I have loved this song since I was a kid, and a few years back I convinced my parents to get me a drum kit which I'm so thankful for. Its such a shame I always feel discouraged to play anything on the drums (or even to learn a song!) because my kit just never sounds as good as any album/youtube video such as yours. I've tried to retune it many times but it never sounds good. Every so often I come back to this video, thinking maybe I'll come back to the drums with a proper tuning one day in the future.
I understand it can be frustrating to get a good sound. There are great videos on UA-cam to help with tuning. Make sure to practice because the sound comes from the drummer. Also, drums sound much different with mics and blended into the mix. You can eq and add effects to make your drums sound huge. Thank you for watching and sharing. Good luck and keep in touch!

I bought a drum kit off Craigslists in 2008. It sat in my garage for 12 years. It was a cheap CB drum kit. It didn’t really sound amazing. But I never learned how to play it. Until 2020 I found a teacher and now I’ve been practicing and taking lessons once a week for over 3 years. I’m about to start working on this song. It will go good with the 16th note high hats beats we’ve been working on lately. And I wish I would’ve started 15 years ago when I bought the kit!

Thank you! I have led track lights over the drum kit and a 150 watt tungsten lamp with a photo umbrella to soften the light in the corner. I do minimal color correction if any. That's it! Glad you like!

I picked up guitar (20 years) and left drums behind in high school (5 years). Just getting back into drums (2.5 years) and was like, let’s give this a shot…the first 16 bars aren’t bad….the next 16 bars of the 2nd verse is a pretty tough. Looking forward to seeing more of your newer ventures…Cheers!

@@SolitarySoldier Any commercially released song could be subject to copyright claim. A copyright claim and strike are two different things. A claim means the copyright holder claims the song because they own it. A strike means you have been told not to post something and you have done so anyway. A claim happens all the time and 1 of 3 things could happen. You could have your video taken down, muted, or they could allow ads (best option). The copyright holder could take down your video. This happened to me twice. I had the Crazy Train song taken down, but it was allowed to come back. I don't know how. Maybe I had enough views and they thought they could make some money from the ads. The other song was Back In Black. It was taken down and never allowed to come back. I never received a copyright strike for these, just a claim. The only other way I know around this is either to try and pitch shift the song up or down (I have never done this just heard about it) so the content ID doesn't recognize it or cover the song yourself and get a cover license. I covered The Seven Nation Army and as soon as I posted, it received a copyright claim! Anyway, hope this helps.

Great question! 18, 19, 20 xplosion crash. 18 stage crash. 14 metal and xcelerator hats. 22 metal and paragon ride, Two 19 xtreme chinas.
8 and 10 inch aax splash.
What kind of drum heads do your drums have from the top to bottom?
Toms: Remo Emporer clear on top, Ambassadors on bottom.
Snare: Emperor coated top, clear Emperor snare side.
Kick: Powerstroke 3.
