I remember using construction paper and stickers to create a circular shield for Cap. I used four layers of circular pieces with a white star sticker. I added rubber band pieces with staples. Not bad, but wasn't the right size. So, I made a triangular once and turned it sideways and it rocked. I even made a charging chamber for Iron Man out of yellow and red Legos. Cap was pure paint and hard to preserve. You had to put him in action crouching poses so he would not fall over on your shelf. A white sticker star on the front and back worked to repair the stars. The real cool part was when my mom took some sticky stips of some material and recolored them red to repair the stripes. Genius.
