    I've done something similar and have found that small specs or veins of gold paint look great as well. I appreciate the clarity and speed of this video. I'll have to check out your other stuff as well 😁

    Just spot on, perfect balance between ease of replication and effect. Batching actually makes it easier. You knocked it out the park on this one.

    Have you tried the cleaning tissue trick for painting marble through the airbrush?
    Works great, most realistic marble tiles I ever seen!

    I have to test this out with some other marble techniques I've seen. The finish is absolutely gorgeous, and I imagine the waste wouldn't be too big if you taped the bases down close to each other. I guess you can skip the plastic card by painting the crevices or cutting into your base directly with an exacto knife.

      I have a Custodes army with marble bases and I strongly advise against skipping the plasticard. The texture of the bases is really unsightly.

    That looks far better than you'd expect for the effort involved! And no airbrush!
    I did like the bold effect before you toned them down :D
    I'd also go full-on gloss because shiny! :P
    How would you do a Blackstone version of these? I'm all for my robo dudes :P

      for Blackstone, I would do triangles instead of squares and probably black blue, and green instead of white, light gray, and gray.

      @@archfrank often at hardware and home stores, cheap house signs like FOR SALE and BEWARE OF DOG are made of similar thin plastic, that could be an option! good luck.

      Your local hobby store if it caters for the scale model hobbies should stock various plasticard and polystyrene strip/shape. You'll probably find a number of other useful items in this section, such as mesh and brass sheet and strip.

      I would do black the same way minus the speckling steps, to get nice looking black a majority of the surface has to be black, otherwise, it looks gray.

    Will have to give this a try for my sisters of battle bases. Have you tried the baby wipe method? It's given me mixed results so far.

    When you layer the white are you trying to follow the existing layers or are you just going wherever every single time?

      For the white I went random every time but My brush strokes went in the same direction to create a grain in the marble.

    What colours would you use for dark/black marble?

      for dark black marble I would skip the spattering and go right for the grain, using the same blue-gray and light gray colors.

    Prefer the babywipe method but the methods can be combined to achieved mixed marble plates.

    You're boss by painting those marble lines freehand!
    I'm not nearly that neat, I just go with the baby wipe method.

    I like it. Truly beautiful. Why didn't you paint them first and cut them after that? Seems easier to me.

      cutting them after would tear up the paint job. and the plastic might be a different shade of white than the paint job.

    Excellent video, but man, I dont know what it is - I've been near replicating every step to a point in product and instruction, but my execution is just piss poor. I can't seem to get a single thing of this done right.
