      @@nickstevensmartialarts8914 Yeah it's a great show, what martial art do you train?
      I train ITF Taekwondo and we don't do many low kicks really apart from light sparring or bag work so it's cool to see these sorts of kicks.

      I do MMA but I mostly identify as someone who does kickboxing. I love to study Taekwondo, Muay Thai, and boxing and picking up techniques and strategies from them and other styles. This spinning sweep kick is actually something I taught myself after seeing it as a kid. I honestly don’t know the origins of the technique but if you find out let me know! Lol.
      Personally I think this sweep kick is more flashy and a bit too risky for an actual match. Can it be pulled off in a real match or fight? Maybe, I think in the right situations and it could potentially catch the opponent off guard as they may not expect someone to drop so low, and this sweep kick would best be used against an opponent who is using a lot of high head kicks! however it does require perfect timing and you’d be dropping your head and torso through a target zone.
      So most likely if you are fighting someone with lighting fast body kicks this sweep would be too risky and it would be nearly impossible to determine if the opponent was gonna throw a low kick or a high kick. If they they throw a low kick and your reaction is to drop your body and head down it could spell bad news for you lol.
      Those are just my thoughts about it. It does look quite cool though lol. Thanks for watching!

    I love the fact it's done on grass, it's easier to spin on a hall floor or mats but less practical that you'd have that surface in reality.

      I like the fact he did it on grass as it's harder than doing it on a mat.

    Hey man it's good to see you still doing this and your dad I remember when he come out to the garage and talk to us about fighting he's still bad as also I've been working on setting up a box class on this ship teach people to fight surprisingly enough most people on the boat gloves just not using it so I've been having fun training them

      Hey thanks! My dad and I appreciate the compliment. It’s good to hear from you. I remember that too lol It’s crazy how time flies. Starting a little boxing class on the ship is a great idea! It’s a great skill to have. How many people are interested so far? Are you teaching them starting with the basic? Or are they a more intermediate level? It’s surprising how many people don’t know the basic mechanics of punching. I’m sure that the people you’re teaching will very in skill level. Some people will have more skill and learn faster than others. Sounds like a lot fun though. It will also give you a chance to practice again and to sharpen your boxing skills.

      Oh yeah it has I'm starting to feel my reflexes coming back but most need to learn the basics so I start there then I get them doing a few combos working the gloves with me and they like that keeps them coming back I just been showing a few people I work with how and other people see us and Join so I'm talk to people about making it into a real class I missed boxing so much

      Well that sounds great. That’s a good system. Keep it up. It would be awesome if you can make it an official class. There’s something satisfying about teaching others how to box or do martial arts. If anyone could coach boxing, it would be you man. I hope you had a great 4th of July. It’s good to hear from you again. I appreciate you stopping my by my channel to say hello. Unfortunately I’ve got to go right now but feel free to contact me on here or on Facebook the next time you get the chance.

      Thank you very much! I really appreciate the support! I will keep it up. Surprisingly enough, most of those views came from my mediocre reaction video’s LOL. Reaction videos have a larger audience than martial arts tutorials so ironically more people would rather watch me sit on my ass and watch martial arts opposed to actually teaching martial arts LOL. But I’ll keep making martial arts tutorials because that’s what I made this channel for. I was thinking about just making a separate reaction channel. What sucks is that I don’t have as much time to make videos anymore because I’m at work and when I get home from work I’m usually to busy or to tired to make videos these days.

      I've seen people talking about having a higher momentum in order to get up and force the rest of the spin, but it feels like my knee is gonna pop. Got any tips?

    Is this sweep useful in Kickboxing ?

    • @nickstevensmartialarts8914
      @nickstevensmartialarts8914  3 роки тому +1

      This move looks cool but Its very risky. You could get kicked in the head. There are other ways to sweep your opponent that arent so risky. Muay Thai has some really effective sweep kicks. This low spin sweep could potentially work in the right situation and catch your opponent off guard but ive never seen it used in a match. Use at your own risk. And you better be fast. The fact of the matter is when it comes ro reaction time and speed it is unlikely that you would be able to react with this move in time. However, I dont think its impossible.

    Just asking mate, why u always wear a jeans or sometimes a Banana Republic shirt for your tutorial 😆? Isnt that not comfy for your movement? Or u do that on purpose to show this moves can be executed in real situation where people might be in their super skinny jeans?

    • @nickstevensmartialarts8914
      @nickstevensmartialarts8914  6 років тому +2

      Dion Putra 😆 LOL Precisely. I want to show that these moves can be done in every day average clothing in the event that you have to use them in public. I’m glad you picked up on that man because no one has asked that before. Although the jeans I’m wearing are actually a cotton- poly blend so they are very flexible. I want my tutorials to feel less formal than a traditional martial arts class. Thanks again for watching! I appreciate the comment.

He’s actually a 3rd degree brown belt in Goju ryu karate and he use to take kick boxing but he’s been having some back problems. I thought he did really well considering that and the fact that he wasnt really warmed up. Lol I didn’t know my dad could still kick that high. He almost took my head off with those hook kicks LOL.
