Right click inside the audio mixer where you can see the audio levels and choose advanced audio properties, then look for the source of your capture card and under its audio monitoring choose monitor and output. Enjoy!

A lot of people have their PS5/XBOX Series S/X set up in their living room on top of or inside of a tv cabinet and are sitting in chairs or on a couch that's positioned a few meters away from their tv and PS5, likely with a coffee table in between as well. From the sound of this video, you would need a streaming setup to make these methods work, meaning a monitor instead of a tv, a 2nd monitor on a computer desk that is positioned closer to the PS5 in order for the cables from and to the headset/controller to even make it across? In my case, it would require buying a 2nd monitor, a desk, a good quality pc or laptop that can handle the speed of the games played on PS5 to prevent audio lag and multiple cables with the Elgato setup, including aux cables. Is it possible to use a living room setup with just a PS5 or is a streaming/gaming room/setup an absolute necessity?
So the whole point of this setup is for those who are using capture cards to capture their PS5 for youtube recording or live streaming. So the PS5 would then be looping through a capture card connected to a computer before the TV - so a lot of people who are doing setups like that are at desks vs. living room setups. Now if you're trying to maybe just record your PS5 gameplay and play in a living room setup, where maybe your computer desk is just not that far away from your TV stand - but you're still sitting far away - you would simply need to follow the methods that don't involve your controller - I.E. if your TV is close to your computer but you aren't - you don't want to follow the guides that involved connecting your controller to the PC via cables. Which means you would most likely be looking at the "2nd controller trick" since that could be left in the TV stand area.
@@Steggy I see. I appreciatie the detailed explanation. And what if people play couch co-op and each use a controller and 1 gaming headset each too? @@VRBH1 PS5 supports up to 4 controllers so you would just need a 3rd controller in that case to sign into a guest account and go through the steps to get the audio into your capture card. So there's always the option of not using a headset. But yea - there's gonna be some limitations here - because this is not some like official standard of capturing audio on a system. So my 4k60 pro is only good for video recording...? It blocks a Steele series 7p+ headset audio in OBS because you have to set the audio to ALL AUDIO. Is there a workaround for this??
I use a regular usb microphone connected to my PS5, while output is still to HDMI. I use my gaming headset on my PC to listen to everything. There’s the tiniest bit of delay but nothing you’ll really notice. Plus you can use the headset as a mic for the streaming.
I have everything plugged in perfectly with my HD60S+. OBS picked up the PS5 audio but not my turtle beach headset audio when I speak. BUT if I go to the audio PS5 settings and talk THEN I see the audio bar move and the audio go into OBS but once I close the settings POOF no more headset audio into OBS...does this literally only pick up the game chat audio> ?

Didnt explain how to set the settings after the 3mm headphone jack to the 2nd controller. It still doesnt record audio while the audio output on the ps5 is the headset. It has to be set to HDMI for it to work
I don't know if this is gonna help anyone who likes to play with USB Headsets (The First Method he mentioned in the video) 1. Connect an AUX Cord from your MAIN PS5 CONTROLLER to the Elgato Capture Card's AUX IN 2. Press the PS logo button in the middle of your controller. Select "Sound". Then on your "Output Device", select "Headphones (Controller)" 3. Then I connected the SECOND controller (The second controller i'm using at the moment is a PS4 controller) to the PS5 wirelessly and selected "Quick Play". 4. Press PS logo in the middle of the controller (If it's your first time connecting your 2nd Controller, you will be greeted by a Welcome tour). Select "Sound". Then on your "Output Device", select your USB Headset. I'm currently using an Astro A20. Please make sure that from the Elgato Software you select HDMI with Analog Audio! (THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT)! This is the process I found that helped me record audio from my PS5 and use my USB Headset at the same time. You're not gonna hear your Party Chat with this method. (I don't really play Multiplayer games so i'm okay with that) I recommend you invest in a long AUX cord.
So the 4k60 pro mk2 is useless for consoles cause i have to run 4k utility just to get sound but i dont have any latency that way either but it takes up more resources during stream

Hello, thanks for the video, it's literally all that I was looking for, being able to use pulse 3d while streaming 😃👏🏻. Good thing the trick of the second controller (that I have) but I think I'm going to buy the chat link pro (just bought on Amazon xD). Just one question please. I'm using elgato 60 hd + to stream ps5 game using Twitch studio (similar to OBS). I'm doing it like this to be able to use overlays (streaming from ps5 directly is poor in overlay settings ). So in this overlay that I use I put a ps5 controller 🎮 for viewers can see what buttons I'm pressing, the problem is that If I use the controller with cable usb on PC to see buttons, the SOUND of stream alerts suddenly are muted, but at the moment that I disconnect the controller from PC, the stream alerts sounds again (it doesn't affect to ps5 or the controller itself, only interfere between overlay Vs sound. Do you know how to fix it? Right know I have to choose between hearing alerts OR seeing the controller on overlay 🥲 Thanks for the help and sorry for big text...

Can we just connect a headset to the elgato and have sound on both device (sound on the recording PC and the headset) ?
Yes that works but depending on the quality of ur capture card, the audio can buzz or make terrible sounds u can’t confront
If I’m using an Arctic Pro Wiresless (which has analog capabilities) is the simplest solution just to use the Chat Link Pro? Or should I go the audio extractor route? My only concern is that the Audio Extractor is that I can’t control the game vs chat volume levels?
Correct me if I am wrong but I don't think you do need a second PS5 controller? You only need the Elgato Chat Link cable and that should do the trick? Right?
The extra controller does not work.
You wouldn’t need the second controller if you’re using a wired headset
How do I get my in game chat to OBS? It’s recording everyone’s chat but mine. I’m using the chat link pro into ps5 controller.
Does the wireless controller method work or not , don’t wanna spend money n waste it for nothing , someone tell me asap
The wireless mic method didnt work still no sound capture sound
ok so Im super new but i have the PC and the ps5 with the wave 3 mic and A50 headphones which part of this video should i watch again because i cant get my pc audio on the a50's and control things thru the wave link. im super new at this and its all just a little overwhelming
Will elgato chat link cable work with a capture card that's not elgato capture card?
I have the chat link but I can still hear a buzz. What am I doing wrong?
Am I the only one who needs more instructions on the 2nd controller option? What do I do when I plugged it into pc? How to setup obs and ps5 settings? Help.
So my 4k60 pro is only good for video recording...? It blocks a Steele series 7p+ headset audio in OBS because you have to set the audio to ALL AUDIO. Is there a workaround for this??
The second controller method isn’t working for me I even made a separate account for the second controller
the tipp with the second controller aint work, my Elgato don't get any signal from the second controller
Truth. This is the only source that says that is possible, and they don't show u how to do it. Elgato support disavows that method.
I use a regular usb microphone connected to my PS5, while output is still to HDMI. I use my gaming headset on my PC to listen to everything. There’s the tiniest bit of delay but nothing you’ll really notice. Plus you can use the headset as a mic for the streaming.
So, in order for Game chat and my voice to come thru to OBS via HD60x and chatlink pro is to buy a mic?
I’ve my friends have been hearing buzzing from my mic on my headset in party chat while im streaming. Any tips?
So you can’t use your headset microphone? It can only be the crappy controller microphone?
I have everything plugged in perfectly with my HD60S+. OBS picked up the PS5 audio but not my turtle beach headset audio when I speak. BUT if I go to the audio PS5 settings and talk THEN I see the audio bar move and the audio go into OBS but once I close the settings POOF no more headset audio into OBS...does this literally only pick up the game chat audio> ?
I have astro a20 wireless, and I tried the second controller method with the chat link pro, and I am still not getting any sound.
How do you record the sound coming from the PS5 controller though? Like a radio chat, it’s only coming from the controller not the headset… Anyone? Please help 10:32
Why does the "USB headset" method only work with a second controller? Am I able to use my just 1 controller and play with keyboard and mouse?
Im getting a HDMI audio extractor im not planning on replacing my steelseries arctis pro wireless for a wired headset sorry besides i want to hear whats going on in my pc at the same time i plan on streaming for friends on discord aswell as streaming
I have an Arctis Pro Wireless as well, how do you have it set up?
@@YourQtpai Did you ever have any luck with your setup?
@@non_y_ I just ended up using discord for chatting & recording everyone’s mic!
@@YourQtpai thank you!
Hi. So I got a ps5 and bought the chatlink. Followed your steps for the analog device and output does not go to elgato and headset only headsets
Using the elgato hd60 s+
I have also connected my wireless headset with USB connection and second remote method where I have my aux cable plugged into the remote and elgato but sound only coming to headset
I’m really struggling with trying to get audio & chat recorded from PS5. I have chat mix pro and I am using the arctic pro wireless with the square DAC unit. I want to be able to chat to my party while playing and streaming the game and party audio any advice welcome
did u ever figure this out?
the 2nd controller 3.5mm headphone jack method isn't working for me. any help? it's not picking up the audio in the elgato software
The controller with 3.5m jack worked for 1 day now all im getting is game audio and not my game chat am i missing something?
My headset is plugged into my monitor and my mic is in my ps5 and laptop, would that work having my headset in the monitor
Best Tutorial on yt
This video is incredibly helpful. Explains everything as simple as possible. Going to buy a chatlink pro to have audio come through headset and captured on the capture card!
Bro PS5 hurt my head
Instead make my life easy every thing more hard
What if my Elgato Capture card doesn’t have a 3.5mm Line In? How would I get audio to that and my Capture Card?
I having trouble using the usb method
Do i still need a chat link even if im not using a headset? Im playing the medium and some gameplay audio is coming from my controller and not into elgato to streamlabs
Its definitely not that easy of a hook up to a I Mac, I don't hear game play, chat or me through head set with chat link.I hooked it step by step as you said. Can you please help.
hello thank you for the video. I have a question where to i connect my microphone that i will use to talk on stream ? i have a ps5, a hd60x, a macbook, a sony pulse headset, a monitor and a chat link pro. If someone could help that would be great. Thank you!!!
Didnt explain how to set the settings after the 3mm headphone jack to the 2nd controller. It still doesnt record audio while the audio output on the ps5 is the headset. It has to be set to HDMI for it to work
Same issue…did you get a fix?
I don't know if this is gonna help anyone who likes to play with USB Headsets (The First Method he mentioned in the video)
1. Connect an AUX Cord from your MAIN PS5 CONTROLLER to the Elgato Capture Card's AUX IN
2. Press the PS logo button in the middle of your controller. Select "Sound". Then on your "Output Device", select "Headphones (Controller)"
(I don't really play Multiplayer games so i'm okay with that)
I recommend you invest in a long AUX cord.
Hi, i did the first one with the link audio thing, it works but i cannot hear my teammates in the videos but i hear them in my headset
what if you also have a microphone like the elgato wave 3! how would it pick up my voice from the actually microphone ????? pls answer NEED HELP!!!!!!
Can the sound be captured in a different software like Adobe Audition, or do I need a separate microphone.
So the 4k60 pro mk2 is useless for consoles cause i have to run 4k utility just to get sound but i dont have any latency that way either but it takes up more resources during stream
When i do the first method its so loud
All plugged in. Sound to headset. Nothing in Streamlabs? What am I missing? As soon as I unplug the chat link streamlabs picks up sound again? Same on Nintendo switch.
i have the ps5 pulse and tried that way, it didnt work. any other options?
Wait if I want to connect obs to ps5 I need a capture card so they can see my facecam and I need a computer with a hdmi port
Does this 1 method also work with Elgato Chat link (not pro).
Im not sure which cable I need …I can’t get sound going to my MacBook from my ps5 and also into a 3.5mm headset from controller .. but I’ve also tried to have the capture card do in f the video and audio and then a Bluetooth headset to computer but that dosent work except for microphone and the same goes if I connect a 3.5mm headset to my computer directly … I cannot get audio to capture card and also have microphone and sound to headset
I’ve been using a splitter perfectly fine with my 3d pulse ps5 headset & it worked. Now all of a sudden when i plug my splitter in it says “headset disconnected”
We're sorry you're experiencing this. If you haven't already, please file a ticket at e.lga.to/help so our support team can look into this.
just got a elgato and apparently it seems i have to get a mac or a windows, will there ever be a elgato support update for chromebook i may not know all of the tech behind elgato and chromebook meaning one takes either too much from the other or one is outdated but i am disappointed help?
I LOVE YOU THANK YOU !!
Right know I have to choose between hearing alerts OR seeing the controller on overlay 🥲
Thanks for the help and sorry for big text...
Same, my ears are getting blasted
Does it capture party chat? Also, does it work on xbox for game chat?
I'm confused, when using chat link pro and wired headset which cable goes into the pc? I have got 1 cable into my controller, the other into the HD60X and the adapter going to my headset, there is no other available cable to go into the pc. Also my ps5 party chat can hear an echo now, any suggestions?
I just plugged the chat link pro into my controller and my capture card. When I tried to record gameplay I only hear my voice from my mic, no game audio. What else am I missing?
Please double check that you've set your capture device to capture analog audio instead of HDMI audio. If that is already enabled then please contact our support team by going to e.lg.a/help.
I just plugged my headset in to my monitor. got sources for both mic from usb mic and ps5.
I have a pair of arctis 7+ wireless headset. Even with the TRRS4 extension into the chat link cable, I still can’t get audio into obs & headset @ the same time. It’s either one or the other but not both. Not sure what I’m doing wrong, or what I need to fix but I’ve tried almost everything.
ive got the exact same thing - get it working?
@@cccccccccccccccccc382 yea. I had to change it to “analog audio” in obs link. That’s what I was forgetting
I am a small streamer, I bought an Elgato HD60 S video capturer . I have seen many youtubers stream via elgato HD60 s with android devices. I am using MI A3 android phone but all the time I am getting No Signal in elgato software
There is no link below for the extractor
Of course, it’s not made by them and they ain’t profiting from it so no link 😂
So is this why I can’t hear my gameplay audio when I stream on the ps5? I need this thing?
Could you guys make a video for Xbox Series X.
i have the elagto wave 3 will a capture card work with it
Can you use a ps4 contoller rather than another ps5 controller or does it not work ?
I know its a little late, but yes it does work. Just make sure you go to the 4k capture software to change the "audio input" to analog audio. Then for OBS go to the elgato settings and check the box that says "use custom audio device" and make sure to crank up the volume in the "advance audio properties" I have mine at 300%
Hey I have a usb Bluetooth headset and I tried using the extra controller method but it still doesn’t work, I even tried setting the settings in my elgato capture card to analog, still nothing, no audio is being recorded at all
Does the video apply to Xbox aswell?
All I'm looking for is why my capture card audio never shows up whatever I do?
I have problems with my HD60 X and my PS5. The sound comes out all distorted. Can not find how to fix it. Please help? I already checked the site with the FAQ etc
How can we do this with elgato 4k60 pro? It has no line in port!!
