Absorbing chakra (energy) is one thing and absorbing ANY kind of ninjutsu as I undertstand is a completely different thing, because in the first case they are absorbing Chakra directly from the opponent in its purest form, while a ninjutsu is already a manifested form of chakra as an attack? how can they absorb any kind of elemental attack is never explained and makes no sense to me. In part 1 worked well but in shippuden is just too op
Obito does not absorb chakra because he just couldn't use all the six paths due to him not being a good host for madara's rinnegan as much as Nagato was. In addition to that, he had just one of madara's rinnegan bacause he couldn't beare both of them. Obito does not use the repulsion path either. Pain is the best villain in naruto for me but its because Nagato's arc was so goddamn well written. Nagato's arc was to Naruto what chimeras ant arc was to Hunter x Hunter.
1:57. Nope! The next time was jurobo, when he trapped shikamaru, naruto, kiba, neji and choji in that earth technique of his. I hate to be that guy, but I just rewatched the episode today
I think the way to balance it is to make it like a buffer to charkra to a cap, like a battery that can charge to 120%. The rest has to be burned off as you absorb . Or it requires some chakra to start the absorb
Who's the best Naruto villain?
Uhicha
Madara
Sasuke
Obviously Hikaku
Orochimaru
Reason no one after Nagato used the Rinnegan as efficiently:
Kishi realized how OP it was and forever needed it.
Facts 💯
The knife to the eye really settles that
forever needed it? Do you mean nerf?
It's hilarious Because to this Day Pain is the best Rinnegan user
The only one to master all abilities
I agree it was cool in the chunin exams because that guy could only do it with touch and it was cool with the 6 paths of pain because he could still be defeated by sage chakra and taijutsu. But now that it has no limits and is being wielded by alien gods? It just makes all the tension in these fights feel virtually nonexistent
Exactly and it was only one version of the 6th paths and something he couldn’t just spam all the time
True. But with the introduction of new powers such as shinjutsu, it could increase the tension of fights. After all I think “Boruto” is trying to get past ninjutsu and the age of ninja, and is starting to transition into the lore of mythology and gods.
@@sixpathshashira Well its doing a bad job at it.

Isn’t there a side manga about each Akatsuki member or is that just Itachi?
unfortunately that would require creativity and effort that we see the Boruto writers dont have and dont want to give, they only want to monetize nostalgia of Naruto and then tell their own story after baiting Naruto fans to watch their low/mid Chinese cultivation like story so they have to kill of anything and everything Naruto ever was and did

Imagine it this way
Preta path absorption: -35Chakra
Healthy Rasengan: +40
Valley of the End Fatigued Rasengan: +20
Fresh batch Kurama Chakra: +40
Some things just aint with absorbin.
While I agree on the whole, I hated absorption back with the Preta path. Like you mentioned, it's like a super convenient bottomless pit and they don't seem to bother using that chakra or noting any boost to their own chakra supply in general, not until near the end where Sasuke absorbs some chakra from Naruto to power up his last chidori which was the first time I cared about the Preta Path being used. Same with the damn absorbing ninja tools and karma, the absorption seemed limitless. I do have some exceptions and disagreeances, though;
Getting around Madara's preta path wasn't good; it took like ALL of them making a multi-layered plan along with the susanoo excuse just to get around it!
Very good points
critique of your point about the preta path: Nagato was an expert at using the rinnegan and is the only human character in the entire verse who grew up with a rinnegan and had it for his entire life.
@@VanLe-gk3ie Chakra is just inherited spirit life energy within the body remember this is why chakra can be used for spiritual chakra based communication just like Hagamoro Otsutsuki said like when Lady Tsunade said if a ninja's chakra network is broken or cut then the person slowly dies of leaking chakra and life. When the Otsutsuki clan plant the Biju tree on a planet they absorb the planets chakra thus making the planet die out completely. Remember Hagamoro Otsutsuki said chakra is the pure essence of spirit ,and life like the tree's and the very nature around the life force of the planets have chakra ,and the earth has chakra, that's why the planet has chakra and that's why "Nature Chakra energy" exists as well. IT'S NOT A RETCON IF THIS WAS EXPLINED by Hagamoro Otsutsuki him self. besides before Kagyua Otsutsuki appeared nobody in Naruto's world knew what chakra was ,Nor had the power to obtain chakra ,so that's why Hagamoro and the Otsutsuki clan makes sense.

@@mahiru20tenwe could be going back to it if the comment above us is to be believed.
So introducing lots of characters, that can somehow reduce the amount of jutsus main characters can use in a fight is an intentional thing
nope, they were not
You'd hope this would be Lee's time to shine and have ninja return to basics with taijutsu and strategy
Don't know why but watching this man shit on boruto while eating dinner has become my daily routine.
You bring a good point. Not every villain needs ninjutsu absorption. At the very least, put more limitations on chakra absorption. Why not have a ninjutsu absorption that only works on lighting jutsu.
Boruto writers are not very creative that why they even bring cyborg to the story it would be better if they used the puppet instead
Ever since Kaguya appeared, Naruto franchise became a walking corpse, and still is.
RIP BOZO
Tbh the weakness of the karma not being about to absorb ninjutsu that’s created naturally could bring ninjutsu back to relevance because it makes the characters have to fight smarter.
For example karma can’t absorb shadow possession so shikamaru has that in his favor.
Next fire, remember Asuma would create ash clouds and kept flint in his teeth to spark a flame, that natural fire you can use for fire jutsu.
If you fire a fireball in the sky like Sasuke you can create storm clouds and use natural lighting
You literally walk on earth so earth style would definitely be more relevant vs karma
If you fight next to big body’s of water that’s your water element
And finally wind is literally all around you everywhere because it’s the air itself so you have that advantage
But tbh absorption isn’t just a Naruto/boruto issue it’s a media issue because you can point to multiple anime’s and comics that use the ability in some shape and form because when you scale powerful characters finding a way to match them becomes increasingly harder
Quick fix, add poison chakra. If the ninjutsu gets absorbed it damages the absorbrer.
It would’ve been fine if there was some limit or if it was rarer. Like have the absorption be exactly like androids 17 and 18. Make them have a limit.
It's simple do a time skip when Naruto and sasuke well be dead but the problem is money
While it wouldn't have been a great answer, since power creep is part of the problem, let other kekkei genkai level up. At least then you could have more variety in your OP broken abilities and fights.
I happy with it and it leads more hand to hand fights and we have shinjutsu now..
I believe they just added it in because they either couldn’t be asked to draw jutsus or they just wanted every fight to be taijutsu based.
That way nobody would complain about the characters straight up not using any jutsu.
I love your calm voice, you really calms me everytime 😏🖤
They realised absorption of Jutsu was getting out of hand when they retconed Momoshiki absorbing Shikamaru's shadow possession jutsu.
Seems even those writing are seeing the problem with absorbing jutsu
I feel it was kinda necessary and liked the limitation Boruto gave--it only works on chakra itself, not jutsu that controls real elements. This allows for the potential of using jutsu without making fights kamehameha slugfests. (...Too bad they don't take advantage of this weakness.)
I'm amazed to see Naruto fans struggling to accept that Kishimoto fucked up.
EDIT: Genjutsu is not a thing anymore.

@@soyjoyy STRONGER THAN NARUTO BUT NOT AS GOD AS NARUTO . NARUTO IS ON THE TOP .

Jutsu absorption is different from Chakra absorption

@@awesomepotato4499 maybe, but Ikemoto sucks dick at drawing fights
Poof. Now I throw it back again."
The most ridiculous game of ping pong.
Balance is always the aim.
theres no balance to that with are you talking about it's completely destroys nijutsu
I will never understand people that defend Boruto and say it’s a good show. Like to even make the anime watchable they say you have to watch it like a seasonal anime.
