Anderson: Commander. Shepard: We did it. Anderson: Yes we did. It's quite a view. Shepard: Best seats in the house. Anderson: God... feels like years since I just, sat down Shepard: I think you earned a rest. Anderson. Stay with me we're almost through this. Anderson: You did good, son. You did good. I'm, proud of you. Shepard: Thank you Sir. ...Anderson?
One of the best scenes in the entire series, especially for male Shepard, with Anderson calling him "son". (Even more so for my main Shepard, who was Earthbound so no parents). Too bad it was followed by such crap.
Stuart Pawley I think Destroy was my second favorite ending, Control was my least, and Synthesis was, in my opinion, the best, even if it was a "out-of-nowhere" thing, and Anderson was the bro who wanted them dead, I feel like a galaxy where everyone was half robot and Reapers were helping people with everything was amazing. (Plus the Joker and EDI ship didn't seem as weird anymore) Endings could of been amazing, but it was a terrible execution to an otherwise perfect game series
Richard Cloeren Synthesis was the most offensive ending. It flew in the face of the themes of the series, Strength through Diversity and Self Determination. I do understand why you like it; it was clearly written to be the "good" ending. But if you're the type to get under the hood of stories, as I am, this pisses you off. Control was almost as bad because you just got done telling TIM that even if Control was possible, it was a bad idea. As far as the series, Mass Effect 2 was pointless. Don't get me wrong; I liked the game for it's excellent characters. However the main plot didn't advance the series at all.
Gábor Leskó Between making this comment and now, I found out that Destroy is the ending where Shepard survives. BioWare confirmed it. So I agree. So that Liara and Shepard can have those little blue children they talked about.
Gábor Leskó why not? In the Destroy ending it’s the only one where Shepard lives. Your love interest actually doesn’t put up the name on the board and has a thoughtful expression in their face, showing that they have hope Shepard survived. I think that’s supposed to show they don’t give up hope and eventually find Shepard
This series will always hold a special place in my heart. The best game series I have ever played, and I've played so many. This is one of the only games I have ever shed tears over.
pause at 2:35. the illusive man lost his indoctrination eyes and got his normal eyes, proving the reapers dropped him like a bad habit after he didn't serve his purpose. At the end there he died the man he was.
It is astonishing how five minutes of one game can demonstrate more heart, more humanity, than the entirety of some other franchises. Ultimately, the purpose of a story is to inspire and, I believe at least, to make us feel. And that is something that this game, this franchise and this video has done with a masterful touch. Whilst others can barely scratch the surface, this goes for the heart and refuses to let go. Well done.
this goes for the heart and refuses to let go. When a friend of mine once told me about Mass Effect he had manly tears in his eyes. I didn't understand at that point. "How can you be so caught up in a fucking game?" I didn't know nothing. Now I'm the one that's constantly cutting onions just thinking about it. BioWare delivered us a masterpiece, not only a masterpiece of gaming but a masterpiece of heartfelt, intense storywriting and storytelling. Every death of a friend was like a stab straight to the heart and when I reached the final credits of ME3 the whole world suddenly felt a bit emptier. It was not like just finishing another "good" game but like losing a piece of myself with Shepard. I thought about this for a long time and then it suddenly hit me like a bullet: It's a lesson about life itself. No matter how much effort you put in, no matter if you made a fortune, win a war or defeat your greatest enemy, at the end it's only about friendship and family. You do not mourne your left behind money, your left behind great sportscar or your vacant mansion, at the very end it's all about the people you leave behind. (at least this was what I figured out there^^). In my final moments as Shepard I didn't care that I have to give my life to save the galaxy but about leaving behind my crew and everything that could be achived now that the war is over and the galaxy is united. BioWare nailed it here in I way I've never expected it to happen in a game. That's something that's more likely to expect from lyrical dramas and some pretty outstanding movies.
@@R4Y2k -- Your comment made me tear up. It brought back the memories. Bioware deserves a fucking medal for this trilogy. It's the one VG series that I bawled my eyes out after losing teammates. It truly is a masterpiece.

I just finished the mass effect series, playing 1 2 and 3 in a row. This video brought me to tears. Such an epic series, and I enjoyed the ending. My ending was almost exactly like this one. Thank you for the video my friend.
One of the best tributes i have ever seen. When You listen to Admiral Hackett's speech you feel as though you were actually one of the soldiers who fought to defeat the reapers. Someone who lost friends and loved ones but in the end their sacrifice wasnt in vain. Death comes to us all but how you choose to live and die is what really matters. To the legendary Commander Shephard, we honor and salute you. Dead but never forgotten oohrahh!
I just finished Mass Effect 3 last night and this is the perfect tribute video for it. I romanced Liara through the whole trilogy, and seeing her moments with Shepard in this made it even more bittersweet. I got choked up watching this, and I think that says something about how emotionally impactful this series was.
I'm glad that such tributes exist. This one video somehow summarized everything that Mass Effect gave me. Thank you for this. At last I can show my friends and family how much this game has given to me. Thank you.
It seems that Mass Effect will never leave me, just when I think I'm finally done with it I see this video. This game honestly impacted my life and I don't know if I'll ever really forget it. Great video. Brought back a whole wave of feels.... I miss Tali now
this tribute deserves way more recognition than it has. It is so great it makes feel for Shepard and well everyone in this great trilogy. You know what? I'm going to play it all over again b/c of this tribute. T4K, you did more than a great job.
This video is art, pure and simple. It expresses hope, loss, regret, mourning, closure, and relief in a way. I am moved every time I watch this and am so glad that you created this video. This is a shining example of what Mass Effect really meant to all of us fans and the kind of sendoff it really deserves. My hat is off to you sir (or ma'am).
The Legend never gets old and maybe we see him one more last time in the next part. Maybe he earned the rest but humanity needs him... I hope we see some little blue children this time :D

Maybe it's just me, but Hackett's speech at the end of the destroy ending just feels so much more... right, compared to the other endings.
I have to respectfully disagree. EDI’s speech “Because of him, I am alive, and I am not alone” made me sure The synthesis ending was the right choice.
