Honestly, how can they get any better? I had the pleasure of meeting all of them a few months ago and they were the kindest men you will ever meet. So perfect.
I saw these guys live, front row, on the last date of their album tour this year, its amazing how good they were then, they're even better with the newer songs now. William Powers always gets me though.
Went to a Black Keys gig at the Metro Arena,The Macabbees were the "support" group they blew me away 1st class I'll listening to a lot more of them from now on
0:45 - Child 5:12 - Feel To Follow 8:38 - Wall Of Arms 12:03 - No Kind Words 14:54 - Go 19:25 - William Powers 22:59 - First Love 26:17 - Can You Give It 29:49 - Ayla 33:55 - Heave 38:29 - Precious Time 43:07 - Love You Better 46:43 - Pelican 50:49 - Grew Up At Midnight
My ears say nice! Its the first time here on internet I hear of these guys. Its a mix of many sounds these days, so they really have their own sound! I am gonna listen it a few more times, and when it keeps hanging in my ears I want the album like a real fan ;-)
I was watching this live on TV at the time and I was freaking worried. It must have been hell up there! I myself have experienced temperatures close to 50°C on stage and I can tell you you feel close to dying after 10 minutes. But they didn't give an inch and soldiered on. Especially the drummer! Great band!
my favourite song by them is Pelican.. i didn't like the music video at first until i sat down and really looked at it.. they say so much with so little words. and the music is very articulate and artistic and inspiring..
Haha loved the John terry lookalike!! Imagine how the Maccabees would sound if they had coldplays budget for a gig I've got given to the wild. I thought their early stuff was whiney cack but given to the wild is an awesome album
Entirely weird reaction: So many times I'm looking at Orlando Weeks singing...and I see Ben Affleck. And I'm thinking 'Damn; Batmans got an amazing singing voice...'
I think that the crowd was excited. It's easy to tell that it must've been a really hot day and those tents can attract the heat very quickly, but the crowd was having a good time. I think people are more reserved in Lowlands and they also schedule festivals when the weather is 'hot', but in this particular performance, it was VERY hot. I think that if you guys check Rock Werchter or T in the Park maybe, you'll notice a little difference. But this was a beautiful gig, they are wonderful live!
23 minutes until they played a song everyone knew - they destroyed themselves at every opportunity (honestly said from a place of love). Should have opened with First Love. Seriously. Watch the reaction to No Kind Words. Great track, building energy, proper drive, an epic hit in waiting. But no crowd response. Only a minority knew it at that point. Someone made these choices. Great band, bad decisions at festivals that would have made them.
I don't think it was hot. Being an active festival goer in the UK who doesn't have to concern themselves with the heat; this crowd looks like the average lunchtime group who'd love to rave to the Maccabees but their hangover from last night is preventing themselves from doing so. This is the 1pm glitch. Unfortunately a lot of festival organisers arrange the 'indie' bands during the lunch period where no one worth their way in salt is awake or healthy enough to see them.
Don't think the world truly understood just how good these guys were!
There is nothing better in the world than the Maccabees.
❤
One of the few modern artists that will be remembered in 30 years

Every song is amazing. His voice, the guitars!! But the drums are freaking AWESOME!!!
Given to the Wild won Best British Album at 2013 NME Music Awards. Perfect!

Took the sound guy so long to turn up the volume on the Orlando's vocals.
totally agree, seen them at the secc, completely stole the show in my opinion.
Oh my God i dont see a brown people in the crown, so when ill go to a festival like this, i will be looking like a strangerI LOVE THE MACCABEES
As much as i love the Maccabees i hate it when they slow down the singing on the older songs to match the new style of the third album...
Babe, I was there. It was nearly 40 degrees Celsius, haha. We sucked, yeah, but it was terribly hot. Maccabees rock!
@31:29 So cute! :3
Everyone in this vid looks like they're trying to enjoying as much as they can, but it's so damn fucking hot!
what happpened to sam when he moved away from the kit? was cute
only for the first few minutes to be fair
What is that effect he uses on his voice?? Wocoder??

@31:10 Is Kaka? :O
where's Orlando's guitar? kill the sound tech of this performance.
maybe too much of the local supply of drugs perhaps? Great performance though.
