I think a lot of the Evan Solomon bashers should keep in mind that its near impossible that an American version of Evan Solomon could have ever made it to a position to ask these sorts of questions (which hordes and hordes of self proclaimed american "liberals" totally agree are valid questions). Therefore we should be grateful that the Canadian representative of this class of people - the establishment "left" (or Canadian "centrist") - got crushed in their place. It's an important interview to have taken place at that time, and Solomon did his part to make it happen. A lot of political journalists would just never have had Chomsky on, end of story. Especially the ones that have made their way to the top of American political media.

What I find impressive about Chomsky is how much information he has stored about US foreign policy and world affairs. You better know your stances if you are going to get in a argument with him because he knows way more than pretty much anyone else.

Chomsky visibly shaking at points. It's because of the subject matter plus the approach of Solomon. Solomon has entered this like it were a discussion with reasonable disagreements. Chomsky on the other hand takes the discussion of the loss of life, or millions of lives, very seriously. That's why Chomsky projected his thoughts as he had in this video.

, regardless of his intentions which might be biased

globuspallidos Bullshit, Solomon is a morally deficient halfwit. It should be patently obvious to anyone with a working moral compass that he's just a mindless parrot.

I don't think "they" are supporting democracy in Egypt, afterall they haven't done so for hundreds of years so why would they now?
I've heard Chomsky say "they" support dictators until it's impossible and then they try to maintain the old structure witth a different face. I remember Obama saying Mubarak was a friend of the US.

I'm Scottish, I don't watch US TV but I do watch Noam Chomsky. I've never seen him so pissed at the stupidity from across the table. This guy Solomon WANTS to believe what someone elsewhere has said, thus proving much of Chomsky's own arguments. People like Solomon are the mouthpieces who push and push and then push so much that they don't even realise that Noam left half an hour ago and he is pushing against himself...

is there footage of Chomsky saying that? I'd like to see it.
or print....and consider this, he's old, done with front line. He's dissappointed me too on 9-11 and i read his book. he made great points, but in the end tows a safe line. what he brings to more people are truths that very few others can articulate so well and with such intellectual superiority about that subject, a life long committment.....i wonder what he's saying, if at all, about achitects and engineers for 9-11

Eviscerated, but I find it sad he has to keep re-educating every interviewer with the same elementary historical facts. If they had done any research at all, why would half of these questions have even been asked? I
