I really love that this channel hasn't been taken over by the crazies in the comments...yet... But still its great to see actual scientific comments and conversations happening
As interesting as the channel topic is, it's niche too. Thus growth of viewers will stay rather low. Especially considering the habit of quickly showing large amounts of information, then immediately pressing on with further information, requires more than just passive viewing. Not that pausing a video would be difficult. But it makes a difference.😉
You must have picked up a lot of new viewers all of a sudden - The random complaints about "AI generated content and voice" are disrespectful, but I expect they don't know any better, since so much content on youtube IS AI content farming these days. As much as I enjoy this channel, the USGS has a much different mission than reporting on volcanic activity worldwide. I have met and worked with several scientists who work for USGS and they are some of the most intelligent and dedicated federal agency employees I know.
Well, I don't expect the USGS to cover the entire planet. Their mandate is to study geology, and monitor volcanoes within the US and US territories. Not that I'm suggesting they can't look beyond those lands in order to study the entire system.

Here’s a question for y’all… what is a possible evolutionary advantage may have led to humans …loving really big explosions? 😅
