Try cleansing balm. It removes the lip stains quickly and with no harsh rubbing. You’ll love it! Very quick and easy! ( I use Clinique btw)
I have stashed one unopened red Douglas' Mattissim matt lipstick, I would love to help and also add an amazing lip balm based on honey that is made in my country (Poland), but it might take a while because of corona.

same. I am in Toronto and havent seen the new shades anywhere. I have asked Maybelline on IG and they send me this weird message that is available at drugstores but they are not so, I dont know.... I really love the new shades. Let me know, Emily if you find them please! TY

I don't really like the Maybelline Superstay Matte Ink. I find them to be to heavy on the lips. I can feel it all day long, and for me they are quite uncomfortable. I prefer the Maybelline Superstay Matte crayons.
I had the same problem, but since I started applying the thinnest amount possible, they became my favourites!
For me it's the other way round, I find the crayons so drying compared to the liquid lipsticks.

The Maybelline Superstay Ink lipsticks are my holy grail! I never have to babysit them. Dancer is my favorite shade, too. 👍 And I always use the Garnier micelles water in waterproof to remove it, and my waterproof eye makeup. Works like a champ!
Yes, they're great and the most bullet proof ones out there but the Sephora formula is a bit better and more comfortable imo.
i used to use the Superstay ones, but then found Infallible. Feels slightly better and actually hangs on a tad better i find. Also drugstore. Though i would recommend wal mart because pricing.
Do these hold up with a gloss over them?
@@SixtiesWoman Yes they do, but I suggest you apply just a little bit in the center and blend it with your finger

I have some from NABLA and Colourpop and I love them because they are really comfortable. Kat von D are way drier but they have many more shades.

I really like the Yves rocher ones! They are so comfortable. I like the maybelline ones but if I apply it a second time on one day it looks so ugly and dull for some reason
Ugh I am so sad because for me the Maybelline one has the type of formula that really is impossible for my lips. It’s so thick and drying for me (I even tried it with lipbalm underneath and it’s the same) and it always disappears on the inside of my lips leaving only like a thicker lipline behind. I have no idea if it’s my lips or what? I don’t even have to try hard to remove it at all. And I did try multiple ones so I definitely did not get a bad one
I have the same problem! It feels drying and uncomfortable, yet it doesn’t seem to dry down fully because it transfers, it crumbles off on the insides and leaves a line on the outsides. And my lips have peeled after every time I’ve worn them. I’m bummed because I’ve heard good things and I love the colour (Fighter) so I don’t get it.
@@mixy8 I experience the exact same thing! My lips never peeled so much as they did with this product or with the Milani one that everybody lives but is literally powdered chalk on my lips😭 the only products that feel comfortable and are somewhat matte are the Maybelline vivid mattes, the NYX soft matte lip creams and the MAC powder kiss lipstick (my absolute favourite formula ever for a lipstick). But they are not longwearung or transfer-proof😓

I can't believe how the color and texture are just about identical - fascinating! I have also purchased Shot Caller in the Maybelline which I LOVE so this will be just a little different. Personally, since covid, I have been loving those formulas just around the house, they are a great way to moisturize your lips while giving them a little bit of colour also

I tried both of them and in my opinion no lipsticks are as good and lasting as the Maybelline ones.

I've tried them both. I love them both.
Actually because of you the Sephora Always Red is still my all time favorite red liquid lipstick!! I tried several other brands but imo nothing can achieve the same velvety look that the Sephora one gives!!
These are my favorite two formulas as well. The only problem I have is when they start to rub off a bit on my inner lips, it’s impossible to fix. If I add a second layer it all gets crumbly and flakes off. The only way is to remove and reapply. I eat a lot of soups and salads and it dissolves the lipstick in the middle. I have no solution.
It happens the same to me, so I always carry a cream lipstick with similar shade to the matte ink for touch ups and works great for me
Same problem here … I’m experimenting with a lip stain that sticks to the inner lips. I have to reapply that though.

Emily - does the Dancer shade dry down a little darker? you said it's a bit lighter and warmer than Always Red, but I think Dancer dried down a little darker and appears to have the same depth as Always Red in the video!

Emily could you please review thrill seeker from Maybelline? I literally only kept the Maybelline ones because i loveeeee the staying power and the "glossy effect" they have ❤️. There is actually a remover for the superstay matte ink. It’s called the Superstay Eraser Lip Color Remover. It works great. I bet it’s good for other liquid lipsticks as well. Great comparison by the way. 😊
I love the Maybelline ones! I was out of makeup remover once, didn't think of it...and let my 7yo do my makeup with a darker purple shade of that. I had to let it wear off over like 3 days lol
to me they are both the same and very pretty
I bought a red shade of the Maybelline for a long outdoor wedding but somehow I can’t make it work. With thin amount it comes up uneven, thicker amount feels sticky and heavy. When I tried to fix the outline it doesn’t come off the way normal liquid lipstick does but more like literal ink.
I still like the Maybelline line though, just not this one. Maybe I will try the Sephora next time.

I recommend Always Red to my stepmom to wear on her honeymoon with my dad bc she wanted a Mac Retro Matte liquid that a makeup artist used on her wedding day but the Mac counter was closed and we could only find a Sephora. I was shocked to hear she didn't like the color. ☹️ She liked the formula but said Always Red wasn't the right shade. I think her wedding day red was Feels So Grand by Mac.
Ruby woo is cult favourite mac among retro Matt it's absolutely gorgeous red probably the best red ever..u shoul suggest her to buy one ruby woo you can buy it online also

I get along with the sephora ones way better. The Maybelline ones stay sticky on my lips no matter how much time has passed and I always use a tiny amount because my lips are on the small side. Still...
Here, the sephora ones I think are a couple of euros cheaper too.
And I also didn't get along with the scent of the Maybellines. And I was sooo excited to try them back when they came out.☹ I have already decluttered them.
Have you tried their lip pencils? They last a similar amount of time and no stickiness!

Interesting... I will go pick up Dancer for starter because I’ve been looking for a dupe that won’t move when wearing masks, which the Sephora DID TRANSFER on me. I don’t know why it didn’t move at all thru drinks and food. And I fear for the worst on the Maybeline I don’t know why or how but IT DOES NOT MOVE at all, lasts me thru a full bowl of pho noodles. Just saying if they have that kinda of lasting power thru oils, why isn’t anyone else doing it?
How do each smell? That’s the tie breaker in my book. Frustrated finding a new lip product only to be turned off by the scent it gives off - perfume, powder, plastic etc…

The superstay has a special remover just for that maybelline.
I love Maybelline ink SUPERSTAY love how they aren’t too drying especially when u first apply them. Later on they get a bit dry but at least they last longer then most liquid n look less drying then then them too

You have to put the minimal amount of lipstick in your lips, it works!
A makeup remover balm gets it off in one swipe. Put it on, leave it for 10 secs and just swipe it off. No need to rub our delicate lips ever. 🤫
I tend to use cleansing balm or oil to remove my makeup but during lip swatches (or to show in these videos!) garnier works well :)

I always use coconut oil to remove any makeup, then I normally wash my face. This way my skin is never dry or irritated - any makeup remover irritates my skin, I tested many.
I waited for this video :) I love all red lipstick tests and I was always curious about comparison of these two :)
I'd love to see tests of L'Oreal Color Riche Matte lipstick (I have Paris Cherry, beautiful rich red and long lasting) and Douglas' Mattissim mat lipstick (I have number 5, Libertine Smile, strong red that lasts whole day), because I'd love to have some comparison in the test. It's easier to decide whether I want to give a lipstick a try when I don't know what they are like next to the ones I know and love. And for some reason those two, L'Oreal Color Riche and Douglas' Mattissim, don't really have many thorough reviews like yours. So I would love if you made tests of them both or any of them in the future :) ❤

Im really still confused between red maybelline pioneer and red maybelline heorine 🤦🏻♀️ what can i choose
Pioneer is a blue-based red. Heroine is more orange toned. I have a pink undertone, so I prefer Pioneer. I hope that helps.

Both lipsticks are not effective enough. If you drink a tea 4 times a day, it's not waterproof lipsticks!
