Interesting information. I didn't know he contributed so much songwriting to those classic albums.

When I was 14 in 1998 you (Astennu) were the reason I wanted to learn sweap arpeggios on guitar. It wasn't Malmsteen, it wasn't James Murphy it was Astennu throwing those fast arpeggio leads in Covenant and Dimmu Borgir. Nice to see you back.

It's a shame Astennu don't (or didn't) like Animatronic. Sure, it's totally different than Nexus Polaris, but man, it's still fucking amazing in its own terms.
It'd be interesting to see what would Astennu bring to Animatronic.

Astennu >>>> Galder. Love Galder but he can't play leads. Dimmu absolutely needs to remix Spiritual Black Dimensions. The articulation is terrible, especially the drums.

That's why I don't like Galder in Dimmu Borgir. He can't play leads. I always shake my head when I listen to him trying to play Astennu's solos. 😂

He can play leads, but he is more of a guy who plays to the emotion and melody than he is a shredder. Astennu's wheelhouse is much different from Galder's. Astennu, IMO, was able to shred with melody and emotion. I mean, his solos from the Insight and the Catharsis are prime examples of tasteful playing with incredible shredding. Same with the ending solo to Dreamside Dominions.
