    Shelly Ann is always a world beater on any good day. Determined and ever focused
    Specialised 100, 200, and 4×100 runner. One of the best athletes the world has ever produced. More to come from this woman.

    Euh.. even when I was formerly coach and technical judge as well, I have been against that silly rule which exempt, eliminating an athlete from the race only because in a fraction of a second has jump the starter's shot, so many athletes 🤔 would have been eliminated and exempted from running the race if this rule was applied long before in the past as many well-known athletes males and females have ever jumped the starter's shot 😲 I consider this rule really unfair 😁😊🙏

    When technology ruins sport. Only the computer could detect any difference in reaction time. Schippers is a model of decorum in accepting the ridiculous decision without question.

    • @dereckdean578
      @dereckdean578 3 роки тому

      Well maybe she was the model of decorum of acceptance this time but Ms. Schippers has been red flaged before and has protested successfully and was allowed to line up again and compete after the false start was awarded to her.

    • @BBrunnel

      I agree! There was barely a movement. All she did was flinch which she shouldn't even be penalised for. It's not like she started early.

  • @dereckdean578
    @dereckdean578 3 роки тому +10

    They really need to adjust the reaction time sensors on those starting blocks and I'll tell you why. If an athlete anticipates the starters pistol and correctly guesses the gunshot or by some luck times it correctly or is super fast off the blocks ,she should still be able to line up and compete.Then there also are computer glitches and electronics malfunctioning. I am not saying for the officials to do away with the one false start rule but for goodness sake, recalibrate that system and LET THE ATHLETES RUN.

    • @SamOwenI
      @SamOwenI 3 роки тому

      There needs to be a deterrent against athletes trying to start when they haven't yet heard the starting pistol. It's heartbreaking when athletes get disqualified but they know the rules going into it. It's not a surprise if they get caught.

    • @mattutter3525
      @mattutter3525 3 роки тому +1

      I said this on another video, but if athletes are allowed to guess the gun and continue even if .01 after the gun, then there'll just end up being way more false starts as people will guess the gun more and more rather than react, and inevitably they'll get it wrong from time to time.

    Asher-Smith is a pretty and chocolaty Sistah!! It seems she doesn't have a long front stride which will allow her to cover more ground.
    Okagbare has lips to die for. She needs to work on a faster start. She could be the Bolt of the women due to her height. You can tell that she can come on towards the end of the race. But she will have to stay even with the field from the start like Bolt does, then his long stride kicks in.

Explosive training with weights puts tremendous stress on the joints and bones, but does very little to develop strength as momentum takes away from full range of movement muscular contraction as the weight is literally thrown up. As for doing power cleans, which are really dangerous unless you want to be an Olympic weight lifter are the wrong exercise for developing muscular strength in the legs. Squats, leg presses and hamstring curls performed with heavy weight under full control are much more effective at developing explosive strength in the legs and you don't have the risk of injuring your lower back, shoulders and arms. Why would you want increased mass to carry on your upper body when you are sprinting to achieve the fastest time? You want the lightest upper body with the most powerful legs to propel the body down a 100 meters in the fastest time. Shelly Ann comes outta the blocks so fast I'm trying to see is she cheating or what, nope she's just that explosive, but Elaine Ran her down a few days ago.

    I used to race in swimming and false starts happened fairly often. If swimmers were kicked off the blocks for that no one would have stood for it. One strike is way too harsh.

      People would use it as a strategy if there wasn't any penalty for doing it (false starting can be quite distressful for the other athletes, as they could lose their concentration/focus)
