  • Did I like these watercolors? Not really. Find out why in my snobby art review.
I love to try new supplies, and rarely do I ever give a bad art supply review. But these? Probably some of the worst I've ever tried.

Iv tried these but I got a different set up same company.. I’m just a beginner but I can’t afford many art supplies and my mom let me buy a more expensive art supply and I chose this because I’m always walking in the woods painting. 😰 I feel like I don’t know what good supplies are now..

@@breannaclark4070 This is going to be a long comment, warning in advance😅.
I used to feel the same way. I bought an art supply, then I saw a video reviewing it and/or comparing, and I noticed the quality wasn't as good as I thought 😕 It's definitely a bit frustrating especially as a beginner artist, especially when you don't do enough research before hand but after😅 With watercolors you always want them to be transperant, vibrant, a smooth and water like consistency, and to layer well! I suggest vibrant watercolor, because even if you prefer more earthy tones, you can always mix those colors, you can never make paints more vibrant😉 Always swatch each color, In case there's a difference in consistency (like for Mira with that black, I was shocked at the consistency of it 14:41). I would also suggest doing other tests like wet on wet, layering, diluting with a lot water, mixing with other colors, and gradients. Depending on wether you get pan, tub or ink paints, your results will definitely vary. Like pans are almost always less vibrant than tube paints, while inks are usu the most vibrant. I think inks also dry faster than the others which can be frustrating if you like to blend, use wet in wet technique, or if just you work slow🤷. For beginners I suggest tubes or pans. I personally love tubes, but if you don't have a lot of space for them, or you prefer a smaller and compact pallet then get pans. I would suggest the Van Gogh sets, there very vibrant, awesome quality for the price (perhaps better), and they work beautifully💜 Definitely do your own research of course, watch videos on the different types of watercolor, on brands, reviews on Amazon and UA-cam. And when you narrow down your list, look at swatches of them, and compare (like pause on the video in different tabs for example). Good luck on your art journey🙏💜

Haha girl looks like you got one of the knockoffs. On Amazon they are like 15 bucks there are 3 sets which include sponges and a larger palette below the bottom fan. The aqua brushes are "it is what it is" . I did a light fast test when they first came out and woo boy good stuff. Zero fade. They are more like Gansi tambi in that they behave less like western layerable colors and more like eastern style. You seem to prefer pastels and probably should get the pastel set.

I have these, they are indeed awkward & hard to work with. Frugalcrafter have high reviews of this watercolor, I only got it for $15. Solution: I removed the palettes by removing the screw, then I attached the palettes in a black clipboard horizontally per row in order with a glue gun. Also, I suggest spraying water first to reactivate it. Hope it helps! =)

I must say this video is the most negative I have ever seen you do! I received these paints as a stocking stuffer, you need to let the paint dry before you close them up! I place them at The same level as your permatek candy colors or tropical colors paints. Student or hobby level paint. It is a little gimmicky but what is it that people have to fit everything in a pocket? I find your use of Arteza products understandable as they are very inexpensive and easily available, but not always the highest quality, if you cannot get pigment numbers or lightfastness ratings, that usually means student or hobby grade products. I do not understand why people get so upset about how often they see advertisements for Arteza products, companies use methods that work and everybody has heard of them and they make lots of sales from their advertisements. I just wish they were not so middle of the road and had more professional information about their products. Thanks again Miranda, a good video even if it wasn’t a superior product.

I got this from Amazon for $14. And I really love it. The colors are vibrant. Anytime I use these colors for a painting, people ask me which brand I used because they love how vibrant & lovely the colors looked. When I tell them it is a no-name brand that I first got for $10 (my first of this kind of set), they suddenly decide it won't be good. And yet...without fail, each time I use these I get the max number of questions about the colors :-). But yeah, closing it when it is wet is a no-no. So I just fan it out and let it dry before closing. Brushes - I use my regular brushes.

I saw the video thumbnail and was about to clutch my pearls, but then I saw this is a different brand than what I have! My set is from a company called Misulove and I love them for the bright colors and portability. They can be awkward to use so I tend to only use them for when I go journaling on the beach or at a cafe, or if I'm too lazy to get my paint tubes out. (Though if portability is the goal, you can also get little pocket palettes that are about the size of Altoid tins that you can squeeze tubed paint into. Then you can paint on the go without having to unfold a whole damn YuGiOh Duel Disk!)

You can get something pretty similar at Walmart by Royal Langnickle Essentials for $10. It has 18 colors and the brush. I actually really like it. I just don't like the brush.

Oh how disappointing 🥴 they remind of kids watercolor paints , not the best looking high quality for the price but you did a fabulous job with them 😊
I’ve always been wanting to try those kind of paints too!! I keep thinking they look so cool in their travel case but never had the time, now I’m sooo pleased I’ve not had the time 😂😂
I’ve visited that ice cream 🍦 island in the ocean only last year 😊 it was very cool
Hmmmmm I’m not actually keen on ice cream but if I do eat it, it’s going to be chocolate with chocolate chips or mint chocolate chip 😍

My favorite ice cream flavor is Breyer’s 100% Natural Vanilla Bean ! I’m not feeling those watercolors either. I just wouldn’t have purchased them because of the way they were set up (I know that’s why you did buy it.) Either way love your videos.

I love my fan palette and the brush mine came with. It is still my favorite water brush. The brand I bought was Meeden. The colors are great. You do have to let the fan dry just a few minutes so it doesn't get anywhere, it's the same with any palette that isn't leak proof before you put it away. I didn't experience some of the problems you were bothered by but it's a palette made for fun on the go, a novelty, travel palette. I take it with me to the hospital when I have to stay overnight. I also use it for when sitting in my recliner or painting a silly doodle. I know not to expect professional results but IT'S FUN
I hope your viewers can appreciate it. I bought mine on Amazon for about half the price you paid.
P.S. mocha almond fudge is my favorite ice cream.

I have this exact set and I don’t like them either 😫 I think it might be partially because I recently switched over to Daniel Smith watercolors and when I got a taste for quality I just couldn’t look back. Whenever I try to use these ones again I can’t finish the picture, they’re so chalky and full of filler it makes me sad because the concept of them is pretty awesome.

Even if it’s not the greatest, it’s still pretty cool. I found it for less then $20 recently, so been thinking of getting one. Edit: ehhhh maybe not.
Favorite ice cream : lime sherbet. I’m Kinda neutral on ice cream. But give me some citrusy sherbet and I’m in heaven

@@MiraByler My first reaction when hearing about it was...What??!! But they immediately offered a sample (plus of some of the other flavours they had) and I was sold straight away. When I tell my friends about the flavour everyone looks sceptical hahahah. So you saying that it sounds delicious is surprising to me (but a happy surprise!). Guess you're more adventurous in your ice cream flavours than my friends are (or I initially was :P)

There's a little clip looking bit up on the side where the brush sits. Push it in and it helps to secure the brush a bit more.
I bought these for a few bucks from that website that's really bad to buy things from (cheap stuff from another country-You know what I'm saying). For what I myself paid, they aren't that bad. I put them in my travel art case. I find I have to layer them a lot to get the richer pigment. I would not buy them again.
True story: When I opened them up and fanned them out, I thought the last paint was gone. It's black. It has the streaks on it, and it seems to be flatter (thinner) than the other pans so I thought it was just the plastic pan with no paint. Turns out, it was there. But I had to actually wet it to tell that it was!

CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIE DOUGH! The Ben and Jerry's brand it me favourite! I also love their Half Baked! There is a new half baked, but with peanut butter that I REALLY want to try, but I contracted a peanut allergy from someone back when I was in the hospital with TTP, through my centrifuge blood transfusions. It should be out of my system, but l can't have peanuts until I get the all clear from my allergy doctor.
That last ice cream flavour I mentioned head something to do with Jimmy Fallon.
I also love Dairy Queen's chocolate chip cookie dough blizzards.
    Other favourite flavours (in general):
    - salted caramel
    - burnt marshmallow
    - birthday cake/cake batter
    - French Mint
    - good medal ribbin

I’d probably get a rubber band or something to keep the water brush in the palette, but if it’s messy when you close it, you’re right that it wouldn’t be very portable. A cool concept, but poorly executed.
