Honestly one of the best ragtime pieces written recently that I've heard. There are two small points that I would say are unplayable but very easily rectified. Firstly, at the end of bar 37, having an acciaccatura before a five note chord at this tempo is almost impossible even for the very best pianists, this could be solved by removing the lowest A♭ which wouldn't alter the harmony. And secondly, in bar 48 most people cannot reach an interval of a tenth without arpeggiating, moving the middle C up an octave would fix this.
Thank you so much! Yeah, I noticed it too late for the bar 48. But I didn't see it for bar 37! I could also remove the B flat to keep the chromatic descent (or I don't know how to call it). But thanks for noticing these mistakes!
Great stride piano piece - but ragtime isn't ever swung. You may also want to check the C chord in the 3rd to last bar as it's not possible for any human to play that. The top E, I think, you meant to make a C. Re MuseScore - I love how it does the tremolos! :)
ah.. brutal , its a great time to be alive , yt has for some reason recomended me the best original classic and rag compositions
haha thank you! Certainly not the best but glad you liked it🤣

Is it crazy that i can actually reach up to an eleventh very comfortably without arpeggiating?
@@HamletHamster-u4vyes deffinetly
Bar 37 is definitely playable using your thumb on both the a-flat and b-flat
Go look through Cameron Lee Simpson’s catalogue
Great phrasing! Nice piece :)
Solid piece. Looks perfectly possible for a pianist to play.
Thanks! Well it's for very advanced pianist I guess.
@@Marshoyen I'll try to play it I love this song, would you want a video of a record ? (I'm 16 and play piano since 6)
@@paperrob5059 Ooooh It would be so nice of you! A record video would be great too!
Outstanding!
Обожаю стильную и энергичную музыку!!! 🎹🎼🎶🎵😘😍🥰
Jes' right! Just the right amount of secondary harmony. Just the right amount of blue notes. But you can never have too much syncopation.
this is really good! wow

Is there a sheet ?
I'll put a link in the description probably tomorrow. I'll let you know when it's ready.
You can find the pdf here: www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/8gc0hol81tdz5gvp7akaq/Rag2in-F.pdf?rlkey=4y380ydj477480qxf2bl8u42f&st=ukbx6vt3&dl=0
Who is actually playing the score? Logic? Sibelius? Is a very nice one!!
I use Musescore 4 with Musesounds. It's the upright piano in almost all my ragtimes.
When i see you upload I click
What a compliment! Thank you very much!
Ragtime is syncopated but not swung. This is stride but not ragtime.
yeah some other people told me that too
There's a line between ragtime and jazz. Find it. It's pretty clear.
aw man, fucking awesome 👏🏽😎 🤩
It's good, however the 1/4 note triplet doesn't really work. Probably better to use a different rhythmic figure there.
What's the 1/4 note triplet?
