I really like the Surge for outdoor tasks and chores, Leatherman is the best multitool manufacturer. God bless Tim Leatherman and everyone in the company!
I’m a tradesman and use my surge everyday. It’s by far the most capable multi tool I’ve ever used. By far my favorite ever. Signal is my second favorite. I just love that tool. Edit: Leatherman, please give us a premium surge, like you did with the Charge TTI
The surge Leatherman is a great tool. My suggestion to improve the product’s versatility to the ultimate level, concerns the nylon carrying pouch. A pouch with 3 sections to carry the surge, the screw bits and the saw blades and a flashlight loop at the side, would make it convenient to configure the surge to match the different usage environments, at the environment, rather than at home where a preplanning of environment preempts the configuration. With all possible tools in one place, the belt pouch, the flexibility of configuring tool for “all” conceivable environments, mitigates against a vitally needed alternative bit left at home or lost or misplaced. In essence, one modification to the pouch by way of one extra larger compartments, amplifies the usefulness and preparedness for any combination of environment changes likely to be met. So example, if the Surge is already configured with a Phillips head screwdriver, and the need arises (Murphy’s law) for a Torx bit, the Torx bit in the carrying pouch can, on the spot, replace the Phillip head screwdriver.
Just got mine in the mail three days ago and I can't seem to put it down. Here's to many great years of enjoyment using one of the best multi-tools I've ever seen!
The Surge is the only Leatherman I've owned. Stayed away from them for years because they hadn't rounded the edges of the tool, and I found that to be very painful to use whenever I borrowed one. Used Gerber tools for just that reason (and lighter weight) nearly the entire time I was an EMT. Discovered the Surge several years ago and have used it as my EDC most of the time since. Love the interchangeable bits and saw/file blades.
Hope i can earn it 😅. The premium version of Wave+ (Charge TTi) which is smaller than Surge is fancy. I cant imagine the price of the Premium version of Surge, which is bigger than Charge TTi 😅
I'm a product designer and I have a Surge in my pocket and using it everyday for 10 years now. I used to say that it's my third hand... Not mentioned on the video but is also possible to attach a pocket clip.
You can also put tstyle jigsaw blades in the blade exchanger. They're a little loose but work perfectly fine. Used it plenty of times to cut small pipes with!
I have the surge, love it, the tshank saw s great as you can swop out with bosch jigsaw blades which is really usefull, very glad i didnt get the wave or signal...
I’m very surprised that the carrying case doesn’t have slots for extra tool blades. Part of the brag of this multitool is the capacity to swap out parts. I think it’s an oversight not to have somewhere to carry extra blades, at least one.
Is the surge made outside of the USA? I see that the free p2 has a USA stamp and the surge doesn't. I'd prefer the tools on the surge but will buy the p2 instead if it is manufactured here.
anyone know what kind of hex screwdriver i need for the screws that hold the knife and pliers cause the one holding the knife moves with the knife when opening and closing and i just got it 3 days ago don't know if thats normal, its both sides and only when i open and close the knife not when i open and close the saw
Its a robust n tank built tool, mate. But maybe for the next Surge, u can make a tougher scale. Coz mine is easy 2 get scratched, coz its shiny n smooth surface. Same problem happening 2 my Charge TTi. Its titanium scale scratched easily, mybe both Charge TTi n Surge outest scales can be make more matte or somekind scratch resistant material. Not like recent scale, the outest scale is the most shiny n smooth surface. Which is easy 2 get scratched. Thats just my thoughts 😁
The Surge has a bit driver which allows you to select a variety of bits which many folks find useful. The FREE P4 is designed with a magnetic architecture so you can open it with one hand.
Luv thr Surge. I have owned the SOG Paratool for 30 years, and it is just poorly designed and mediocre execution compared to the Surge. Just got a SOG PowerAccess Deluxe and give SOG another chance. It's much better but still falls short compared to the Surge in design, quality control, engineering, and production. The Surge goes with me on road trips in my backpack along with my Wenger medium Swiss army knife. It goes in my bug out bag when I prepare for a short jaunt in my SHTF bug out bag with my tomahawk, Slysteel Combat and Survival Knife, bottles of water, flashlight, energy bars, and assorted other gear. Only thing I wish the Surge would have is a dedicated small eye class screwdriver tool instead of duplicating screwdrivers' heads that can be found in the bit kit set.
Im going to be getting one of these, but YOU GUYS DONT SELL THE BIT KITS THAT COMPLIMENT THIS SURGE SO WELL!!! Its like im going to be getting half the product. BRING BACK THESE BIT KITS! THEY WILL SELL! IF YOU BUILD IT THEY WILL COME AND BUY IT!
the company is solid machines, a guarantee of 25 is just a fiction that costs nothing. I bought a surge for myself and could not repair it under warranty, since I bought it in another country, the distributors refuse to repair me, they say, "where you bought it and go there." I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND LEATHERMAN COMPANY TO ANYONE THIS IS A TOTAL SCAM, I AM DISAPPOINTED IN SURGE

Surge is my everyday tool as a locksmith, this tool has gotten me out of trouble many times.
Hey, I'm a locksmith too and must agree
I'm a burglar and I must agree as well :P
Im a locksmith and getting one delivered Tuesday. Thank you for the comment!

Leatherman ONLY TOOL what you ever need. BUY SURGE! GO! BUY!
I love my surge
it just works for everything from big to small it does it all
it’s with me every day and has never let me down .

Just got my Surge today, it’s the best Leatherman I’ve ever owned.
Love my Surges. EDC, truck, bug bag, fishing and one as backup
I’ve had a Wingman for several years and just got my new Surge! It’s pretty awesome!
Please do a premium version for the surge, like you did with the charge. Thanks
I'll buy the 4th Surge then :P
I would absolutely love that.
Hope i can earn it 😅. The premium version of Wave+ (Charge TTi) which is smaller than Surge is fancy. I cant imagine the price of the Premium version of Surge, which is bigger than Charge TTi 😅
I still have my Surge from 2014 ( bought in Ukraine), using it almost every day, still like new except nylon pouch. I absolutely love it.
Do more of the free series! Preferably with better blade steel and other colors!
Surge is king 👑

You can attach a pocket clip same as on the wave
@@leathermantools_fan832 yes, is the one I have attached.
You can also put tstyle jigsaw blades in the blade exchanger. They're a little loose but work perfectly fine. Used it plenty of times to cut small pipes with!
Good job Leatherman!

Love the surge
I was deciding on whether to buy the Swiss champ Swiss army knife or this leather man. And I chose to get the surge. Glad I did.
Waiting for the Surge Ti !
Just purchased one today. Fantastic piece of kit!
I wanted to engrave a black-oxide one during the customization sale, but they were sold out the whole time.
Just picked one up today.
Question though. Why no spring back option on the pliers like on the Wingman? Seems like that should be standard.
Waiting for the leatherman Arc.
Leatherman, thank you for keeping reasonable prices, unlike an unnamed knife company also in Portland.
Qualidade leatherman sempre perfeito várias funções Love leatherman.
Surge, Charge, Skeletool, Micra and E4. I keep those thangs on me.
I had a wave and the plier tips are so weak if u try to bend something side to side is the surge the same or it won’t pry apart the tip
Is the Leatherman Surge the largest, heaviest multi-tool Leatherman makes ?
I’m very surprised that the carrying case doesn’t have slots for extra tool blades.
Part of the brag of this multitool is the capacity to swap out parts. I think it’s an oversight not to have somewhere to carry extra blades, at least one.
How hard was it to simply add a spring for the grips one of the many gripes
snapped my file blade off trying to slide the gate open. machining was to tight and seems the unit was not buffed out the edges where they hang up
Is this your largest, heaviest multi-tool ?

I wished I knew about the warranty, I just purchased a new set of wire cutter blades for my super tool 300.

is it possible to have a new one for free? i lost my surge on a busy day hehe
Lmao no.
Surge or Free P4? Home user who loves camping. Already have a Signal. Would value any advice.

@@LeathermanToolGroup hmmm might need to get both. 🤣😂🤣
I use rebar and micra. After watching the video I want to buy and surge.
Wish mine didn’t rattle. Quality control needs to be tightened up.

Can you make a flat nose pliers please!
Great product, but please, the music....

We should have the bit kits back in stock soon! Stay tuned...
IM WAITING FOR THE SURGE PLUS… UPGRADE KNIFE TO CHARGE + STEEL, AND ADD GUT HOOK TO SERRATED KNIFE… IN THE APPROPRIATE SURGE LENGTH… 👍
Get rid of the damn sound effects in the background. I can barely understand the narrator.

the background music is so distracting.
