The most exciting part is that Wemby is still clearly a very raw prospect who makes a ton of mistakes. Imagine how good he'll be once he irons out all the rough edges and his conditioning is NBA-level.
This kid has not, and I repeat, NOT played a full season, and yet you are able to make a compilation this long of this amazing plays so far. this kid is SPECIAL.
I still like watching Chef Curry because he still is cooking at 35, I still like watching Lebron, Ja Morant is raw, Damien Lillard hard, Wemby is entertaining asf and once he is polished he will be unstoppable and it's crazy because it's only his first year lol... but in football Purdy is already making history all the way across the board and so is McCaffrey
My man isn't just tall, he has talent! Well done! I enjoy the unusual and creative passing, as well as some very respectable 3-point skills. All good wishes, Victor!
A giant who can play like a point guard everyday is something never heard of. Without injurious and a little muscle this guy will dominate the NBA like we have never, ever, seen.
I think we were supposed to notice that hardly any of those buckets were dunks. The clip was about 1/2-way through for the first dunk, and even that one mainly featured the side-step on the way to the hoop. His passing has REALLY improved since arriving in the NBA; perhaps just from getting to know his teammates better.
Look how frequently the spurs have the lead in this reel, and against great teams too. It shows the spurs are far better than an 8 win team. His minutes rescriction has hindered us a little and we had trouble closing out games at the beginning of the season, but the spurs are definitely better than they seem on paper.
One play that is a microcosm of victors season is when he gets the steal goes behind the back to avoid lillard, and throws it down on Lopez. Agile and nifty enough to keep the ball away from a pg, and big enough to smash it on one of the best shot blockers in the game. Truly unreal
7' 3 1/2" barefoot... with an 8' wingspan and the mobility of a guard. Most of all he played soccer as a goalkeeper when he was youger so he reads the ball curse very well and both arms are extremely fast. Add years of judo for balance and learning to fall... then his mother is a BB coach : everything he did in his short life was done to be there. He loves BB and is focus.
In Sidney USA won by 10, last time in Tokyo USA won by 5. Next time it will be in Paris and they will have HIM... Thanks God Team USA will be overstacked.
Maybe its me, iam seeing very few mistakes in his game, that is exactly how the game should be played. The spurs need a lot of high quality players to come up in the west. His own point guard even as good as he is.
You can make mixtape for each stats categories with his dunks, pass, blocks, steals.... perhaps even drives in only 4 NBA month... It's crazy... never seen... Don't speak me about Chet in the race for ROTY now please😅
Even his mentality, maturity and ability to handle the pressure, it’s very similar to Lebron, Kobe or KD, he’s just a student of the game because he really love Basketball he didn’t start playing it because he was tall and everybody told him you should play bball, he started because he is passionate about it unlike guys like Bol Bol, Tacko Fall or Mo Bamba ect, and he is well surrounded just like Lebron who had a good girlfriend and a kid at 18, so basically his own family and nothing motivate a man harder than doing everything to take care of his family, and of course his mom probably played a big role, same for his friends like Rich Paul or Maverick Carter, and Kobe’s dad was an NBA player, and he grew up in Italy so he had a more global understanding of the world, and same for Curry or Klay, having good people around you is very important, and the kid is just humble so he really has every traits of the greats.
Let’s be honest he sucks as a point guard and not a nba material as a point guard. He’s only good as a point guard compared to most 7 footers in that position maybe (probably) but definitely not if you compare him to nba point guards. So yeah he can make plays as a point guard here and there, but as a regular point guard in the nba? Not even close!
@@Ometecuhtli sochan is a good player despite what media wants you to believe. Just because pop put a 20 year old second year player at the hardest position on the court which he’s never played before in order to continue developing his playmaking skills doesn’t mean he’s bad. And if we didn’t have Wemby, sure, get sarr, but I’ll take risacher.
Really, By All Means put him at point guard then, because it's clear the Spurs have nothing working for them at 7-33. Pop should just have Wemby play pg the rest of the season and see where that goes.

This frustrates me. Wembanyama is great because he is 7'4" plus and has an insane wing span. He has great skills "FOR A MAN THAT TALL", but he does not have point guard skills, or anything close. He is great because he is huge and has some good athleticism. Quit comparing him to a point guard. Compare him to Manut Bol or Shawn Bradley, but don't compare his skills to player skills that are out of his league He's huge, but his shooting percentage is horrible even given he gets a ton of dunks he gets gets due to his size. Size wins in the NBA so he has an immediate advantage over everyone in the NBA. Would you want his skillset on your team if he were under 7'?
He ain’t Haliburton, but his point guard skills seem comparable to the Spurs’ point guards. His turnover rate is decreasing, his shot efficiency is going up. If he was 30 years old with 10 years in the NBA, you’d still have a point. But he isn’t. Plus, have a close look at what the title says. That’s true for sure.
I agree regarding Halibuton, but I still don't think his handles, shooting, or dishing compare to Spurs guards even though their guards are weak by NBA standards. Wemby's upside is not disputed, but he is not yet he second coming of Chamberlain, Jordan, Bird, Antetokounmpo, or Jokic that has been spouted in the media universe. I guess I just want some realism here, not click bait, but maybe I'm asking too much. For now, he's just an freakishly tall and long dude on the second worst team on the NBA, yet he hasn't been able to lift them above the bottom dwellers, even with the best coach in the NBA. That's a fun compilation, but lately he's been playing like a center, as he should. He's been getting only one assist per game lately, with more turnovers than assists. He's actually nothing like a point guard, despite these clips.
@@TheBallsbreakers But now he's playing center and so you can kiss the assists goodbye. Point being, he's not remotely like a point guard. He has a quite bad assists-to-turnover ratio.
