- THEY HAVE ARRIVED... The New Fighting Fantasy gamebooks form authors Steve Jackson and Ian Livingston were released on 1st of September.
Here are my initial thoughts and observations on the latest releases by Scholastic.

New fighting fantasy books!!! You beauty!!! I almost have all the original books. Except for 6 of them. I started reading them again lately. I've been drawing maps of the the whole game book as I read them. I have finished 7 maps so far. I have to get these two new books.

i wish they would produce more sci fi gamebooks. i always love those.
this books made part of my childhood, I've spent months trying to find them to buy, until I found on amazon, for sure one of the best buys I've done in a while
These have been getting really good reviews (and most of the new books from the last few years definitely didn't). Seems like Ian and Steve listened to criticism about poor gameplay, put in their best efforts AND got the art department to improve its game as well. Brilliant result for the 40th anniversary.

I’m loving it. Have died twice so far but I can’t wait for my next excursion into Salamonis. Listening to ambient tracks on YT as I play for some atmosphere. Nostalgia fuel for sure !

Great video, I just ordered my copies of these - the art seems much improved and giving vibes of the classics!
As a side point if you are an avid gamebook collector not sure if you have seen that they have started to release the Lone Wolf books in collectors edition hardbacks, I have the first three and they are stunning, might be worth a look! =)
