An Aussie sitcom that turned out to be quite controversial for a similar reason why the Cosby Show is now considered controversial, was a show called Hey Dad! It presented as wholesome family viewing while the actor who played the father was a creepy predator on set in real life.
Hang Time. American show that ran for six seasons from 1995 - 2000. And was about seven high school students who are all on the basketball team trying to get through everyday high school life. Will they be....saved by the bell? One of quite a few clones of such, which channel four seemed to always put around 10,30am on a sunday morning. Frankly they all blur into one.
Hang Time, USA High, California Dreams, Malibu CA, Saved by the Bell etc were all made by Peter Engel. His writing team were so lazy that they would just recycle plots and hope that nobody noticed.
The only one of these I was familiar with is Homeboys in Outer Space. I only saw one episode of it years ago, and I considered it one of those “so bad it’s good” shows. I’ll have to re-watch it to see if it was just plain “bad”.
Frontline seemed to be the Australian ripoff of Drop the Dead Donkey. Canada had one of these also, which is long forgotten. To be fair, it was a CBC comedy, and most of those are deservingly forgotten.
I appreciate the addition of "Around the World" in the title. Very welcome. Hopefully this will help appease viewers of this channel who passionately defend their favourite imported shows. Much as I thoroughly enjoy learning about unfunny comedies, I am genuinely disappointed by the anger on display from my fellow Brits, who seem to think that everyone watched the same cr@p as them. I can assure you all, that the shows mentioned herein, are not forgotten. They are completely unknown to me.

Thanks tor exposing me to the series "all together now" i watched all four seasons in three days and wanted more
I enjoyed it as a youngster growing up in Aussieland, fun characters, memorable catch phrases, and a unique premise.

Radio Active was great fun.

Why is Scotty from Star Trek in the preview image, there was no Scotty sitcom but if there had been I would've watched it
did you not see his cameo in the last show?
My comment vanished (I hate when that happens!) Scotty was in the clip they showed from Homeboys in Outer Space
