About that Vostok... I think a lot of those aren't vintage. I've seen a history of them online, and the ones up to the 80s were actually very normal looking, then as the 80s-90s came the USSR was starting to fall apart, so there's a lot less standardisation and an apparent drop in consistancy. "Modern" vostoks - at least the famous amphibia and komandirskie offerings - seem to be a more refined and exaggerated facsimile of those late USSR models. There's one particular set of models I'm super interested in called "Jubilee Vostoks", they're meant to celebrate the 40th anniversary since the end of WW2, and they have this sick red star motif with "1945-1985" printed below it. I can't find much information on them but they're still quite cheap. You should think about picking one up for review ;)
