William “Buck” Manning, came to Texas in 1863 with the Rev. William Manning, not with Neil McLennan (the pioneer and namesake of McLennan County), who came to Texas in 1835, well before.

By chance, are you related to the Manning family, are you from Mclennon County?

I live near the Pease river battle site. Got arrow heads or spear heads I found while hunting them. To me? Sul-Ross was a pos.

The Civil War consisted of nearly 10,500 battles, engagements, and other military actions including nearly 50 major battles and about 100 others that had major significance. The remainder were skirmishes, reconnaissances, naval engagements, sieges, bombardments, etc. The engagements were fought in 23 different states and resulted in a total of over 650,000 casualties. To assert that "there is no way he could have been in 135 battles, engagements/skirmishes" is just perplexing!

I've never seen a historian make so much supposition in all my life. I guess he feels it's better then saying "I DON'T KNOW" or "I AM NOT SURE"

Am I the only one wondering if the Ross men were a little too interested in little girls and boys??
