This season outdid the first and I never expected that to be possible. I got six projects in the works but I had to knock this out as soon as I thought of the concept. I wanted to focus on the themes of purpose, validation, and failure, hoping it translated.
As always, thank you for watching a 4+ min video that took almost 24 hours of my time (:

A show as good as this deserved an edit as good as this. Bravo.
I knew ahead of time that the forks episode was about Richie and I wanted to skip it because I don't like his character. Man oh man let me tell you I'm so glad I didn't. I think all he's known all his life was commotion and when he went to that restaurant and saw organized chaos he felt at home because he can deal with chaos he just didn't know it could be organized to provide good results. He finally found the purpose he has been seeking his whole life.
True that after that episode Richie is my fav one
That episode changed him from top 5 to top 3
Best episode of s2
Absolutely the best episode of season 2
Truly inspiring how all kinds of mediums can help us keep going and make us feel less alone how so many people feel the same yet be different come from different
I dare people to look away from that camera work and the emotion behind those characters. Such a touching piece of story telling in the modern era.
holy yeesh: the showrunners are masters at callbacks and making certain lines and internal references emerge like arias
I can't stop watching this edit. It is truly perfect.
Appreciate it 😊
Wow! Epic video. Fun song choice and editing. Keep up the amazing work.
Ayo thanks for this! I watched your edit like a month ago and started watching the bear the next day because of it :)
I’m so glad my work introduced you to the show! Thank you for sharing 🥰
Absolutely amazing edit, you've distilled the magic of the second season beautifully! If you're looking for songs for a future The Bear fanvid might I be so bold as to suggest 'Watsky - Welcome to The Family', every time I hear it I always think of this chaotic tribe 😂
Wow, this is a great edit! 👏
That was awesome! Thank you.
THAT IS... WILD....
I'm so worried for Marcus in S3
Marcus deserves some serious time, he is insufferable as it is
Beautiful and chaotic show.
Great edit!!!!
well done 👏
Thanks!!
Amazing!
Great Edit

You can throw down, huh?
The edit is fucking sick!! And I think the editor is even better, good job frfr

Dogs Days Are Over by Florence + the Machine
I like your edit! What did you use for it? Curious what most ppl are using now in days
Adobe Premiere Pro
@@makedasvids thank you so much!
Amazing edit. Amazing show. Where do you get the footage from?
Screen recordings or torrents
❤❤
How can I put 1000 likes to this???
Episode 6
This fucking show bruh...
I love that for Richies arc someone just had to tell him what front of house is lol
You were capable of resuming all the beauty of this season in just 4 minutes. That's amazing, one of my favorite edits from now on!
A perfect edit for a perfect show. It really shows the roller coaster of emotions that is The Bear. Amazing job Makeda.
So cool, so much clarity, so much connection with the emotions of the show, what a great job you did here. Thanks for doing this and for existing.
Thank you for existing 🫶🏽
wow, ur vid completely captured the vibe of the show and this is briliant
much appreciated!
FUCKIN ASTOUNDING WORK CHEF
THANK YOU CHEF
omg i LOVE this. haven't seen that many edits for this show/season and i think it’s so hard to capture the feeling and layers of this show - you did an amazing job!! from the funny to the tragic to the big love between the characters, it’s all in there. i love the storytelling in this and how you used sound/quotes (especially bc that show has so much dialogue). also great song choice
thank you so much for all the kinds words 🫶🏽
Fine, I'll watch The Bear.
😂
This was so good! Dogs days are over is the perfect song for this edit! Plus it works perfectly well with the theme for this season. 😊
Thank you!
Yes... Fuckk i cried watching this. Dem feels...
Incredible work, Chef.
I’ve been trying to capture footage for a presentation I’m doing at work but cannot seem to break through and capture anything. Any advice you can give me would be a lifesaver.
Thank you, Chef.
Not sure what type of presentation you’re planning for / what footage you’re interested in, though I choose a song and always try to start with a core theme. Then, I build around it by adding dialogue and cinematography that reflect or add to the message I’m tryna convey Hope this helps in some way (:
@@makedasvids thank you! I’m trying to use clips of the show to illustrate real life points about the restaurant brand I work for. The only problem is I can’t figure out how to actually get any of the footage off of Hulu. I even reached out to them asking for help. In the off chance you’d be willing to share best practices - I’d truly appreciate any help. Otherwise I’ll be holding up an iPhone to an iPad and recording 😅
@@LadtessoI use torrents though it’s always risky due to viruses. The safest option is probably screen recording from UA-cam if you don’t mind the video quality after it saves
That's a very good edit
They make it very easy with this cinematography
Also this song hits different after gotg3
Great video! You made every second (of this video) count.
The Bear is an equally very smart written show like Breaking Bad or Better Call Saul.
In the first scene, we meet Richies daughter, he promises her that he also likes Talor Swift.
He is just so tired & exhausted lately.
In season 1 we see a broken man, which is filled with many complexes & ego issues, due to an upringing in a dysfunctional family, where a loud volume & swearing rubbed off on everyone, because these are the values they got sent with them along the way as children/adolescents up until it manifested into their adulthood.
And Richie comes across as a very stereotypical macko guy, who thinks he knows everything better, due to his insecurities.
He always has to prove to everyone that he is the man.
Just like during the scene at the hardware store with Sydney.
He gives her attitude for her quote "babysitting him" & is too prideful to ask for help when locating the proper tools, since he's once again too insecure about his masculinity.
But it is later revealed that Richie is actually very sensitiv & afraid of change as it is evident with the transformation of the restaurant & his fear of getting left behind, because behind his loud & obnoxious character traits, he feels like a hollow shell, who has abandonment issues.
And the Forks episode might be one of the best episodes of the series so far.
Since ironically, becoming a "Eleven Madison Park D ic head" himself, lol. & embraces the role of the Maitre D & therefore accepts the duty of taking care of people, when Richie had always viewed such a role, as the task of a woman.
And I love how he is smiling & singing along to Taylor Swift, full of euphoria as he is driving home after having become a truly changed man, who no longer feels ashamed to accept himself & his new found role as a caretaker, since he is a naturally very charismatic guy & has finally redeemed himself by letting go of his forced masculine facade & no longer cares if he isn't viewed as the though guy among his family & friends hierarchy.
It's also subtle cinematographic shots like the zoom in on the alarm clock durings Richies week at the restaurant, that remind me very much of directors like Vince Gilligan.
At first he wakes up at 5:38 since he thought he was sent there as a sort of punishment & would gradually get up at 5:36 & so forth until he got up without hitting the snooze button on the alarm at 5:30, since he had discovered his purpose again.
I love these: "Showing not telling" shots, which are very much open to interpretation & don't force feed us every information, & the audience has to pick up on these subtle things themselves.
And upon rewatching the Bear, I finally realized that Carmens father was a former military guy, who passed away, & which would explain the authoritarian tone in the Berzattos family household/all the relatives as well.
While the "Dogs" or "Fishes" episode hint at it, the "Forks" episode made it crystal clear, since chef Terry told Richie to hold the knife in a 130 direction, which then led to them having a personal conversation about their fathers & how her dad was former military.
I love how well written the script for this show is & how much depth there is to each character.
At last, a relatively new tv series that doesn't completely sock & tries way too hard to please the woke crowd. Lol
Also, its quite an achievement to having written this quick paragraph in less than 10 minutes...despite the fact that I have been awake for a day & a half almost.
That's what life as a chef does to you.
You are under constant pressure cooking for pretentious twats & the next thing you know, you get woken up by the "Carbon Monoxide Fairy" as she is presenting you with the scent of of smoke & burning plastic, as you managed to throw in a box of Nuggets into the deep fryer without removing the package.
As you fall back asleep & get visited by your sleep paralysis demon Gordon Ramsay, who is shouting at you for not being able to locate the Szechuan Mc Nuggets Sauce, which was very popular during the release of the movie Mulan.
Lol
I got chills. What a beautiful show. What a beautiful video.
Yoo, this is fire, Chef! 🔥🔥🔥It perfectly captured the season and putting "Let it rip" at the end was *chef's kiss*
wow. I could watch this over and over again… absolutely flawless edit. love it!
This was soo good! The editing is excellent!
Thanks!!
it's perfect job. Слов нет. Просто знай, что где-то на другом конца земного шара ты тронул в самое сердце своей работой. Аплодисменты
Спасибо большое, мне очень приятны ваши добрые слова 🥹 I put this in Google Translate so hopefully it’s right 🤞🏽

well this made me cry like a fucking baby. Beautiful.
I'm looking forward to re watching season 1 and 2 of this with my partner 😊
What a stunning edit!! Not only is the song choice perfect, but you managed to do justice to the beautiful cinematography and to the massive heart of the show, with all the heartbreak and humor it has. I love what you did here💕
This edit is PHENOMENAL
This is such a great tribute to the show 🥰
Beautiful edit. Wow.
Beautiful job.
If you are a gog fan did you also get emotional when the song started playing 😢😂
heyyyy !!! just came across your The Bear Edit ! outstanding work loved the way you edited this Keep it up :)
Amazing edit. Should be their Emmy reel. Bravo.
This is brilliant - the best TV series complemented by an inspired piece of music
Made my Saturday morning - Great Work!
fantastic edit! getting into editng more stuff like this any advice you have?
1. Be patient with yourself bc while editing can be incredibly fun and creative, it can sometimes also be time consuming and stressful (if you’re a perfectionist like myself)
2. Learn what styles & techniques work best for you bc what works for one editor might not work for you or the story you tryna tell. I experiment with various styles & have specific techniques for specific edits/genres i.e., this edit focuses on cinematography, so I highlighted certain frameworks and placement that correspond with specific dialogue and flows with the previous clips, while also eliminating any effects aside from text.
3. Support other vidders on IG and Twitter as well as UA-cam !!!! My vids didn’t start improving til I made acquaintances. It is incredibly heartwarming to see a comment notification from an editor who’s work you’re in love with and you never know if you’re that editor for another person. Slowly building community in a space that already existed helped me hone my craft and learn from others, especially when I transitioned from iMovie to Adobe Premiere. My work is much more defined and strategically planned than when I started 4 years ago. Now, I only put an edit out if it’s something I have invested a lot of time and love into.
Hope this helps and thank you for asking 😄
Good one!
Beautiful edit! Congrats.
