I love how you did the bricks, so amazing! Another beautiful cake, as usual. Oh! A question-so when I took my Wilton classes years ago, the instructor had us purchase gum paste and fondant. Then we took about half fondant - half gum paste and mixed them together. She said the gum paste helped the fondant set up faster and harder. Also, we took a little gum paste and tore it up in a little bowl then added a little water and stirred it until the gum paste dissolved. Then we used this as our glue. Of course this was years ago and definitely a lot of new supplies out, which is great. Just wondered if they taught that in the class you took and do they even make gum paste anymore? Also, I love the rope, it looks so pretty!
Thank you love! Yes, they did teach us to make "gum glue" by dissolving the gum paste in water. I don't find that necessary because I use piping gel or water. And adding gum paste to fondant is akin to adding the tylose. However, I know gum paste dries really fast, so I'm not sure if that affects the fondant. When adding tylose, I don't have to work super fast with it, it doesn't dry out or crack quickly like gum paste.
Hey, i just wanna let you that i made the hat. It was my first time doing anything like this. And i did good. Wish i can show you a picture. But, Thanks your videos really do help people.
When you've made your "logos" and put them in the plastic bag, how long can they stay like that and still be pliable? I'm wondering if I can make some a day or two in advance before putting it on the cake?
@@KarolynsKakes Oh wow, i am so sorry. Not only did you say the price you said how many ppl I'm gonna need to feed as well 🤦🏽♀️. I was binge watching your videos right before bed and must of been really sleepy and missed it.😂 Thanks.
So I ended up using wilton fondant that I had and it was terrible. The decoration literally never turn hard even after adding a lot of tylose powder. And now I get when you say what you say lol. I said it in another video but satin ice never gives me problems and gets hard. It must be wilton that you talk about notoriously soft!! Wilton isn't good for decorations and isn't good for covering cake. One time I tried and it literally just ripped apart everywhere. I've only had problems when I grab wilton brand
Also , how do you not get colors on your hands ?! Especially after airbrushing. Those stain my hands if I get it on them . And it never fails that I get gel coloring on my hands. No matter how much I try not to, it gets on my hands 😂😂😂 it'll just be randomly on side of the bottles .
Good to know about the Wilton, so thank you for sharing this! Also, I always clean my bottles after I use them to keep the coloring off. I've found that Dawn dish detergent is the only soap that will completely clean the coloring off my hands!
I thought food couldn’t be copyrighted. One famous cake maker with millions of views has a Disney cake tutorial 🤷♀️ That said I’m happy I’m not in the USA as I love to worry about everything
It depends, some companies don't care and some do. Cocomelon has reposted my cakes and loved them. While others like Disney or Chanel aren't okay with it. You're taking a risk if you're selling them for profit.

Thank you Lisa, I promise it gets easier the more you do it! 😊
I love the cut and trace method, watching it is very therapeutic, the end result is the cherry on the top ❤
Thank you so much! Sometimes I feel like I keep repeating myself, but it's good to know that it's helping 🙏

I would say up to 3 or 4 days. I frequently make them a day or two in advance and leave them in the bag until I'm ready to decorate the cake!
i tried to cut the letters the way you do it and i end up doing something else lol! i will keep practicing
The fondant must be the correct consistency or it will be dragging all over the place!
Do you have a tutorial on how to make black fondant?

Hey, I'm doing this exact theme soon. And was wondering what did you charge for this?. The cake I'm making will feed 45 people.
I can't remember exactly, I do say how much at the end of the video!

Is there ever a copyright problem with you using and copying the logos and other decorations that you put onto the cake?
I have the same question…
I thought food couldn’t be copyrighted. One famous cake maker with millions of views has a Disney cake tutorial 🤷♀️ That said I’m happy I’m not in the USA as I love to worry about everything
Food really can’t, it’s reproducing the logos/images and making a profit off it. People do it all the time though.
It depends, some companies don't care and some do. Cocomelon has reposted my cakes and loved them. While others like Disney or Chanel aren't okay with it. You're taking a risk if you're selling them for profit.
