  • The Mobilvetta camper van range was introduced for the 2022 season. The Mobilvetta camper van range consists of three models, there is nautical design throughout but I cannot help but feel that Mobilvetta should perhaps concentrate on motorhomes!

I live in a motorhome full time and travel around Europe in it. I spend most of my time in Poland, Germany and Italy. Vanlife is my life.
In my UA-cam channel, I present reviews of recreational vehicles. Here you will find campervans and motorhomes from the cheapest camper vans to the most expensive luxury liners, from various companies including Hobby, Hymer, Carthago, Westfalia, Wingamm, La Strada, Frankia, Wavecamper, Maurer, Dreamer, Itineo, Rapido, Clever Vans, Pössl, Bürstner, Niesmann Bischoff, Action Mobil, Reisemobil Manufaktur, Robeta, Trigano, Challenger, EuraMobil, Karmann Mobil, Laika, Forster, Mobilvetta Design, Affinity, Globe Traveller, Benimar, Roller Team, Adria, Bocklet, Woelcke,Tourne, Megamobil, VW, Mercedes, CS, Renault, Ford, Fiat, Carado, Sunlight, Baileys, Chausson, Balcamp, Knaus, Weinsberg, Murvi, Bliss, Mitsubishi, Woelcke, Reisemobile Bürow, Holzmobil, Giotti Line, Florium, Fleurette, Ahorn, Westfalia, Space Camper, Orange Work, Concorde, Womondo, Protec, Auto Sleeper, Dethleffs, Ilusion, Gehocab, Malibu, Pilote, Wild Ax, Vantage, Bresler, Tom's Fahrzeugtechnik, Morelo, Swift, Carado and others.
I do this by regularly attending trade events such as CMT Stuttgart, Abenteuer und Allrad, Caravan Salon Dusseldorf, Warsaw Caravan and Camping Show and sometimes others.
I cover equipment, including 12v electrical equipment and talk a lot about lithium batteries.
I also show some of the places I have visited in Europe in my own motorhome, as well as the places you can stay at! I try to give as much coverage as I can to official campsites and free places which I use for overnighting. Therefore you can find here the aire or stellplatz that you are possibly looking for.

Let me talk about Mobilvetta quality, now after I rode first 10K on my new 4.5 ton K-Yacht. Leaving out few things that are not so well designed in my view, here are actual defects that I had:
    * Pull down bed handle broke due to overturned screw. Actually they use same handle as all Hymers and Triganos, problem was not easy to QA, handle was replaced without any problem.
    * Two loose cables in headlight and taillight chains got disconnected - tail light is replace only glued construction, so it took some time to fix
    * Alde radiator in toilet broke off the wall (probably due to extra force from kids
    * GPS antenna was disconnected (It was on Fiat)
    * Truma frost control started leaking (that's out of control of Mobilvetta too)
    * Huge kitchen drawer does not stay closed on Poland roads - this is the only major design fckup I actually found, dealership fixed it, but I doubt it is reliable by design, so I think about adding some extra lock.
So, nothing out of ordinary, and dealership was fixing everything quick and free so far. Most things are well thought through, although I made dozen of mods to better fit my needs and wants.

Some design flaws I can point our you would not probably spot without living in that camper:
      * mentioned big kitchen drawer locking - it looks beautiful, but was not really designed to stay closed.
      * trash can - in fact all trigano door trashcans are total trash as they are getting tighter at the top making it impossible to take baga out
      * no coat hooks in front area - not so important in Italy, but in nordics you want some place to hang your coat somewhere in front
      * second TV - despite having place for the TV in rear bedroom, as soon as you install it you have 2 major problems - you can not raise your bed and light switches are obstructed and very hard to reach, generally switches are not in the best positions in whole motorhome, luckily same switches (Berker Integro) are easy to order and add.
      * Alde radiator protection. Alde is great, but its radiators are really fragile and when installed in places where they can be easily damaged (e.g. in Garage) they should have some protective mesh around, Mobilvetta saves on it.
      * Generally this is 3.5t design on 4.5t chassis and only advantage that was taken from capacity gain is 90L fuel tank. I replace all these wobbly weight saving details like hooks and handles, garage floor and insulation etc..to more solid ones, but expected it to be done in factory, really.
That's all that came to my mind in the first round.

To be honest, please use more time next time you are doing a 'review'. Light is not working in the bathroom you say - when you have not turned on the panel. I happen to own a new Mobilvetta Admiral 5.1, had 10 nights in it already and have not found a single fault. All the lights are working, all hinges ok. Good quality and a lot of attention to details. The kitchen island is simply unique in camper van design. Please, if you want to do reviews - do it properly!!!

When we were away last week there was an Adria campervan which had one of those motorised beds. The owners had a series of plastic storage boxes underneath the raised bed and they removed all these and put them underneath the van so they could have the bed down. When it was time to leave the next day they raised the bed and put all the boxes back. I guess spare food, socks, whatever in the boxes. This was a quiet campsite so fine but on a busier site or using an aire/ stellplatz having to leave valuables (even if it is just a box of socks) outside so you can go to bed at night seems really risky. The idea just doesn’t work for me.

It seems a bit odd to move stuff outside - I appreciate that there may be a pile of stuff inside- but can't that just be moved around? Maybe they were moving house or something?

@@VanlifewithAlan I think it was just their camping stuff. But the same issue applies with having bikes in there - if you need to lower the bed to go to sleep without having your nose next to the ceiling you have to leave your bikes outside and pray that they are still there in the morning. So, I don’t see motorised beds in the back of campervans as having great utility. Maybe I’m just missing the point of them.
