My theory on why ranbir loves hi father this much. Let's take an example. We haven't see God right? But to protect our god we can fight from anyone to protect our beliefs. Same is the case with Ranbir. He has never like had a single day spent with his father hence for him he made his father like a god entity to whom he has to reach, of whom he wants attention and above all love. Like how we complain to God he also does to his father. But when something comes which want to kill his father it's like snatching his god entity breaking his beliefs he becomes an animal who can destroy anyone to save him
