  • This is a review and sound test of an already broken in pro circuit T4 full exhaust system (muffler slip on and header). This was the first start of the season so it may not have been running the best, nor was my wheelie game the best either LOL.
    There is a lot of noticeable differences with this exhaust between the crf150f and the crf230f, even though it is exactly the same exhaust for both bikes. On the 150 it felt like it added more grunt, however on the 230 it added lots of top end power so now compared to stock it feels like the power just builds and builds.
    I have also ran this bike "uncorked" with the baffle removed, with proper jetting and air modifications of course, so i can make a comparison to that as well. The uncorking mod is a good one if you are interested in spending as little on the bike as possible, since it is good bang for the buck. It keeps the linear power of the stock 230f however. The pro circuit is still the ideal choice since on the low end it keeps the added power the same as the uncorking mod but it noticeably adds much more to the top end.
    There is a video up on my channel as well for how to install this system, it is really quite simple. as mentioned in the video currently I am running a 120 main and 45 pilot and it seems to run perfectly with that setup for me, keeping in mind that this is Canada and my weather is likely to be colder than yours, so results may differ.
    Thank you for watching and reading this lengthy story of a description LOL. If you like it make sure to subscribe and I will anwser any questions you may still have in the comments :)

    Nice video. I'm approx 400 ft above sea level down in Ga. I run the pro circuit pipe and header using a 45 slow jet and 125 main, 03-05 needle jet believe on 4th slot. It seems to have no bog or issues running through the gears and pulls well. 2017 mod, replaced factory tires with Dunlop mx 33s.

      Yep i ran that for a long time. Try an aftermarket air filter and new jets ;) for the 40$ thats the best bang for your buck. Made a world of difference on my 230. Thanks for checkin out my vid

    What tires do you have on your bike in this video? I just got a 2017 CRF230F, I'm looking to upgrade my exhaust, however my bike is running pretty rich stock, so I'm not sure I'll need to rejet...

      I am running a Maxxis M7305 maxcross rear and a Kenda Millville II front, both in stock size. Its a good combo for control in the sand and good traction everywhere else. I ran without jets for a while and it ran OK if it was warm but it was harder starting and just less powerful in the cold i found. For the 10$ i would buy them just to try it out and see what runs better. Hope that helps :) these are great bikes to modify.

    Can you drop a link for the exhaust

    You had a 150 and 230, they are the same frame and engines but different displacements? You said it felt different on the 2 different bikes does that mean it's the same exhaust and fits both the 150 and 230? Can the exhaust be taken off a 150f and put on a 230f? My friend has one he took off a 2005 150f and I am wondering if it will fit my 2006 230f. Some brands have exhaust listed 150f/230f as fitment goes. What are your thoughts or experiences?

    • @Offroadcircus

      thats exactly right. 150 and 230 share the same exhaust

    I noticed you didn't install an aftermarket heat shield. Any issues with the hot head pipe burning your boot at all?

    • @Offroadcircus
      @Offroadcircus  5 років тому

      Na. One time i burnt a hole through a baggy pair of sweatpants, but I was asking for that. Its never been a problem if I was wearing boots, and the ergonomics of the bike keep your leg away from it pretty well even without boots.

      Cool I installed my pipe yesterday..........stiffer fork springs too. Can't wait to ride it tomorrow. I have yz450fx as my normal ride, but the 230 is really a blast to ride. Plus I can actually reach the ground on it!

    Did you purchase the exhaust directly from Pro Circuit? Same for the jets and airfilter.?

    • @Offroadcircus
      @Offroadcircus  5 років тому +1

      the jets and twinair air filter I ordered through my local honda dealer and the exhaust I think I ordered from fortnine here in canada. If you are in the states there is definetly way cheaper places to get it. My advice is shop around because there is lots of really good american websites you could get a good deal at

    Just heavier fork springs or a revalve too?

    • @Offroadcircus
      @Offroadcircus  4 роки тому

      I just did the revalve. I ride a lot of trails and I feel like the heavier fork springs would make the 230's hammering and squirmy-ness on washboards and whoops worse than it already was. Im actually really happy with the performance of the race tech gold valve. it stays a lot more planted than it did before, because it blows off the pressure from sharp impacts versus sending it through the bike. If you wanted to race it the springs might be worth it alongside the revalve because I can still bottom it out on some flat landings. Hope that helps!

      Offroad circus your feedback does help. I’m coming off a beta 300. Had to offload it earlier on the year but now I’m looking for something easy on the budget to get me back out there. I also had a 250L which needed to be resprung badly. I did the gold valves on that and with a cogent dynamics shock valved for my rocky terrain it did great. Sadly that bike was stolen back in October. Seems I’m not allowed to have anything nice. I did get into amateur racing with the beta but I wouldn’t say I was any harder on the bike than the event was on me. Mainly woods type riding with lots of rocks depending on the event. The beta was initially sprung too light which made the forks compact riding too far into its travel. Too stiff a spring would yield the same but different deflection. A 42 and 5.2 fork and shock spring is typically rated for a 160-180 pound rider. Seemed to work on two extremely different bikes for me. Changing springs and fork oil is one thing I can do.. building shim stacks.. I leave to the professionals. I appreciate the feedback. Tore between this and a 250x for trail use

      yep to keep the bike running its best youd need about a 45 pilot and a 120 main. easy to change and only costs a couple bucks
